Feeling Guilty

Who here has their groceries delivered??? A friend told me last week that she's been doing this for almost a year, and I'm finally giving it a try...So far, I've only put in what's on my list, which is going to pay the $5 shipping in itself...And it's going to be here sometime between 4 and 6 TODAY...All of the specials that are in the ad are honored, as well as manufacture (sp) coupons...Can I go wrong with this? The store that I shop at is 45 minutes from home (we live in the sticks)...They even have their natural foods online...From what I understand from my friend, the produce is better than in the store...YIPPEE! Can't WAIT!

Our Giant offer sthis service with their Peapod. I've been trying to get DH to give it a go. Co-workers here at school have said nothing but good things about it - and yes, they too said the produce is fresher and better because they pack their Peapod orders first, so you get the benefit of first choice of the fruits and veggies!

Ohhh - let me know how it works out! I've always been afraid to have groceries delivered because I buy mostly produce. I'm worried that the produce won't be as good as what I'd pick out on my own. I want to know if my fears are ungrounded.

Don't feel guilty - your time is valuable. The 45 min you aren't on the road - no wait, hour and a half (round trip) is time you could be spending with your kids, working out, reading a good book. Lots of more important things you could be doing. You deserve to treat yourself. Especially if it only costs $5.00. You spend that on gas alone!

I agree, enjoy it, you'll probably save money in the end. I am always curious about these services but don't know that I would try one, as I have an unnatural attachment to grocery stores, and look forward to going. I think I just like being surrounded by all that food. :D

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow - what a ride!’ — Peter Sage

Unfortunately, I don't have a grocery store that will deliver to my house, but just last night I ordered Kashi Go Lean Crunch and a few other items at Amazon.com's grocery section. The grocery store is always out of that cereal and it is my favorite. The only downside is you have to order 6 boxes. But it is cheaper that way. Also, as with most everything on Amazon.com, if you spend over $25, you get free shipping.

Don't feel guilty. Enjoy it!

I just got my order...The 79 cent green pepper that I got is HUGE (about 2 worth) and BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm SO impressed with this! I'll NEVER go the grocery store again for a full grocery shopping trip...Only for the little things that I forget (like bread! LOL!)...

Try it once...
