I don't like vegetables, can i get the same nutrition from just fruit? What nutrition programs do not have alot of veggies maybe? Or supplements?

how about a vegetable soup? you can have so many veggies in soup and you don't even feel it.

there are tons of type of veggies out there. the problem is that we have such a meat oriented society that we don't realize how many amazing veggies there is.

may be do a search and found out about new veggies! there is a lot... there has to be some you like!

or a vegetable soup is a good way to eat tons of veggies.

I don't like them either. I do like salad, so I try to sneak in other veggies, even just a bite or two, in with my salad.

I really wish I liked veggies better cause I know they are so good for me.

Fruits are high in vitamins and phytonutrients, but veggies (especially green leafies) are high in minerals (and most Americans don't get enough organic minerals--that is, minerals from food sources--in their diet).

Regular supplements do not replace real food. In fact, several studies that have used isolated nutrients from supplements, like beta carotene, show negative results from the supplements whereas the nutrients in real food have positive results.

How about a green smoothie? You'd be amazed at how you can hide the taste of greens (the most nutritious veggies) in with fruit. Here's a thread with lots of ideas for them: http://thecathenation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=264957&highlight=green+drink

What about making wraps using lettuce as the wrapping? Use whatever your favorite filling is.

IMO, a diet (as in 'way of eating') is not optimal if it doesn't include veggies, especially green veggies.

i like raw veggies cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, salads etc. it took time to eat veggies. right now with the hot weather i don't feel like steaming but during the cold months i buy frozen veggies and steam them with herbs. it helps, i can get 1 cup at each meal.

as kathryn said nothing can replace real food. its just healthier and will fuel your body more properly then supplements and fake stuff.

It is important to start liking and eating vegetables.

Amanda, it is important for you to start liking and eating vegetables. It is recommended that one must eat 7 or 8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day -- with most of the servings vegetables.

I agree with Kathryn's post that vegetables are necessary. The general rule I follow is only eat fruits and vegetables I like -- in order to make this a permanent lifestyle change. Right now as I post this I am mixing onions, red peppers, and tomatoes in with chicken, and serving that over a small portion of curried rice. And I am also preparing some peas. I like all these 4 vegetables, so that's what I eat. And like you I do not like many green vegetables, but I like peas.

You must eat vegetables along with fruit. It is as necessary as exercizing 6 days a week. All these are part of life.

Another thought, Amanda.
There are a couple of books out (at least) about how to slip veggies to kids in a way that they will like them (like pureeing them and putting them in brownies), one of which is written by Seinfeld's wife (that's all I remember, but it might help you find it, LOL!). You might pick one up and get some ideas for incorporating more veggies into your diet.
