Does anyone have an online workout buddy?

Charlotte's post about the challenged/personal trainer pairing got me thinking.... does anyone here have a workout buddy they check in with online? The reason I ask is lately I am SO unmotivated for some reason and I think doing something like that might help me be more accountable. So I am wondering...

Do you have an online workout buddy and does it help?

If so, how did you pick a person that you could be compatible with?

I used to have one -- Lisa (LisaLD), but I haven't seen her on the boards for a long time. We used to do S&H together. Since the series is so mental and my brain likes to flit and flutter, she really helped me hang in there. (Lisa, if you're lurking and reading this, I haven't forgotten you.:) ) I don't remember who picked whom... I think through our e-mails we simply decided to do an S&H rotation together.

I also used to check in with a group of ladies. We had no particular goal except to get a workout in during the day. Our goals and pace were all different. That helped me so much as well.

Nowadays, I check in to see what everyone is doing and what everyone has accomplished. I'm always inspired by that.

I have one, a super sweet hottie from this forum! She e-mailed me one day towards the beginning of this year regarding P90X. We became friends over time, e-mailing each other more and more. Before you know it, we were e-mailing every day.

Then she ordered P90X and once it came in, I decided to do the rotations with her. It is super cool because we are doing the same workouts on the same days! We share tips, DOMS woes, food tips.

At this point, our e-mails are half workout, half personal life. I love having her for a buddy! I look forward to her e-mails every day. Her opinions and input are always so helpful. I can honestly say she is one of my dearest friends!

I cannot say my buddy keeps me in line and gets me to workout and vice versa. That is part of the beauty of our friendship...we are both the type that does not ever miss a workout, we get it done come hell or high water...PERIOD. We are both super set in our workout habits, neither one of us has ever said "skipped my workout today".

She is the absolute best, I really love her!

I'm 35 and live in the UK (no kids) but the best DH!
Really looking to kick my training up a notch and get some serious results. Have lost 20lbs in the last year (now 126) but need to reduce body fat and gain muscle. Have almost all of Cathe's dvds but need a kick in the butt to maintain w/outs.

Would be great if someone wanted to take on this 'challenge'!!! I'll be keeping my finger's crossed. You can always email/PM me and let me know if you're brave enough :) :)
