Fertile?

Hello .. again :)
I want to thank everyone for all their advice and informative replies. I am truly greatful. I feel like i've been asking a lot of dumb questions lately..and here is one more : ( Sorry everyone!

In my previous post I had stated I went off birth control. I've been off it only for a week. I had my scheduled pill period around the 5th. I was still on the pill but then a few days after I got off the pill i had it again (last tuesday), with only a week in between periods. It was the full length of my normal period. I've had 2 regular periods in one month with only a week of not having one in between.

My question is am i fertile this week like in the calendars that show peak fertility based on the first day of your period and number of days in your cycle? Or am I not right now this week becuase i've had 2 periods in the past 3 weeks? Perhaps my fertility goes with my pill period as opposed to the one that happened shortly after getting off the pill?

I know its hard to tell the answer to this, but i'm just confused as to how to chart my fertility now, since i've had two periods lol. Ill probably just leave it up to chance and not try so hard but I am curious.

Sorry for the dumb questions everyone. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi,no question is a stupid one. My guess is your second "period" was actually spotting. I missed a pill once and spotted for almost 5 days. As recommended previously, get the book taking charge of your fertility as it will help you better gage those fertile times. Some people get pregnant right away but it is often hard. It took me about 8 months to conceieve my first but did get pregnant 2 months after reading taking charge of your fertility and temp charting.

Ok. Thank you for your reply. I thought it was spotting at first, but then it got really heavy, and lasted as long as a period. So I thought it was a second period, as opposed to light spotting.

Thank you for your reply. I'm sure I'm not at my peak fertility right now, I guess I was just kind of hoping :)

Hi Jen,
It's possible that you are fertile right now, but without having any kind of history to go off of, in addition to the traditional bodily signs that go along with it (fertile mucus, temp drop, etc...) there's really no good way to tell.

You could try an ovulation predictor kit, to see if you're getting the LH surge before ovulation, but, again, your chemistry may just be out of whack at this point.

If you check out the book - you'll find that peak fertility for women is anywhere between day 12 and 24, respectively. The standard "day 14" is more of a generic number. I, for example, most frequently ovulated on day 17.

I know it's confusing! But hang in there. Things will change over the next month or two as your body regulates and you'll start to notice patterns.
