Exers...........Another Monday................

Hi all,

Just starting us off. I'm glad Traci and annointed are getting to sleep in.

I'll bbl, I hope everyone has a wonderful Monday.

Tracy

Hi all,

Well, I just read yesterday’s posts.

Traci – I’m so sorry that the planets are not in alignment for you. You are an inspiration to all of us. I totally understand the need to re-center.

Yesterday I ended up doing a really good run in the heat, and then a 70+ flow from Fluid Power. I was getting ready to go do my yoga, as DH was going to ride his bike, and I said, “I can’t wait to do my yoga, it makes me feel so good.” Then DH said, “I wish that you were substituting ‘discussions’ for the word yoga.” He can dream on……

Today is going to be heavy upper and lower, as efficiently as I possibly can. I have a lot of packing and cooking to do to get ready. We are leaving tomorrow for Aspen. DS has a bike race this weekend, and then we’ll hike/camp the next week. He made the 2007 World Junior Downhill Mountain Bike team, so he is very happy about that, and I’m happy for him. Off to Scotland for him.

On the comments for modification to the new workouts; I totally agree. What don’t they understand about the word ADVANCED? I personally think that some of the questions and comments just reinforce the fact that some women are bit*%S. I know that is not nice to say, but I can’t help it. The nasty comments remind me of going into someone’s house and then bashing their decorating; it’s really very rude and self centered.

Sandra – I haven’t had the time to do the long Fluid Power flow. I can’t wait though. Yesterday I did a nice flow from the matrix, and it really helped loosen up my groin/ hip. I did the handstand flow again yesterday. I worked on being able to get up with both the left and right legs. It’s easy with the right, but hard for me with the left. When I was writing regularly, I probably put as much thought into the piece before I ever put anything on to paper as I did actually writing. I’ve continued with the upper body heavy strength training and my upper body is really hard. I love that pumped feeling that you get from lifting heavy. It’s interesting because I’ve achieved it with a combination of heavy and moderate lifting, just very consistently. I actually have muscular cleavage in my chest, which I contribute to the lifting, but also the daily yoga and push ups. My legs aren’t quite as hard, but I’m getting there.

Nicole – Glad you were able to get in the yoga. I hope you can find time to visit today. Unfortunately, snooty people are not unique to your area. They offend DH, I just laugh about it.

Cheryl – Glad you had a nice trip. Sounds like you are still able to get the workout in. That’s always a plus.

Wendy - The barbell clips are really cheap. Like 2.50 at Sports Authority. The trooper story was quite funny. He probably did look at you with the kids, and the dog and said, I’m out of here….I did CF last week. It just about killed me.

Dabra – Have fun with BFF. We look forward to hearing from you again when you have the time.

Hi to all who follow, Laurie, Swifty, Amy if you are around.

Tracy

Morning

I have been in bed all weekend in great pain I'm waiting for Dentist Office to openx( either he's going to pull tooth or going to give me stronger meds you'd think by this time that I'd be out of the storm but the side of face is swollen and eye is puffy and now can't drink coffee or eat nothing not good and I am so weak from not eating past two days. I will talk to you later:)

Annointed - I'm so sorry that you are feeling so bad. Maybe you need to go to the emergency room. That sounds like the infection is speading and really serious. Infection in the head and face is nothing to fool with. I hope you get some relief SOON.

Tracy

Good morning dear women! Hope you are all ready to start another week...Don't have time for personals right now...DD has a playdate at the bowling alley this morning...we'll see how that goes...LOL! I am hopping back on the exercise horse today after a couple of days off with my BFF...It was soooooooo good to see her and have some girlfriend time!

I think I am going to do a steady state cardio today...and on to L&G extreme tomorrow...followed by yoga the next day and DM cardio + upper body on Thursday...I will certainly be glad for DD to be back at school so we can get into a sort of routine again.

Traci...Just sending some {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}} if you are lurking.

Tracy...Thanks for starting us off this morning...And just wanted to let you know the dvd you sent arrived this weekend....Thank you so much!!!!! What are you using for your heavy weight work?? SH? On DH and the "discussions"...silly man...why would having a discussion make you feel better??? That is wonderful news for your son...When will he go to Scotland? I've never been to Aspen...sounds like a great trip!

TG...GET TO A DOCTOR NOW!!

Okay...will try to catch up with other personals later after the bowling game! Take care and kisses to all!

