Fage = Lactose?

I've read how many of you love Fage greek yougart. I am lactose intolerant. I eat lactaid cottage cheese and sometimes I get some irritation when I have regular yougart.

Are there any Lactose Intolerant folks who do ok with Fage?

Thanks.

Carmen.

I have mild lactose intolerance and do better with Fage than I do Oikus, Stoneybrook Farm, Trader Joe's, Dannon, or Yoplait. It also is the best tasting yogurt IMHO.

I am not lactose intolerant but had fage with strawberries this morning for breakfast and my gut has been hurting ever since. Anyone have this problem?

It could be the seeds in the strawberries. Some types of intestinal problems (IBS? Crones?) are aggravated by small seeds like those in strawberries.

Thanks - I'm pretty sure that is not it. I've had strawberries lots of times with no problems.

I bought one and Im so afraid to try it. I'd love to hear from anyone else who may be lactose intolerant and may have tried this product. Thanks

Carmen.

Good news!!! I am lactose intolerant and the FAGE did not aggrivate it. No bloating no discomfort. :eek: Tastes great. :D I recommend it.

That was something I did not know. Thanks for posting it. I always learn something new on these forums.

I am highly LI and eat Fage all the time, but I do always take a Dairy-Ease pill before I eat one, just to be sure. When I eat something I know has lactose in it, I usually take several pills, but just 1 is fine for Fage.

I tried the Fage again the next day in a smaller amount and had the same reaction - though not as severe. For me, it is not lactose intolerance. I can eat all kinds of other dairy, milk, ice cream, cheese. "Regular" yogurt gives me some discomfort, but not to the same degree.

There must be something in the pro-biotics that my body is rejecting. :(
