Exercise fatigue during pregnancy

Hello! I am 17 weeks pregnant and before getting pregnant I was an avid cathe exerciser. I worked out like 6-7 days a week and I was in the best shape of my life. After I got pregnant I found it very hard to workout due to fatigue from the pregnancy (i'm only doing like 3 workouts a week). On top of that, I have a very physical job during the day so that also inhibits me from feeling energetic when I get home from work (my husband and I are building an 1800 sq. ft home right now). We just finished framing it. This is the 4th house I've helped him build. Anyway......

Everytime I do a cathe workout, especially cardio like Low Max I feel extremely drained after (it's not a good feeling). I used to love the uplifting feeling after working out before pregnancy and now I dread the after affects now. It's weird because while I am working out I feel great and I am enjoying it alot. However, maybe I am pushing too hard. I do use the talk test to make sure I am not overexerting. I certainly feel like I am not overdoing it.

This terrible feeling after the workout is kind of turning me away from wanting to do it. Has anyone ever felt this way while they were pregnant? I really don't have this awful feeling when i do workouts like Muscle Endurance and Gym Style Legs. It seems like it's only when I do step or cardio. Any suggestions?

I felt exactly this way. All I did the first few months was sleep. Working out was so draining that I'd modify and even then I couldn't always finish a workout. I wish I remembered when it got better but it did get better and I went back to working out to Cathe 6 days a week (I didn't do any circuits)until the day my water broke but my job isn't physically demanding at all either which also makes a difference.

The most important thing is to listen to your body- you have a growing baby inside you who is soaking up most of your energy. Besides, your job may be providing you with all the exercise you need right now. Also, remember that your lungs don't have as much room to expand as they did before so you'll become breathless faster. Once your baby is born you'll be amazed at how fast you'll bounce back.

Thank you Wendy! I really miss the "old me" but I know it's only temporary.

Thanks again for your response.

Every pg is so different, but there are constants. Fatigue is a constant in every pregnancy. ;)
Hang in there. It helps to check-in on pregnancy weekly check ins. All the gals are so supportive and can encourage you during your pg and beyond. Some of my bestfriends are here. :D

Why not take a break from cathe? Try the firms or even some easier cias. Gay gasper is my favorite cia instructor when I am pregnant. Come check in weekly with us preggos even if you miss days of workouts.
