Do you have 'dedicated' sneakers.

The post about the fitness equipment and another (actually a few) posts about OCD got me laughing at myself.

DBF laughs at me all the time too. In my workout area, I've got my aerobics sneakers lined up right on the edge of my rubber mats so I can slip them on without stepping on the 'dirty' basement floor. My running sneakers are also lined up right on the edge of the treadmill for the exact same reason. Never do these 2 pairs touch my basement floor. Never do I do aerobics in my running shoes, or vice versa. NOW...when it's time to ride the stationary bike, I will carry my aerobic shoes to the bike, sit on the seat, and put them on!

LOL! How dedicated are YOUR sneakers? LOL!

Gayle

The sneakers I use for my workouts are not allowed to go outside. Not even into the garage. And certainly not in the basement. When I get my Rykas, my current sneakers will be demoted, and allowed to go outside for fitness walks and bike rides. The Rykas will then be my indoor-only shoes. Yes, I am a sneaker snob too. ;)

I like to have my sneakers match my outfits or pretty close to it. I get teased about it too. I don't want to look like a dork!:D

i have dedicated workout sneakers.. and they have never been on me feed outside of the house! they are only for working out!

i also have to match.. even though the only ones who see me are hubby, the dogs and the cats! getting to wear cute outfits is one of my motivations!

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

My Ryka Rhythms never leave the house, my running shoes are used for just that and that only and I have 3 other pairs of sneakers that I wear all over the place.

I have 2 pair of Shox. The fabric ones that are all soft & broken in are my step shoes, they used to leave the house but they don't anymore. The pleather ones that are white w/gray accents are what I wear to the gym. They're prettier but they're not quite as comfy.

My workout shoes never go outside the house. Once they are used and abused, they are "demoted" to Regular Outside Shoes to make room for The Replacements. And then when those get too dirty, they are further "demoted" to Lawn Mowing Shoes!

Angie

Angie, too funny! I demote my shoes the same way, even to the point of demoting old shoes to lawn mowing shoes. And here I thought I was the only one.

I demote my shoes too! Currently, my two pairs ago of running shoes are used to garden and cut the grass, my one pair ago running shoes are used for going out on walks and doing fun stuff with my daughter outside, and my current running shoes are not used for ANYTHING but running.

My workout shoes NEVER leave the house, ever. No dirt on those babies. My one pair ago workout shoes have not yet been allocated a purpose in life. They sit sadly waiting to see what I have in store for them. They are feeling underused and overshadowed by the new loves of my life, my Rykas:)

RE: lawnmowing shoes.

LOL Angie, I do the same 'rotation' with my shoes. Once they've been lawnmowing the next stop is the trash. Like the workout shoes that never go outside, the lawnmowing shoes never come inside.

I just bought a new pair of shoes, used them twice, and this morning during LoMax the new puppy was running around the background with one of DD's dolls. Not thinking, I ran outside after "Becky" and am so bummed that my brand new Rykas touched dirt.:( And it took 20 minutes to catch the darned dog! Which I considered a workout bonus.

I do the demotion thing all the time. Every now and then, I forget, and find myself at the grocery store in my workout shoes!! They're never the same after that, I swear.

All my shoes are lined up by my step in my living room. The one thing every person says when they come in (regardless of how many times they come to my house!) is "Wow. You have a lot of shoes!" and then I feel the need to explain the reason why I have each pair... 2 pairs for running, so my feet don't get too used to the same pair, 1 pair for indoor exercise, 1 pair for walking and errands... ;)

Not only do I have dedicated sneakers..but I have two pair! I have Ryka Rhythms and an Avia crosstrainer. Neither pair ever makes it out of my workout room!

Yes, they are lined up on my high step just waiting for me every morning...and when I am finished working out, they are put back exactly as they were to wait for me the next day...um...gotta go...the OCD police are at my front door!

Tammy:eek:

I wear my workout shoes only to workout, and never out of the house. Once I've used them long enough, and some of the cushioning may be gone, I "demote" them to regular hanging around shoes, if the style is right.

I will wear some of my running shoes to work, but I have 8 pairs of gym shoes, 3 of which are Freddys which I love for high impact. I have 3 pairs of running shoes. They are all in "like new" shape just because I have so many & switch out daily. Also, I refuse to treat my feet poorly & I will ditch a pair as soon as the cushioning is not any good.

I have Rykas for Cathe.... I never wear them outside. However, a couple of weeks ago I was traveling for work. I was hoping to get to workout, so I brought them with me, and ended up walking down to the fitness room in my socks.... carrying my sneakers. I put them on and used the treadmill and the workout equipment and took them off to go back upstairs. I guess that was kinda dorky. lol :)

Cheers,
Marie
