Family emergency

Cyndie

Cathlete
I have been receiving checks from people and I will work on the exercise calendars this week. Just wanted to let people know that I am trying but not succeeding very well. My mother just had a massive heart attack last Sunday. It is due to heavy smoking. She also has pretty advanced emphysema. She came pretty close to dying because she waited so long to go to the hospital. Her symptoms began on Friday and she didn't go until Sunday afternoon. I was away from home for a week, staying at the hospital until she came out of critical care. She is much improved but still not totally out of the woods. She sustained a lot of irreversible damage to the heart. We will see how she does when she returns home. Thanks everyone for your continued patience. I am having the most hectic and stressful summer.

Take care all, Cyndie

Hi Cyndie,
Although I did not order a calendar I just wanted to say I will keep you and your family in my prayers. It is very stressful to have anything happen to someone in your family. Stay strong.

Terri

RE: Ditto!

Cyndie, please don't worry about the calendars right now. We can wait for them, but your mother needs you right now. You can worry about that later, when she is fully recovered.
I will keep her in my thoughts & prayers, & will ask my devout friend to put her on the church prayer list.
Let us know how she is doing (& you) when you have a chance...best wishes for a full & speedy recovery,
Ruth

Hi, Cyndie - I too did not request an exercise calendar, but I wanted to send you my thoughts and good wishes for your mother's recovery. My mother collapsed in early December, due to late-stage alcoholism, and her kidneys and liver were in almost complete failure. She survived, and is now slowly mending. Seeing her through that is enormously stressful.

Please take care of yourself as you weather this, and know that we're thinking of you.

Annette

Cyndie,

So sorry to hear about your mother. Please don't worry about the calendars for heaven's sake--just take care of your mother and yourself. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.

Cyndie---Your message struck a chord with me, as I lost my mother on 27 July 01. We think she had a massive coronary--she died at home, apparently in her sleep. The day before, she had been complaining of heartburn & shortness of breath, but she refused going to the doctor. Neither my siblings nor I lived nearby (three of the four of us live out of state). It was a real shock because she had no history of heart trouble. Yes, she was a heavy smoker, too. Anyway, it's good to hear that your mom survived. Take good care of her---let her know that you treasure her. I'll say some prayers that she recovers! Suzanne

Cyndie, please believe that it is most important right now for you to be with your mother and take care of your own health while going through this stressful ordeal. Please do not worry about those calendars. I'm sure there is not a person on this board that would be upset about them. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Take care and keep us updated on your mother's progress. Mary

Hi Cyndie,
I'm so sorry about your mom and that things are so stressful for you right now.
Thinking of you and hoping your mom improves and that things settle down for you.