Good morning,
Today was PLB floor only and then PUB Up only premix. Good weight work for upper body. Been needing it too. Our camping trip was WONDERFUL! I went into it slightly apprehensive as I wasn't as prepared as I'd have liked, but it all worked out well. DH and I explored some new roads, he was able to pan for gold and the dogs had a blast. Was a great trip!!!! Will be back there for sure. Have a bike ride after work scheduled and then some housecleaning too (badly needed). The tiling is officially done as I sealed the grout last night. Now DH can finish the sheetrock patching, I can paint and then we can install the new stove. Hope that can all happen within a week or so.

Traci, I feel so bad about Sandy. Know you guys will come up with a solution. What a sweetie your Wendell is to be working on the stairs already. Hope you got a nap in yesterday. I surely would not want you and your DH to not spend the weekends together. (((Hugs))). I've still got the crown, though I can taste it from time to time, yuk!! I'm okay as long as I don't eat anything sticky or chewy.

Debra, hope you had a fantastic time with your BFF (what is that abbreviation). Too many drinks? Aw, it's been a long, long time for me doing that. The last time was so bad, I learned my lesson.

Sandra, your bread sounds absolutely delish!!! It's been years since I made bread, but the whole experience is such a satisfying one. Thanks for the info on the breathlessness along with TTOM. Where can I find more info on this? I'm going to ride my bike tonite and see how I feel.

Nicole, sorry about the snootiness of the groom. Don't let it get to you. I'm not so good at small talk so occasions like that aren't my thing.

Cheryl, glad you are having a wonderful trip!!! Nice to hear from you.

Wendy, how is the kitchen going? Is the end in sight? Can't wait for the pictures, though I'm jealous that someone else got to see it already. Wow, you lost 8# from Basic Step? Gets frustrating to think we have to keep doing more and more. I need to work smarter, not harder and keep changing things up.

Tracy, congrats to your DS on making the team! That's huge!!! Your upcoming trip sounds good. Did your DH decide to go with you guys?

Anointed, sounds like the meds did nothing. Hoping that you get in right away!!! Please don't push your body to workout when you are in this condition. Not good.

Oh, got to get in the shower now and get ready for work. Hope everyone has a good day.

Jeanette

Morning Ladies,

Rotation: Cathe's July '07
Workout: Week 3/Day 2/Imax 2 Premix #1 plus BC Abs

I did manage to get my workout in on Friday. And of course had DOMS all day on Saturday. When I would sit down for a bit, I had to work the stiffness out. :) Sunday was much better. The weather this weekend wasn't that great. Saturday it started raining at the end of the day. Sunday we had intermittent downpours. Of course yesterday we where walking around in a sauna with upholstery material on our bodies. :7 Again I ask myself why do I do this again? :7 But then watching the puppet show that my daughter created, being acted out in the rain was a true treat. ;-) I was busting a gut along with everyone else that saw it. And I had read the script for it many times. :D

Going to miss Traci, but understand the need to get your life in sinc. ;(

Tracy, Congrats to your DS getting on the National team. What a treat to be able to go to Scotland. Just one of the many places that DH and I would love to go to. :)

Annointed, It does sound like the infection is not getting better. I can't even imagine how much pain you are having to deal with. Go get stronger meds.

Have to go look at the weekend thread,

Laurie

Mon w/o - LIC cardio premix 48 min. followed by 30 min YogaX. What a difference yoga makes. Must get more yoga wo's. Loved the core strength I've developed since X graduation and putting in some cycling time.:7

Happy Monday to all xer ladies! Wow what a weekend. No wo for me. Just a chore list with lots of checkmarks:)

Friday night I did a 16 mi ride. Humidity was a huge factor and slowed my pace. But a great wo overall.

Tracy- Congrats to DS on downhill team award! Fabulous:D Thanks for starting up the thread today.

Cheryl - Amazing getting your wo's in over the weekend. :)

Debra - Bowling play date for DD should get her wo in this AM. Do they use the ramps where the ball is placed on top of the slide and let go down the alley? First time I laid eyes on a ramp I couldn't believe it! DD is at cheerleading camp for the week. School starts the 29th here. Will you wo before sending DD off to the bus or after? Ahhhh, your weekend with BFF sounds wonderful!

My short term memory is failing again. Must go back and read posts and try to bbl. Hi to all! Have a super wo!:D

Hi all,

Thanks for the congratulations for DS. He is excited and leaves the 31 of Aug.

