EAS Betagen for Muscle Recovery????

Wondering if any of you have tried EAS Betagen? I picked some up tonight hoping it might aide in my lower body muscle recovery. I have had some issues with lower body recovery with the new series.

I am wondering if any of you are using this or anything similar with good results? The guy at GNC also recommended glutomin(sp??) I am going to start with the Betagen and see how it does first. He said if I still have troubles to use the glutomin(sp??)

Also, would love any recommendations you have for food to help muscle recovery...other than protein.... I am eating and drinking (via shakes) a ton of protein!
 
I took Betagen last summer doing S&H rotation and following EAS eating plan. I gained 8 pounds during 2 weeks on it (mostly water weights) and became bigger.
I take L-Glutamine now. It helps me with muscle recovery.

Is that normal to gain weight with that stuff? Or do you think it was more from your muscles retaining thier water on thier own?

Hmmmm.... this scares me. Is this why you switched to L-Glutamine? What brand do you use?
 
Betagen contains creatine. And I gained water weight very quickly.
May be BFL program wasn't for me. I lost those pounds on vacation without exercising and watching my diet.
I don't have any preferred brand for L-Glutamine. I just use a cheap one from "Puritan's Pride".

Let us know how you fare with the BetaGen I too was thinking about buying it to help with my muscle recovery. Another thing I noticed in the EAS info package they sent me because I order my bars and protein drinks from the website direct rather than going to GNC. Its recommended that you take the supplements 3x a day and for a whole month before you notice any significant recovery. I'm guessing you've got to condition your body with the stuff before it does any real good. Keep us posted on your results.
 
It is funny..I take creatine now and have experienced NO problems with any water weight gain.. to each his own I guess....

The guy at GNC was right, glutamine helps a lot w/muscle soreness recovery. As for the Betagen, you're better off $$$-wise to buy plain creatine.

I've been using it on a six-week rotation and I've had no problems w/bloating or weight gain and it really has helped my strength gains.

If you want to check this, go to the main board at leanandstrong.com, those guys over there are experts on this subject. I always check w/them on supplements because they're very big on NOT spending money needlessly.
