Early Christmas List

Ok, it's not quite time to be thinking about this yet, but I must admit I've been pondering this since December 26th...

For christmas this past year (because after all, what is Christmas about but getting getting getting?--and yes, I'm being sarcastic, and no, that's not how I really feel about Christmas!) I asked every member of my family to chip in and order me a bunch of Cathe tapes--cheaper for them all, easier, quantity discount, etc. Now, I will be pre-ordering all the new DVD's before the end of the month, and I won't want to get any of the few tapes of Cathe's that I don't have, because they will be coming out on DVD, too...
SOOOOO (to make a long question short!):

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP RECOMENDATIONS FOR VIDEOS OTHER THAN CATHE?
I am specifically interested in great instructors whose tapes are easily modifiable to low impact; step or floor videos. For strength I'd like to mix things up a bit and get some high rep low weight stuff, mostly upper body, but anything with floor work for the legs would be great, too.

Thanks, everyone :)

i hear CIA has a good high rep low weight barbell kind of a thing like body pump..
I think its CIA 2001 or 2001
might check that out.
collagevideo has video clip samples.

I'd vote for Reebok's Intense Moves which is an interval step workout with a little less intensity than Cathe's Interval Max. Gin Miller demonstrates a low intensity version for every interval. For a great high rep low weight upper body workout I'd recommend Karen Voight's Great Weighted Workout. She uses light dumbells (1 or 3 lbs) and I found it to be a great workout. After the upperbody section she does some unique floor work for the legs which uses either 1 lb ankle weights or no ankle weights at all. The moves seems so simplistic but my legs feel really worked for days after doing this tape sometimes more so than when doing Cathe's leg workouts....maybe it's from working the muscles from a slightly different angle. I also just purchased the BodyPump video from collage and previewed it one time. It looks to be a good overall workout. A barbell could be easily substituted for the body pump bar.

Happy Shopping,

Stacy

I agree with Stacy on Karen Voight's weight workouts. I also very much like her Firm Arms & Abs & Lean Legs workouts for the same reasons. They are light weight high rep workouts, which are not my favorite but definitely a good alternative. I have to say, Karen's workouts leave me "feeling it" too. Also, she is a very good instructor on form, particularly when working the abs. Another high rep light weight instructor is Margaret Richard. She also leaves me feeling it, possibly more than Karen! I especially like her split upper/lower body workouts, can't remember the names but she only did one set that way. That's my 2 cents! :)
