dog advice for puzzling prob

My 2 1/2 year old mix, who used to greet every other dog in a friendly manner, seems to be changing! We just went for a walk, and while my little pom is almost oblivious to other dogs, my mix lunged and growled at two we passed. I'm so puzzled, because this seems to have happened overnight. Could it be that about a week ago, in town, we passed another dog who wanted to rip my two dogs to shreds? She also seems to be a lot jumpier and demanding. I've started to reinforce some basic obedience training (making her sit and down to wait for a treat, while I give the other dog one first, etc.) Any advice from you dog lovers out there would be appreciated.

If your dog was threatened by another dog recently, it is very likely she is reacting in a defensive manner as a result. Do what you are doing - reinforce her obedience training on walks, keep her on a shorter leash - literally - and maybe try to engage her when she starts barking at other dogs. Come down to her level and talk to her when she does it. She's probably just scared and is jumping at every dog as a result.
