Good afternoon ladies!

I see that everyone must be fairly busy if I'm starting this thread! :7 What's going on? Yesterday wasn't Easter Sunday, so I know you're not dragging your tails after the let down from a humongous sugar overload! :+

Well let's see! I've changed my tactics once again. I'm going to switch to one body part per day, with somewhat heavy weights. I've traded for the last few CTXers that I needed and will do a CTX Rotation until May 14th. I really enjoy doing CTX Upper body but it's a long workout and by the time I'm half way through it I can't give triceps, biceps and some shoulder exercises my all! :-( I start feeling worn out. I tried splitting that workout which really wasn't bad at all but then I got this idea!! I know, I know! ;)

But I was reading an old thread of Robin's, who was looking for help from Cathe to slim down and overweight ecto. I'm not necessarily overweight at this point but I have this stubborn poofy lower abdominal that just won't cooperate with me.

Anyway Saturday I did leaner legs with a slightly heavy barbell. Just heavy enough that I could keep up with Cathe but also feel the burn kick in around the 4thor 5th rep of every exercise. It was a great workout. Yesterday I tackled 10-10-10. I thought this was going to be biceps work and wasn't looking forward to it because I saw my barbell sitting there loaded still at 25 lbs. And in my mind I was picturing barbell curls and I knew that was too heavy and I really didn't feel like lightening up the bar. But to my surprise it was triceps work and I picked the bar right up for those close grip presses. I tell ya, by the time we got to the single arm overhead french press and kickback combo I had to drop my weights. Normally I would do those with 10 and 8 pound dumbbells but yesterday I had to drop to 8 and 5, and later from the 5's to 3's. The heavier weight for the close grips really worked my triceps for a change! :D That was another great workout!

Tonight I have Step & Intervals lined up! I'm going to try to fry my chest this evening! It's been a while since I've had a really good chest workout. Yeah, since last week! ;)

I'm hoping the extra bit of cardio and still eating as clean as I possibly can will help whittle away my lower abs! Cross your fingers for me gang! :7

Hope to hear from the rest of my skinny friends soon!

Hey Angie and other Ectos,

I tried to start the thread earlier, but my browser shut down "unexpectedly" in the middle of the post. After that, I was too busy to try again - until now.

Hubby and I just found out we're going to have to move, so I have a feeling my workouts are going to be pretty sporadic for a while.:(

If nothing else, I'm going to at least try to get PLB and PUB in and at least one total body endurance - either ME or PH. That's only three workouts a week, but it may be all I can manage while we're in house-hunting mode.

Julie, I made a note to remind myself to bring that issue of M&F Hers to work tomorrow. I'll try to make pdfs for ya.

Briee, how are ya feelin'? I got a laugh when I read about you using a taller step to sit on while you watched the workout. Seriously, go easy on yourself for a while. I hope you're feeling better this week. I haven't ever been pregnant, so I don't have any unsolicited words of advice to give you.:D

Hi everyone, I was getting worried about you Angela when I didn't see a post yesterday. Glad it's up and running. I'm hangin in there. I am really very thankful, because I was much sicker last time. Now, I'm sick, but I seem to be able to handle it better. Most workouts have been going fine, but a few I'm just zapped, like when I did CK on a 15" step!! x( x( . Just a few more weeks and then I'm usually back to normal workout wise!!

I will comment, with all that added cardio that I threw in one would think that I would have lost weight. I know others have mentioned that cardio is counter productive for ectos wanting to gain muscle and I have to agree. I had a purpose for it with wanting to detox and really zap my system, but it in no way helped me lose weight and honestly I was eating less with my stomach being so yucky and the scale doesn't budge at all!! This once again confirmed, for me at least, to stick to primarily S&H and limit cardio to 2-3 times per week at the most. It was fun, but I couldn't keep that up for any length of time.

Workouts for the week,

Yesterday I did IMAX II 1-5 intervals, and triceps (I did all other upperbody on Sunday - chest shoulder back, and biceps). I added a Cathe ab routine at the end.
Tuesday - LL, abs, and PLB stability ball stuff (I really love this for the hamstrings and glutes - the backs of my legs are finally getting a curve - yippee.)
Wednesday - CTX all step cardio and all upper body
Thursday - CK (hopefully not from the 15" step)
Friday - S&H Legs and PLB ball work
Saturday - Hopefully Upper body heavy work, but I may do CTX Upperbody just for a change.

I'm eternally thankful that dh has installed a bathroom, rough as it may be, in our basement next to the workout room. Some days now I can make it fine through workouts and others I run to the BR and throw up in between sets - oh the joys of pregnancy.

Angela, so why the move? It makes my head spin thinking of moving, but I'm sure the Lord has a purpose in this and many wonderful things come from change, it's sometime just hard to see this!!!! Do NOT SWEAT the change in workouts, sometime this is just what is needed and the three workouts you listed are great ones and will surely keep your body going!!!

Hope you all have a wonderful week, Angie, I did resend that email, did you ever get it?

Hey Briee,

I just did PLB last night and that stability ball stuff for the hamstrings is amazing! I still can't do it all, but I'm getting there. It's wonderful to hear you say you're getting a curve - that's been my big pet peeve. My hamstrings have always looked non-existent. Comes from my Mom's side of the family. We definitely have "apple" tendencies.

I can't believe you're still working out while nauseated. Now, that's dedication! I'm rarely sick like that, but if I am, I don't want to move. I just lie very still and pray for it to go away. I'd rather have almost any other kind of ailment.

My husband and I sold our home and small farm about a year and a half ago to be caretakers on a big thoroughbred farm his boss bought. We were to live there for free in exchange for keeping up the house and farm and taking care of his horses. We were allowed to bring our horses, too. Seemed like a great deal, but he changed his mind and put the farm up for sale less than a year after we moved in! I was not pleased.

However, since it was such a good deal financially, hubby insisted we ride the gravy train as long as possible. Well, the time's up. Boss has found a buyer and we have until the end of June to vacate the premises. The horses have to be off the property even sooner - don't know why.

Sigh. So, the frantic search for a new home begins. It should be easier this time, because hubby's decided to either board our horses or sell them, so we don't have to look for a house *and land* that's within comfortable driving distance of the city where we work.

I hate to move. I grew up in the same house from age 5 to the time I went away to college. I'll be glad to get this over with and I hope we'll stay put for a *long* time.

Angela

Angela, I think PLB stability ball work has been the greatest asset to my leg work, I realize how my hamstrings were lacking prior to this. They are getting much harder now and more pronounced.

I'm so sorry to hear about your having to move, sounds like you had a really good situation, but the Lord always opens a window when he closes a door. I'd tell you that's biblical, but I believe it came from julie andrews in the sound of music. I do know it's true though and I'm going to be praying each night that the Lord leads you to the perfect home. I know it will be tough selling animals, hopefully you'll find a place where you can bring your horses. We have a horse that we just acquired about 1 1/2 years ago and I can't imagine life without him now, he's such a sweetheart. So have you worked with horses for a long time? What part of AR did you say you are from. If I ever get down to Bella Vista which is where my mom lives, I'll have to look you up. Let us know how it's going with the house hunting. It's so pretty down there in the country.
