Does anyone else feel bloated sometimes?

For the last 2 evenings I have felt uncomfortably bloated. And I hate it! I don't look as bloated as I feel though, which I guess is a good thing.

Im wondering does anyone else get like this? I have read alot about people having reactions to certain foods, like wheat, and cutting it out of their diet.Im wondering if this is what I need to do.This is what I ate yesterday and I will be totally honest, no shaking fingers at me:)

B-banana (before my workout)

Workout, HST,50 min run and CTX T,B,S

L- WW english muffin,2 egg whites,1 egg,cheese whiz
S-a little mini cake
D-1 small chicken breast,broccoli,brucetta,and 3 onion rings.
and a small cookie of course.

Thats it.I was so stuffed after dinner and I barely ate anything and there were things left on my plate.I went to bed 5 hours later and felt the same way but I was thristy so I had 3 glasses of water in this time frame and I didn't pee.Which makes me think I am retaining water...BUT dinner wasn't salty. And I am waking up with the same feeling and I am still not hungry...15 hours later.
Anyway...any advice? I don't get like this very often but when I do, I really hate it.

Hi Lori,
I don't have any solutions, but I go thru it too. So many times I'm just not hungry at all, so when I actually have hunger pains, I like it! And after any hard bike rides, I usually gain 3# or so. Think it's the muscles holding onto water. After a few days, it's gone, only to return after the next big bike ride, rinse and repeat!!! I know I really have to watch my salt intake.

I know, it's the pits. I hate that gassy, bloated feeling. Hope someone else can come up with a solution.

I cut out wheat and dairy for awhile and it seemed to help. Now I eat them but not as much. So far, it has been better. If I find it happening again I will cut out the dairy and wheat again for awhile.
I also drink some Yogi Tea (peach detox with dandelion) when I feel bloated and always try to get at least 80 oz of water a day.

Yeah there probably is a bit of salt there but do you really think that 1 tsp of cheese whiz and 3 onion rings would make me feel so awful? I think I am getting weirder as I get older! ;)
Lori:)

Cheez Whiz is pretty much orange colouring, edible oil product and salt. If your body isn't used to that, then yes, I think it could make you feel awful.

Lori, onions do it to me every time! I can't eat them at all, I get to be about twice my normal size around the waist whenever I do eat them. x(

Ive never had a problem with onions. The only time I usually feel like this is when I eat alot of spinach EVERYDAY, for like a week.I feel better after i use the bathroom of course.:)
Well, it is almost 12 here and I am starting to get hungry. But I know, as soon as I eat the feeling will return.Ah....I just won't eat ever again:)
Lori:)

Just wanted to throw in there that it may not be bloating you are feeling, but gas from the brocolli. It is funny that you mentioned feeling bloated when eating a lot of spinach. My stomach felt painfully bloated last night after dinner and I ate a slice of spinach quiche that I made (Weight Watcher's cookbook recipe, very yummy). Anyway, I lately have made one quiche on the weekend and have a slice of it for a really quick dinner on weeknights. It has a lot of spinach in it and I am wondering if thats what is making my stomach hurt sometimes. But I don't want to give up my quiche! It is so good and doesn't feel like diet food.

Diane, Spinach makes me feel bloated and gassy but I figure its well worth it.Its just so good for you.The other day I went to the store and there was no spinach there so I bought a bag of mixed greens.I ate it all weekend and I didn't feel the way spinach makes me feel. You would think greens are greens, right? I just hate feeling bloated when I don't know what caused it.

I think my DH was seriously considering divorce around 3AM last night. I tried flax seed for the first time yesterday, and my body is having a hey day with it. So, yes, I get that way sometimes, even on a very clean diet. But, if it's due to a clean diet, then I don't look that bad. I had cookies (lots of cookies...;( ) on Sunday and I swear I gained 2 inches around the waist. If I eat a lot of sugar I don't feel bloated, but I LOOK it... Go figure.
