Good morning,

Sorry I haven’t checked in since last week. My son called us on Friday, telling us our house got hit by lightning. Rain was coming in from the side and the top of the house. Also the AC was broken; we had to get it fixed yesterday. We had a friend check the house, but he couldn’t figure out where the rain came in. DH and I had to fly to Texas on Sunday; it was too much for my kids to handle. We have a lot of fixing and cleaning to do.

My back is still hurting like hell, all the cleaning isn’t helping. I could have started this tread, but I am too tired. Haven’t worked out since last week, will try to break away tomorrow or the next day. I will check in when I can. I will try to catch up on personals hopefully today.

Hope you all doing ok. See you later.

Morning

Belinda-So sorry to hear about your house:( Where did the lightning hit? so frustrating for you.

It was a close call yesterday, the water was within feet from my place( the "good grief,my house is flooded" thread on OD has pics) it was sooooooo chaotic yesterday.

I woke up this morning and the water level is about 5ft lower....what a relief:confused: Thanks for all the fingers crossed.

The schools are closed agian today, so my kids will be home driving me bonkers. Ive got a cardio coach on tabs later after DH wakes up....never did do anything yesterday. I did get one of my 1400 calorie days out of the way, yay!

Hello and good morning to you all,

Oh Belinda! Wow your kids are lucky that they weren't injured from the lightening! Houses can be fixed easier than kids. I am so glad that they are safe.
Be careful with your back and let the kids do as much as possible with a little coaching from you. They need to learn how to do things for themselves and this is a good leaning lesson. Take Care!

Amelia! Your having a time with stuff too! I was watching the news last night on all the flooding in GA, WHAT A MESS! Did the water get into your house or basement? It looks like the storm is fading finally! Keeping my fingers crossed that the water subsides quickly before the next rain storm!
Nice job on your calorie control! :) I hope that you are able to get in your run later.
My son is home again today. He is on meds for his ear infection but doesn't have a fever of any concern. He just feels sick from the cold and tired which is to be expected.

Hello to Karen and Sherry! Look forward to hearing your goals for today. :)

I am planning on doing Low Max shortly. I just need to wake up! I am really tired from not sleeping very well for the past couple nights.

Have a good day and workout.

Heidi-WTG on your workout...Very impressed with your pullup/chinup workout!!!! I kinda gave up on doing chin-ups and pull-ups for now. I tried to do negative pullups and i injuried my arms:confused: is there another way to modify them besides using the chair?

the water came close to my place...but never came inside. There is a thread on open discussion that has pics of it. ( "Good grief,my house is flooded" thread)

The sun is shinning!!! Its been about two weeks since i seen it....:D

Cardio Coach Volume 6 done. I only did the first and second challenge,it was still 48mins...burned 403. Thats good enough..

have a good tuesday evening:)

Hello Ladies,

My name is Allee. I am new to working out and this site. May I join ladies? I am looking forward to losing weight and making some friends and supporters along my journey. Does anyone have any good workout/eating tips?

Hi everyone! Late post today. I finally have a chance to sit in front of the computer. I did Step Jam this morning (another oldie for some cardio first thing), then got everyone out of the house (which includes taking DH to work because his truck died). Once back home, I did P90X Plyo, followed by a quick shower and on to a massage. I had a gift certificate for this treat for me. I met my aunt for lunch - had a great black bean burger. I got home just as DD was getting home from school and we could go over some school work, before heading out again to get DS from cross country practice. Now we're getting ready for dinner (pizza - not the healthiest, but quick) before heading out to scouts tonight. I'm fairly certain I will sleep well tonight.

Belinda - Sorry about your TX house. I agree with Heidi - direct the kids to do the work so you can give your back a break. At least the kids are alright.

Amelia - Glad the water is receding. I've heard how bad it is down there. Great job on watching your calories. I need to get better about that.

Heidi - I love Low Max - that's one of my fav's! I'm doing P90X in order to work up to STS. Then maybe I can do a pull-up, too!

Allee - I'm recently just back with this group (like as of yesterday). Everyone is welcome. Best tip is to be consistent.

Oh no - DD just decided to make cookies. Way too hard to resist. Maybe just one!

See you all tomorrow.

Hey way to go with your workouts Sherry and Amelia! :)

Just peeking in quickly...cooking dinner right now.

WELCOME Allee!!! I agree with Sherry that consistancy is key. Making a plan of action either by following a rotation or making up your own. Also, good clean eating and limit the junk foods. No chips, soda or anything fried because these will make your stomach feel bloated. We have enough to worry about as woman! ;)

Oh Sherry: Keep working on the pull-ups and chin-ups you'll get there! ;)

Off to check the food....

Hello to Karen and Belinda!

Hi Sherry and Heidi,

Thank You. Wow!!! I have no idea that it going to be like this. Clean eating, huh? Better clean my fridge.

I ordered a few of cathe's dvd. Basic Step is my first. I plan on doing that first thing tomorrow morning. I also have Low Max.

What other dvds do you recommend? Thank You.

Be back later,
Allee

Hi Allee,

Better start making that Christmas wish list! ;)

What do you have for exercise equipment? This is a good place to start when trying to figure out a new exercise regimen. Remember that walking, hiking, running or biking outside is free! ;) They are all good cardio options and having options is the spice of life right? ;)

Rotations in general are doing one day of weights upper or lower and then the next is a cardio day with abs. Can't forget these! ;)

I really like the Pyramids and Gym Style series for upper and lower. A combo of both with cardio? My pick would be Cardio & Weights or KPC.

Don't get discouraged when learning new step routines. A couple times through and you'll have it down and have the best workout and fun ever! ;) I always smile during these step workouts no matter how many times I have done them.

Well those are my thoughts but I am sure the other girls will have great suggestions too. :)

Have a great evening!
