I love the Asics Gel 180 Tr. I've tried using otherIf it's a step workout, I use my regular running sneakers, Asics gel GT2000 series. If it's a plyo, weights, metabolic thing, then I use my Asics gel Craze shoes. This is just personal preference that helps me avoid injury, particularly to the achilles tendon which is vulnerable for me with step workouts (all that stepping backwards....).
I have used Asics running shoes for step workouts for some time now with no ill effects. Any less of a built up shoe, and I will get Achilles problems. So, this is a tried and tested set of shoes that work for me. Plus, I have my own custom orthotic I wear in every single athletic shoe and hiking boot.

I love the Asics Gel 180 TR. I've tried using other brands, but I always go back to my Asics Gel 180 TR! They're on sale now for $49 on the Asics website!
