do gym style or slow and heavy 2x's per week? if so what is your cardio like with this and what results have you seen going from 1 to 2x's

Personally, when I was lifting heavier weights, each bodypart go worked hard once a week with the Gym Styles or the S&H series. Then the cardio was in the AM...30-45 minutes of whatever I felt like. One of the weekend days was a workout like DM or Cardio Fusion and abs, the other day was a rest day. If you want to work a bodypart more than once a week, I would do a three or four day split, like the new workouts.

Results? I had always worked out this way, for years and years, I have pretty good muscle hardness and maturity, but can get too bulky looking, especially if my diet gets crappy, so since my surgery, I am trying a new approach to working out.

Pilates, yoga, the Squeeze, B&G-no weights, and circuit type training done outside along with walking. I am smaller than I was three months ago and am liking my results with this particular style of training. :7

Hi tneah,

I'm glad you've found a way to adapt your workouts after your hip surgery. My knees complain if I do high impact or heavy LB wts so I'm always on the lookout for different exercise options. Can I ask, are you using Fluidity workouts at all? If so, do you recommend them? I'm planning ahead for Xmas and wondering if I should put Fluidity on my wish list. I took Bar Method classes a few years ago and really enjoyed them (it just got too expensive) I already own the Bar Method Tapes and Lotte Burke ones but they are so much less intense than the live classes. Any thoughts? TIA!

Chocolate IS the answer, regardless of the question.

I don't have Gym Styles, but I have Pure Strength and Slow and Heavy (just got SH, have yet to try them!). I am doing the PS workouts twice a week with cardio - I'll do a short HIIT workout (25 minutes) with the leg workout, and then on both upper body days I either do a long Cardio Coach (50-60 minutes) or a 5 mile steady state run. After six days of that, I take a rest day, making a nice week long rotation. I have been doing this for a few weeks and plan on doing the same thing with Gym Styles. I'm really enjoying it, love the results, and I love the split routine and being able to get my cardio fix.

I wouldn't do Gym Styles or Slow and Heavy twice a week: muscle grows during the recovery phase, and the workouts 2x/week would not give me enough recovery (unless I went lighter on weights, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the workouts).

I might, however, do a second lower-body workout (so two upper-body workouts and two lower-body workouts per week) with either series.
