ebay

I do. For dvd's I would charge 1.50 and vhs's would be 2.00, unless the post man tells me first class would be faster. I have actually seen sellers charge up to 7 bucks just for a dvd and the bidders pay it.

First class will always be faster.

I charge $3.25 for shipping. This covers the postage, the packaging, eBay and Paypal fees. I don't profit from my s/h charges. I just about break even from them.

As far as the actual charges the USPS will cost you... A DVD weighs about 5oz. You have the option of shipping Media Mail (could take up to 2 weeks for your buyer to get it) and the rate is $1.59 for packages up to 1lb. Or you can ship first class which is calculated by the ounce and takes 2-3 days for delivery. A 5oz package costs $1.35.

So as you can see, First Class is a much better deal for you and your buyer. :)

VHS tapes weigh a bit more, probably closer to 7oz. The First class rate would be $1.83 - a little more than the Media Mail rate of $1.59. I prefer to have the item arrive faster and have a happy customer than to save a few cents in shipping. But that would be your call to make.
