ETP Eating

Has anyone done this? I was checking it out and it would have me eating 1600 calories a day and then 1800. I've always gotten 1200 whenever I do anything online to calculate my max calories to lose weight. It's all based on macro tracking. I know there's a lot of chatter about this but 1) I like the idea of getting to eat while 2) I don't want to derail my workouts by not having the right diet.
Has anyone figured this out? I don't have a full day to meal prep and like to keep things simple.
 
I have some of the material on ETP but haven't read it. I glanced through it. My issue is I don't have the time nor do I like logging everything I eat. I get that it's helpful and all but have a hard time sticking with it.

I've been reading more from Metabolic Effect, which there is another thread on that too. Would be interested in hearing as well if anyone has done ETP.