Debra- I've done 4 weeks of GS going as heavy as possible with 8-10 reps. It's working.

Jeanette - DH has not yet decided whether he is going on the trip. I've quit asking and I'm preparing like he is not going. I hate the indecision.

Swifty - I just love it when people find the benefits of yoga. It really does make a positive difference in more ways than one!

Laurie - I don't know how you do the fair every weekend. I'm glad DDs play was a success. I'm sure that makes the sweating all worth while.

Off to do PUB with added push/pull ups, then S&H legs later and yoga. I'll finish this rotation off with a circuit tomorrow before I leave and that's it except for easy stuff for a couple of weeks.

Tracy

Good morning!

Only time for a quick post right now.

This morning I did GS Chest, IMAX3 6-10, and Shiva Rea's Creative Core Abs (35mins). I'm very happy with this whole workout. For I think the first time ever I did not have to take an extra long break between the 12 & 10 push ups. Frankly, I think it might be because I've lost a few pounds since the last time I did them, and I had less weight to lift LOL!

TracyX - Shiva's CCAbs is wonderful. I think you'd really like it. There are 3 segments: water, spontaneous, and fire. The Water Core is straight from the Fluid Power dvd. The spontaneous and the fire core are good. The 15 min fire segment, especially, is core-synergistics in nature. You even do some plank runs. The core is also worked by stabilizing the legs and doing some vigorous upper body movements. I think that's the stuff you like? I don't know how each would feel on it's own, but put together into one long session, my core feels great! I really enjoyed that. Your son's going to Scotland! When? That's wonderful!

WendyX - Very nice workout yesterday. You must be tired today! What's your workout plan for today? Weights?

JeanetteX - What another nice weekend you had. It always sounds so lovely. I accumulated all that info about hormones and exercise from many sources when I was pregnant. Probably the best source was Toni Weschler's "Taking Charge of Your Fertility", which I cannot recommend highly enough for every woman, regardless of your reproductive state and stage of life. Her website forums are also a vast pool of information. There was also a book called "Exercising Through Your Pregnancy" (I think??) that was constantly recommended on Cathe's Fit Moms & Pregnancy forum. I think that one talked more specifically about the link, but I can't remember now. I did a lot of internet surfing, read a ton of pregnancy books, etc. (And yup, exercised through the entire pregnancy, with the exception of the 9 weeks of bedrest the dr put me on at 10 weeks). Knowledge really is power when it comes to this stuff.

LaurieXX - I gave up on the July '07 rotation. Not enough upper body work for my liking. How are you finding this lack, given that you just finished all the intense lifting in P90X?

Anointed - You have got to get that infection dealt with immediately. I'm in agreement with the rest who say: go to the doctor NOW!

Swift AmyX - I agree about yoga making a difference. Funny how almost everyone finishing the X feels the same way.

DebraX - So, do you go to your BFF's house for the next ballyhoo? What fun you two must have had.

TraciX - Oh dear, what to say? I'm disappointed that you feel the need to remove yourself from us, intead of coming to us for solace, but I can also completely see why you would. There are so many conflicting opinions and approaches that people take, and sometimes it's hard to figure out what really works for ourselves. Different goals, different motivations, different life circumstances, etc. I'm holding you to your promise to update us next week. Oh, and if you show up in Road Trip pictures, we'll all find out what you've REALLY been up to this week LOL!!! Now, stop reading this stuff and get back to your meditating!

Have a good day,
SandraX

May 07' Premix Rotation

PUB "Up Only" Premix (40 min) & PLB "Up Only" Premix(40 min)

Good Morning!

Still trying to wake up:)

Off to do my workout and I'll be back later to chat! I survived the wedding:p

Hi all,

PUB upper done to exhaustion with many extra pushups/ and 3 sets of pull ups. I went as absolutely heavy as I could. I used this order to work the parts that needed the most work first; back, biceps, triceps, chest, and delts. It was a good workout and I was pumped!

Sandra - Traci sent me the CCabs, but I've only done one segment of it. Too many workouts, too little time. It is perfect for me. I cannot do traditional ab work. It stresses my hip flexor.

Off to shower and go to the grocery store.

Tracy

Okay...back after the bowling outing! My DD was tossing the 7 pound ball down the lane....kind of funny actually. Her friend's mom was like..."Wow...Look at her upper body strength!" I wanted to tell her that it was because DD does weight work with me sometimes...but I figured she would think I was crazy! Anyway...it is just CRAZY hot here today...I won't be going out again unless I really have to!

