Eat to live questions

I would love to get some answers to my questions from real "users" of Dr. Fuhrman's plan.

First of all, I am 99% sure my husband would never give up meat. Do any of you have to deal with cooking for yourself as well as separate meals for the rest of your family? Is it a lot of work or has it worked out ok?
Also, do you have to give up coffee and red wine? I would feel so deprived without my daily cup of coffee and my glass or two of wine each week.
Lastly, do you feel you have lost weight and still been able to build or maintain muscle? I tried a vegetarian diet and gained weight. Is this different?
Just fishing for a little input BEFORE I spend money on the book. I am trying not to spend money unnecssarily these days!

Paula...just so you realize, Eat To Live is not just a vegetarian plan. There are two eating plans...one with animal proteins and one without. At least, that is my understanding of the book and perhaps I am wrong on that. I don't have the book, yet, but have ordered it from Amazon.com. Check out the reviews of it on that site.

Not recommending one protein source over another...just wanted to make sure you knew the book isn't just strictly about vegetarian/vegan eating, so both you and your H could use the plan.:)

Thanks for the reply!
I think I already eat pretty healthy to for me the goal would be to eventually go to Vegan or primarily Vegan (you know 90% of any goal is still good!) but it would have to be something I could modify for meat eating carb loving hubby.
