Ear problems

All I ever post about is medical stuff it seems like. Anyway, about 2 years ago, I thought I had too much wax build up and tried to clean out the ear. After that, it sounded like music words, phone riniging was computerized. It's the left ear. It eventually went away but came back again a few days ago. I don't have a cold, take Allegra every morning and have no idea what it is or how to stop it. When I hear talking, even my own, it sounds computerized again. Does anyone have ANY idea what this could be????? The drs never really did anything for it the last time so I'm not even going to bother this time.

All I know is I get shampoo and water in my ears and they itch and ring sometimes. But have you gone to an ear, nose and throat doctor?

Also, I know lots of people who swear by the ear candles, but until you rule out medical reasons I wouldn't try it. It involves holding a large cone of wax in the ear, and burning it, while holding a plate below the ear to catch all the "gunk" that comes out. It appeals to me for the gross factor, but I do not think I could do it myself without catching my hair on fire!!

I did go to a dr other than my primary but to tell you the truth, I can't remember if it was an ENT. Really, with the back stuff, I am sick of doctors. Also, the 2 doctors I went to for the ear the last time didn't fix it - it went away on it's own after awhile.

I'm so sorry you're having problems with you ears.

Just an idea, feel free to reject, Have you tried "popping" your ears
after taking a really long, hot shower or sitting in a steamy bathroom? I had serious fluid build up in my ear over 10 years ago from an ear infection and my hearing was so diminished I couldn't hear my 1 yr old daughter laugh when I was giving her a bath! Doctors said they couldn't do anything, my body would absorb the excess fluid in a few months and I'd be fine. Yeah right. Finally my husband suggested I sit in a steamy bathroom for 20-30 minutes and then try popping my ears. It worked!! The steam helped soften the wax and dried mucus that was holding the fluid in. You have to breath in through your nose to bring the steamy air closer to the tube that leads to your ear. By popping, I mean taking a deep breath and holding your nose and mouth closed for a count of 5. It forces air out your ears. It won't force out all the air, just small bursts. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

I'll definitely try the ear popping thing. At this point, it's so annoying, anything sounds good!
