I have been feeling this way for... I don't even know now! Some days worse than others but I swear it's been weeks! My diet hasn't changed and gas pills aren't helping. Any suggestions?

Have you tried that new Activia yogurt? I think Dannon makes it. My pediatrician even had me give that to the kids when they had that lovely stomach bug that was going around. She said it really does help repair/regulate the digestive tract.

I'd suggest keeping a diary for a week and making an appt with your doctor to discuss it and your symptoms. I did this when I was having bad "monthly problems" and my doc appreciated the details instead of just telling her how bad I "thought" it was. I think she took me more seriously, earlier, and we started a treatment plan right away instead of waiting.

Good luck!

Yes, for the last couple of weeks, I have experienced this too! Terrible, awful, horrible gas (my poor kids and DH). I think the advice posted above is good...keep a food journal because I traced it back to the bread that I was eating (very high fiber). I also found that yogurt did help somewhat as well. I switched to a bread with less grains in it (but still whole grain :9 )and I'm no longer propelling myself through the day. Laura

I have found that I experience this when I eat products containing Splenda. I recently have made an effort to cut out splenda 100%, but I keep discovering more and more things that it is in! For example, I eat a 100 calorie kettle corn popcorn bag every day from Pop Secret - I read the ingredients and sucralose (splenda) is listed. While it does taste good, it causes major gas and discomfort for me.

Also - Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal makes me crazy gassy! As much as I love it, I had to stop eating it.

Thanks for the advice so far! I am so sick of this I've made a trip to the health food store and here is the plan. I bought simethicone pills, organic yogurt, peppermint tea and charcoal tablets. Yesterday I had eggs w/ spinach and beans for lunch and tomato soup for dinner. Today it's been toast w/ natural pb, tea, yogurt, 4 gas pills, 2 charcoal tablets and a glass of peppermint tea. I'm just going to try this to see if things calm down. So far my stomach is gurgling and I'm belching like a beer guzzling frat boy.

I agree w/the Activia. I tried it like the company said for 2 weeks and stopped....never should have stopped. I believe I'm going to the health food store to by probiotics.

Oh boy do I know what you mean...

I had a stomach virus late last week, and although I did not actually throw up, I was extremely nauseous (sp?) for two to three days. As I started resuming 'normal' foods, I found that everything I ate either gave me heartburn, or made me have extreme gas. I was having ginger ale, dry toast, Kavli crackers, it did not seem to matter. At one point, even drinking a sip of water gave me heartbearn. My symptoms are finally tapering off, thank goodness.

I am actually glad for Cathe's intermediate rotation that she just posted, because I feel like I am still so weak from the stomach virus.

I hope that your symptoms get better soon........

Thanks for the other advice about the Activia, also. I may try that.

Take care, Sandra S.

How does the Activia taste? I can't stand yogurt and I'm just choking down the vanilla I bought. That's actually better than the fruity ones. Blech.

I also agree on activia. I usually am constipated and have gas and I eat one activia a day and sometimes put kashi go lean cereal in it and I am more regular than ever. I have never been this regular and my stomach isnt near as bloated as it had been. I see results after just one or two days.