I will do my workout in a bit...still a little tired from my BFF's visit...may take a nap first and then workout.

Nicole...Time to rise and shine sleepy head! Glad you survived the wedding festivities. Have fun with your pyramids today...I always get a real pump from the chest section of that workout.

Jeanette...Glad you enjoyed your trip this weekend. How hot is it up there? Congrats on seeing a light at the end of your project's tunnel. We want pictures of your beautifully tiled walls now! BFF is best friend forever.....We had a fabulous time...and although overdid it a bit with the alcohol, we really weren't too much worse for wear! Come on over and clean up my house after you get yours done...I promise to give you some firewood for you new stove!

Laurie...Glad you guys had a good weekend...despite the rain and then the sauna like conditions! Have fun with Imax 2...I did it last week and just had so much fun with it!

Swifty...Glad you got all of your chores done this weekend...That is always a good feeling...and I am sure you burned lots of calories even without working out! Your DD must be having a blast at cheerleading camp....My DD made her own little cheering section at the bowling alley this morning. No way will I workout before DD heads to school...I love having the time after I take her to just chill out for a little while and then get going with my workout. It is going to be such a change for me this year to have her gone all day. Her kindergarten was from 9-1...and now she will be in school from 8:30-3:30...What am I going to do with my self?? I may actually get all of those things done around the house that I say I'm going to do, but never quite get there!

Tracy...Good luck with SH legs this time...and have fun with your yoga. I think I am going to do another heavy rotation after I finally finish up my premix one. I wanted to kind of ease back into working out since I had been off for what seemed like forever...I will probably go back to either one body part per day, or some kind of upper body split...using heavy weights. Have fun at the grocery store...that is my absolute worst chore.

Sandra...You're right about those couple of extra pounds...it makes those darn push ups easier....LOL! Next time I see my BFF I will be going to her place in Charleston...and the exciting part is...my DD is going to stay here with my mom..Yipee!! A full weekend to have fun and not worry about DD! I can't tell you the last time that I spent some adult time away. This past weekend was the first time in almost a year that I have been out without DD along. It was nice to be an adult...and not have to worry about what she was doing. I'm sure you've said, but what rotation are you following? A Cathe one...or did you make it up yourself?

Okay...Caught up for now...Gotta go check on the rocks in the tumbler. Then we are on to phase 3...whoopee.

Good morning, NicoleX! I think I forgot my salute to you. How did the wedding go? Enjoy all your upward pyramiding.

TracyX - your weight workouts always put the rest of us to shame. You must be seriously pumped now. I'm glad you got CCAbs; I really think it's your cup of tea. Don't you always have the Trance Dance dvd? Is that anything like her spontaneous, creative segments on the Fluid Power dvd?

DebraX - I know exactly what you mean about the enjoyment of being able to act like an adult, without worrying about the kids. It's a nice feeling, isn't? But they grow up so fast, I'm sure we'll be bemoaning how they never call us, soon enough. About my rotation: I'm doing my own thing for a while. I'm going to do 1 body part/day for 3 weeks, with 30 mins of cardio and some yoga. Do this for 3 weeks using the Gym Styles, then have a week of endurance weights and cardio. If the new series isn't here by then, I'll do it all again using the SH series. That's the plan...for now.

I have a hunch my brother got married in Las Vegas this weekend. Won't know for sure until he gets back, probably, but if I'm not Aunt Sandra by this time next year, I'll be surprised.

My chest is seriously starting to tighten up already. And my biceps, and fronts of my shoulders. Good things were done this morning.

Cheers,
SandraX

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Since I'm a day behind my planned schedule, I'm not sure what workout I'll do today. My chest is still sore from ME. I was thinking of revisting L&B. I might do a B&G premix and integrate Tony's backwork using the book as a guide instead of the L&B dvd. That should give me the rest of the week to recover from any glute DOMS.

Gotta open another window for personals!

