False Positive

Okay, now I feel extremely stupid (especially being a pharmacist and all)...but I have a false positive. :(

This is how it happened. Last week I purchased a test at the pharmacy. B/c I work there, I was super secretive about it. I didn't even want to bring the box home b/c I didn't want to risk freaking out my family if I didn't have too. I took the two tests out of box and collapsed the box (with directions) and hid it in the bottom of the garbage can at work.

Then, when I got home I took the test and saw two lines. In the past, this particular brand showed two lines if positive (one line is positive line, the other line tells you test is complete). So....I assummed I was pg.

Tonight I thought I'd go ahead and do the other test. Then I thought I'd better look online at a test to 'make for sure'. There were two different SUNMARK PREGNANCY TESTS....when looking closer at the one I had I realized the line as a "minus" sign....opposed to a "positive" sign.

Oh well, now I feel like a total dork. I'm so glad I didn't tell my friends, family, and coworkers yet. This also gives me more time to warm DH up to the idea. I had to laugh at myself and hold all three of my boys super tight tonight, b/c I love them so much and am so lucky to have them.

I'm so sorry Melanie! We'll be rooting for you to get that BFP, the true BFP, sometime soon! Hey, this could have happened to anyone. And you know my DH bought a ept test which sounds similar to yours where two lines show up, but if it's positive one of the lines turn into an + instead of just the one line. I told him my test came out negative and then he went to check and said I better look again becaues it's positive, then I had to explain to him that this one is different than the other one where one line shows up and then if you're pregnant, another line shows up. I told him an actual + sign has to show up for it to be positive. He just said "oh okay." I'm so glad you were able to find humor in it! You're too funny! So how do you like being a pharmacist?

Great attitude! You do have much to be grateful for having three

healhy children. It will happen again.

I was hesitant to post since you mentioned you were all set seeing
it but...

I really admire your postitive energy and attitude. I can tell
through your posts you are a superb Mother and really love your
three boys. It is obvious how much you enjoy being pregnant and
all the stages the children go through. I worry about how I am
going to do it all once I have my second this summer. I would
love to think about a third but honestly don't know how well I
could cope. Your a natural!
 
Suzanne, thanks for your kind words. You (us as women) are capable of doing so much more than you/we give yourself/ourselves credit for. God will never give us more than we can handle. ;) You're are absolutely right, I adore and love my boys so much and I LOVE being a mommy; however, I wouldn't be able to do it without the guidance of other moms, like you. Thank you!
