Double Stroller

Anyone have a good double stroller they love? I'm looking at Peg Pergo's Aria Twin. It's a lot of money and wish I could actually LOOK at it before purchasing it, but I haven't found a store that sells double strollers, except the tatem (sp?) ones. I think I'd prefer a side by side. Opinions would be great!

Melanie, I looked at the aria when I was shopping for a double stroller, but I bought a Maclaren Rally Twin (it is the cheaper of the 2 maclaren side by side doubles). I have had it for 3 months and so far it has worked well. I think there are some features better on the aria and some better on the one I picked. But, overall, I think the frame on mine is a bit sturdier (the aria was wobbly from side to side - probably due to not having wheels in the middle which some see as a pro, since you can bump into them, but I never bump into them anyway) and the seats are slightly wider. Plus, it depends if you like that bar across the front of the seats. The Rally Twin doesn't have it. Also, mine has pushing handles and the aria has a bar. It depends what you prefer. I find that I can still push mine one handed. Anyway, hope you got something helpful out of my blurb here!

Oh, the best price I found for mine was at www.tinyride.com

I thought of one more thing: the aria is bulkier when closed than the rally twin. The rally closes fairly compactly.

Melanie- I have an older Maclaren that works well enough. My kids are a little older (5,3, newborn) and I find I use my Peg Perego Pliko more than the double.

Anyway, my advice is to check out the stroller forum on the www.babybargainsbook.com sight. They are very helpful.

good luck. I'd buy another stroller too, but we have six strollers and my husband has cut me off.

Hey Melanie! I had the Maclaren Rally Twin, as did two of my good friends. I returned it because after paying $303.00 after taxes, my 3 year old didn't like the ride because the small 4" wheels made it too bumpy for her and the foot rest was just a flimsy rubber strap. She seemed to big for it and my 3 month old seemed too small. My friends love it though for their children who are closer in age. I went with the new Baby Trend Sit-N-Stand because of the price, weight, new carseat adapter, one-hand fold, high child weight limit for both seats (45lbs.) and large wheels and it's not at long as a regular tandem stroller. I'm not sure of the age of your children but it does work better with an older (probably at least age 2) and younger child combination. They are very popular due to price and the fun of the jump-seat/stand option for the older children (I have actually fit two three year olds in the jump seat and my 3 month old in the infant seat!). They run about $150.00ish. I got mine on e-bay new but paid another $39.00 in shipping but it was still less than Rally. Plus, it has made my airport mobility better!

Just purchased the aria twin. I like the bar along the front. I don't think I've ever seen a stroller without a bar. I got a great deal on it at happymothers.com --hadn't heard of that site prior to this purchase. I had to get a different color than I had originally wanted (but it was $60 less...hardly worth the extra money for a particular color). I remember I did the same thing with my BabyJogger. I suppose I'll have to update that next...
Thanks for everyone's imput!

I was hoping someone had actually USED the Aria twin. I was also hoping to try some out, but none of my local stores have them? I don't know why. Most reviews were promising.

HI!
Do you still recommend the Baby Trend double stroller? I need to buy one in the next 7 months and was unsure which is best. When my baby is born, Hannah will be 1.5 yrs. old. The one you recommended sounds great. Can you find it at Babie R Us?

Thanks!