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Tracy-X: Wait a minute! Are you telling me this entire time y'all have been using the word "discussion" in reference to our dhs, y'all didn't mean confrontational conversations?!?!?! I can just imagine what was going through you're heads when I said that I never give Phil any warning and just get right into it with him! :7 :7 :7 I'm so excited for you! Are both your sons going to Aspen? How cool that your ds is going to Scotland! I love their accent! I tell you had I not married Phil, I would have seriously sought out a Scot after watching Braveheart!}( You know, not only does the modification suggestion rub me the wrong way, the upper body premix vs. lower body premix one does too. It comes off implying that Cathe doesn't know squat about squats! It's like going into a successful professional interior designer's house and bashing their home and client's home. I don't know why I let that stuff bother me. Moving on... I have another question. (Get used to it! Ha-Ha) How often do you work your triceps to get them hard? It seems to me that mine are look worse now than pre-X. They're bigger, but not as defined. Maybe, I just need to up my cardio to see them. Good to know about the barbell clips. I'll have to invest in those!

Annointed: Ouch! I hope the dentist can bring you speedy relief!

Debra-X: I'm sure you will come back stronger for having spent a fun filled weekend with your gf. I loved bowling as a child. After my parents divorced, my father took my sister and I bowling every Friday night. He would pick us up in his limo (he wasn't wealthy) and I would stand up and dance in the car on the way to the alley. Will you be bowling too? That could count your upper body for the day! ;-) Is that way you're planning on doing L&G tomorrow? I'm not looking forward to the girl's starting school again. It'll cut into my chatting time with you ladies! Maybe this year will be less intense as the girls can all read independently.

Jeanette-X: Hey! I missed you this weekend. Glad to hear the tiling project turned out beautifully! I wish I could say the same. The floors look great! It's the countertops that are giving us problems with a capital P that rhymes with T and that's no good! I don't know why I'm singing. I guess it keeps me from sobbing. Anyhow, I believe Phil added too much water to the non-sanded grout and washed the color out. So, the black grout dried whitish. It looks horrible. He's going to have to grind the grout out and start again. I am so SICK of washing dishes in bathroom. I want a kitchen and I want it NOW! Yes, I'm throwing a mini temper tantrum. Deep breath. Oh, the only reason I lost ~ 8 to 10 pounds from Basic Step is because I hadn't worked out for decades. I was officially a couch potato. I would have done other workouts had I owned them! Eventually, I enlarged my dvd collection and purchased (dumbbells, barbell and weights, bands, tubes, balls, bars, ropes, etc...). Anyhow, PUB and PLB is on my wish list. I went through my Cathe catalog and put little stars on what I want to get. Now, I've gotta figure out which one I should get first. Enjoy your bike ride this afternoon! How far do you plan to ride?

LaurieXX: I'll have to go back and read what you're talking about. Your weekend sounded so fun! What's this about wearing upholstery and a puppet show. Sounds like one of my dreams! LOL Enjoy Imax2. It's on my workouts to do before the RT if I have time list. ;-)

My, this post is long winded. I need a coffee break. BBL to continue.

Wendy :)

Back from my workout..I ended up doing 40 minutes of cardio from Kimberly Spreen's Absolute Kickboxing...plus her cool down section, core section and stretch...I really enjoyed it! Not too dancy which is good for me...and I thought it was really well cued (except for a couple of goofs). Pretty easy to follow the first time through...I 2 of the kickboxing intervals plus one of the intervals where she uses a weighted bar...I know my bar was lighter than hers...but she says not to go over 9 pounds...and the lowest body bar I have is 12...so I just used the bar from my barbell set..I am sure I could have gotten more of an upper body workout if I had used a heavier bar...but today was cardio, so I got the job done by keeping my heart rate up. I am already dreading L&G tomorrow...legs are obviously not my favorite. But it must be done!

Okay...I'm out of here for now. I'll probably bbl to catch up with personals...

later gators!

Hey ladies,

Back for a quick read and hello! DH is back to work tomorrow so it'll be business as usual with my posting:D I'm sad to see Miss Traci gone for a week. I know how times like that can be. It feels like a heavy darkness around your heart and you don't know what to do. I rarely have them but when they come it's tough! I do hope she returns to her friends soon. We'll miss her lots and support her when she returns:*

For the wedding we were seperated from the groom's family so it worked out nicely:) There was literally no interaction between the families and we were seperated by the dance floor. That was the only time they would be around us. I think it's so funny, it was like they had a rich radar! They could smell wealth and stayed away from us middle rungers:)

I will do personals properly tomorrow!

Nicole

Hi,
No time to post tonite, though I would love to. I really, really, really need to work on the bike newsletter. I'll be back in the morning after my abbreviated SJP/Step Blast premix (abbreviated from 90 minutes to 60). Gots to have my computer time in the morning.

See ya,

Jeanette
