Do I Need the "High Step"?

Hi Cathe:

I'm really interested in purchasing the High Step - Advanced DVD but I don't have the "High Step". It is not available in Canada, and the import taxes are astronomical. Plus I live in a small, one-bedroom apartment so space is extremely limited. My living room has become a gym and my adjoining dining room is littered with barbells and dumbbells! Even my cat-tree has "grown" 25-lb dumbbells and 10-lb plates - strange fruit, I know!

Anyhow, I only have a full-sized Reebok step that goes to 8 inches.

Is it possible to do the cardio portion on the High Step - Advanced DVD on my Reebok step (maybe turning it lengthwise?) and perhaps use my handy-dandy 12-inch foot stool for things like leg presses, etc.?

Patricia
P.S. I started doing your videos seven years ago to supplement my gym classes. Now, it's the other way around!

RE: Do I Need the

Hi Patricia! I think you will be able to successfully modify the workout using your full sized step at the narrow end. Preview it first after you get it so that you know where you will need to make your modifications. Enjoy, if you decide to go for it:)

Hi Cathe!

Many thanks for your quick reply! I think I'll go for it -- WHOO-HOO!

Patricia
P.S. Sometimes I wish I lived in the U.S. You seem to have so many options for buying workout equipment, like the High Step. All we have are hockey sticks and golf-clubs!

RE: Do I Need the

I know what you mean Patricia. I live in Canada too and it is so hard to get great workouts and fitness equipment.

RE: Do I Need the

I know what you mean! I can't buy the high step either because I live in Puerto Rico. Thanks for asking this question I also wanted to order the new dvd but I didn't know if I could modify. Now I know and I'll buy it soon. :+

RE: Do I Need the

Hi, I actually did the advanced today and tried it with the step going the long way at first. I did not like that. So what I did, was put the step the normal way and any side to side moves, I did "off the end", and any front moves I did from the front. It actually worked very well. I have two steps, and a Firm fanny lifter which is 14 inches. I set one step at 10 inches, one at 8 inches and then used all three. A little cluttered, but the moves don't take alot of space, so it worked!

RE: Do I Need the

Thanks, Dorothy!

I'll try your ideas. Plus it's good to know that the moves don't take up much space 'cause mine is very limited.

Just ordered the DVD from CK Sales here in Canada yesterday. Quite looking forward to receiving it!

Have a great day!

Patricia
