Downloads, need help understanding

I'm interested in downloads. How do you play them? What do you play them on? I'm assuming you play them on your TV. How good do they look?
We have no cell phone coverage. We live in the woods far from towers. No streaming videos no nothing here.
Is there a way these downloads could work for me or not?

Does iTune charge you every time you want to make one of these?

Hi Janey, you download the workouts to your computer and import into itunes, from there you can play directly from your computer to your tv with a special cable (mine is an HDMI cable, there is a different type for older TVs). This setup is very simple as long as your computer is close to your tv.

If you have an iPhone/pad/pod you can also transfer your purchases to your device and play on your tv with either a special cord from apple (about $40) or Apple TV. There are other threads by people who use Apple TV to play videos and they seem very happy with the setup. I have had 2 of the apple cords and both do not fit well into my phone and tablet so I can not recommend going this route. I will probably get Apple TV at some point.

The workout blender may cause some hassles. I use it on a windows computer and have had to reinstall it a couple of times because it stops working for no apparent reason. I think people using macs have less success with the software. The mixes that are available through the blender are nice though, because downloads don't have premixes, you have to make them yourself.

I just realized I didn't answer all your questions. After the initial download you no longer need Internet access to play them. The newer videos look much better than the older ones, and apple/iTunes won't charge you anything unless you buy their cloud backup service. You will need a large hard drive and a backup plan. An hour video can easily take a gig of space and you'll want to have them saved in a 2nd location for when your hard drive inevitably fails. I think SNM will let you download again of it is within a year of purchase but you know your drive will fail after a year and a day
