You know, I used to have dreams about having tests that I didn't study for. Getting lost in my school and not being able to find my class. Things like that.

Last night, I dreamed I was at Banana Republic. They were having this excellent sale - $100 sweaters, on sale for $10. And I looked and looked...but the only thing they had in my size was a black crew with a snowman on the front! It was a nightmare!!! I think I woke up screaming.
 
Hmmmm...

Searching for things you can't find (classrooms), choosing among things you don't want (sweater), being given challenges you don't feel ready for (tests), things you expected to be there for you but aren't (classrooms), sweaters as symbols for something else?)

Does any of that speak to you?

How's that for a 25 cent opnion?

My latest vivid dream:

I was talking to a dolphin on an ice floe and she went underwater to see what was going on with the fish and came back to tell me the sharks are turning themselves into men, marrying women, and biting their (the women's) hands off.

Anyone want to take a crack at that one?

I mean, it's gotta come from somewhere, right?
 
Yeah....putting it that way, I can see what the sweater might represent. Definitely, a crew neck with a snowman is a good manifestation. Crews are my least favorite style, they look horrible on me.

You're not getting married soon, are you? Or divorced?
 
Well, this is what I found about dolphins and sharks...

No, I've been happily married for 7 years but I have just recently finished treatment for breast cancer.

I have found that things are rarely their literal representation in dreams.
 
I always dream about being in a storm(s).. a tornado (s) and/or hurricane and running from it .. but it (they) always find me .. always destruction everywhere .. but I am never hurt .. but others are and everything is destroyed ...:eek:

uummm .. maybe a bad day at work??? LOL

How about instead of running from what is tomenting you or bothering you, turning and facing it head on? Or confronting what scares you, dealing with something you don't want to deal with?

Or is there some sort of chaos or change someplace in your life that is particularly troublesome?

When you dream about a good friend that died 3 years ago and in your dream you are talking with her have a good time and then you pause and look at her and say wait a minute you are dead! ;( I've had a few of these dreams. It really breaks my heart.
 
I've had many a dream about loved ones whom have passed away and in my dreams it's either as if they never died or they've come back to life. I always feel sad after them cause it just magnifies the fact that they are gone and how much I miss them!:-(
 
For years now I've been playing fan missions of "Thief". They keep coming out with new ones. As soon as I finish one set of them, then another set comes out.

Anyhoo, my dreams are about going through tunnels, sneaking, like the Thief games I play. Reminds me of when I first got a job and typed my a$$ off everyday for hours on end. I would dream about typing.

I suppose too much of something is not a good thing. I wonder sometimes if I should stop Theifing and have normal dreams like you. Are dolphins, sharks, cutting limbs off, and getting lost, normal dreams?:eek:LOL

I have these too. I've lost so many loved ones lately and waking from one of these dreams is so sad. I lost a young man dear to my heart in an auto wreck last Feb. Recently (I dream a lot about him) I had found a way to travel back in time and was searching for him to warn him about the accident.


Here's one to analyze! I had this last year. It was very vivid and detailed. I am having an affair with the President of the United States. George Bush? Nope , its Jack Bauer!}( :p Marnie
 
Some recurring themes in my dreams:

Being in out of control cars.
Trying to dial a phone and repeatedly dialing the wrong numbers, and having to hang up to start over.
Alligators
Trying to run from something, but having like I'm running through water.

Oh...and the worst...when you're dreaming that you're awake and there's something threatening in the room, but you're paralyzed.

I don't actually dream any of these often anymore, but I used to. Now I just dream about bad sweaters. Sometimes Prince makes his way into my dreams too. We're quite chummy in my subconscious. He's a nice little guy.
 
I have this crazy dream when DH and I first got married, I would dream that I would woke up one morning and hes gone and left No note,I would leave the house to go and try and find him and none of his family lived at the houses they once did,phone #'s were no longer accurate,would come back to my house and someone else would be living in it(sounds like a movie).....crazy!

and this other dream I have is my eyes are halfway shut(feels like a lazy eye lid) and im trying desperatly to see what I only get a glimsp of!

Donna-I also dream about repeatedly dialing the wrong #,I wonder what that means!

I dream about tornadoes all the time, too! I can see it in the distance, and I am always trying to find my loved ones, and an escape route!!!Tidal waves,and floods, too!!! I read somewhere that storms and water represent turbulent emotions. Ya think????
 
These are so interesting. I have 2 vivid reocurring dreams. One I'm on the interstate sitting in stand-still straffic and a tornado comes forms from out of nowhere and is headed right toward me. The other is I'm in a public place and I have to use the restroom so I go to the bathroom and all the toilets are really just chairs or have no seats, or no doors on the stalls and there are people everywhere looking at me, or are just really really disgusting!

That's weird. I have horrible public restroom dreams as well. I've had them for years, and they're always disgusting, filthy places with no doors or privacy, and there's always other people there. In fact, I had one last night. Honest. That's interesting to find someone else who has them too.

Kirspy, well I'm glad someone else has these dreams too, even though they aren't fun dreams. I have different variations on it, like I'm staying at someone's house and the toilet in the guest room has been removed and there's just a hole. These have been going on for a few years with me as well. Weird!! :)

Yeah, mine are always different, but never in a house. But, with the power of suggestion, the next one may be.
