Favourite Bootcamp-type Drills?

FiddleFit

Cathlete
Hi everyone!

We often have lists of our favourite or least favourite Cathe workouts. I'm wondering more specifically now about your favourite bootcamp-type drill? What do you love most from Bootcamp (Intensity Series), DrillMax, Bootcamp (4DS), High Step Training Advanced, High Step Challenge, or any other short burst of intense cardio found scattered throughout Cathe's whole collection?

I'd also love to hear of any that you might do in other, non-Cathe workouts.

One of my very favourites is the 3rd drill from DrillMax: the pendulum/jump sequence holding the stability ball.

My other favourite is the 5th drill from DrillMax: the 2-foot hops, and the leaps.

Cheers,
Sandra

Too many to name!

Hey there! I love all blasts, really. Let me say this - I do not like "line taps" from DM - from 1st round. Wow. Too rough. I mean, I can do them all the way through, but wow - they start to get to your back so you really have to keep your head in good alignment.

So, I love power turning squats from BM2, nearly all blasts from Imax 3 except "high tucks" as it is just a bit much. I love squat thrusts, flunges, plyo jacks and even air jacks - if not too many at a time! Right now I do a lot of LIC blasts twice in a row and those are pretty good if you pick up the intensity. I have to do them though due to my pregnancy.

Awesome thread, Sandra!

My favorites are:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the first intensity blast from 4DS HIS!! I love all three blasts from this workout but I think the 1st one is my favorite!
Drill Max - 1st drill (yowza!)
Drill Max - 2nd drill (lateral skates into jumps onto the step)
Kick Max - last drill (tuck jump with 3 hops - maybe I like this one so much because I know it's the last one!)
Imax 2 - Blast 6 (power 3's into fast feet shuffles - love this drill!)
Interval Max - Blast 6 (the reach/tuck jumps!)
Imax 3 - Blast 1 (love it!)
Imax 3 - Blast 4 (love the music (Bon Jovi), the energy - so fun!)
Body Max 2 - blast 1 from the Power Circuit segment)
4DS - Drill one (the shuffle and jump)
4DS - Lateral suicides
Boot Camp - 1st cardio drill (jacks, quarter jacks, circle jacks, and air jacks)
LIC - blast from the bonus cardio
Low Max - blast 7 ("yeah, you guessed it, the slap and the kick!")
Kick Max - drill 7 (sequential power kicks)
Boot Camp - cardio drill 6 (sequential power kicks - 28 per leg!!)

And I love to hate/hate to love:
Blast 6 from Imax 3 (the wide lunges off the step)
Blast 5 from Imax 2 (long hop turns into plyo jacks and air jacks)
Blast 8 from Interval Max (power scissors!)
Blast 10 from Interval Max (leaps into air jacks into tuck jumps - oh my!)
Drill 5 from Drill Max (forward bounding)
Ski hops from 4DS BC (those, for me, are tougher than the suicides!)

In preparation for ski season, I've been using this little number from Mountain Athlete - www.mtnathlete.com

Leg Blaster
[FONT=Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif]20 air squats
20 alternating lunges
20 jumping lunges (power lunges/Mary Catherines from P90X)
10 squat jumps

Usually done multiple times with a 30 sec rest in between. It's nothing short of evil!

Great replies everyone! I'm breaking a sweat just reading them!

Another favourite: the hammer-punch lunges from KPC, and then done with the front kick added in KM. "Low impact, high intensity at its best."

I *heart* wide lunges -- my all time favorite blast! I echo what above poster(s) said about IMAX blast #6 and 4DS HIS blast #1.

I much prefer step to bootcamp/drill max/kickbox drills, but.... I do love DM #1, #3, and anything kickboxing that involves a jab-cross-reach-pull!
