Discouraged

I know I have only been TTC for 3 months but i'm a litte discouraged today.

Im supposed to be getting my monthly visitor today. It hasnt come yet, but I can feel it. So i'm a little down in the dumps becuase it means i didnt have any luck TTC..

I just got off the pill in March and I know it may take my body time but I cant help feeling a little sad. Maybe its a bunch of other factors going on in my life right now thats putting me down in the dumps. Just thought i'd post here where people understand :) Thanks for listening!

I'm sorry you're feeling down. The whole process is a big test of patience. Once you do conceive, it's such a worrisome waiting game then too. Don't get too down. I believe the average time to conceive is 6 months. And maybe you're wrong about this month. When I conceived (each time) I felt crummy --just like it was the time of the month. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Thank you for your kind words Stephanie. I'm waiting for my monthly to come but so far nothing. it used to come on tuesdays with the pill and since i've stopped taking it i still get it on tuesday. I could also be irregular now that i'm off it. So maybe i'm not tracking my fertility properly. Sometimes its just by chance and not planned but practice doesnt hurt i guess :)

I know 3 months isnt that long of time. And maybe its not the right time anyway. I mean, my husband has 3 kids so we do not have a lot of money with child support and all. Plus we both work full time - in a tough job. But that shouldnt stop us right? I guess we will manage somehow.

I'm feeling very tired today but i think ecause i got up and exercised early. I did Amy's Hi/Lo KNockout and that is a long sweaty workout. I also feel a little stuffy this afternoon. And crampy. So maybe its just a combo of all those things that have got me down.

Monday is my first wedding anniversary so i'm looking forward to that. maybe this weekend will be more cheerful. :) Thanks for your reply.

With my first pg we tried for 8 months and I will never forget that hopeless, discouraged feeling. On a Wednesday night I was *sure* my period was coming but it hadn't started yet. I was bawling in bed, swearing we would just give up trying. Well, the next AM, no period. So out of pure habit I took a pt. Positive! I *RAN* out of the bathroom screaming "2 pink lines!" over and over. DH didn't know I had even taken the test because we were "sure" we weren't pg. I was hyperventalating and we were both sobbing. Your day will come too - hang on!!:D

Well I didnt get mine yet, it should have been here today. but i have the symptoms of getting it so maybe getting off the pill threw off the cycle.

Thats a very encouraging story you told me, thanks for the kind words. When I finally do conceieve i'm sure i'm going to have a million questions Glad there are people to come to :)

Anytime! We'll be waiting for you on the preggos check-in!;-) :D
Let us know whether or not it comes! We'll be crossing our fingers it doesn't!

Please keep us posted. If your monthly doesn't come, early pregnancy tests are pretty accurate. I posted a thread similar to yours years afo, I believe entitled why is it so hard to get pregnant. This was during my first months of TTC. Every month when my monthly came I was tearful and irritable. I did read the bnook TTC of your fertility and began temp charting. After 2 months of temp. charting I was pregnant. PS. I am now the mother to 2 girls.

I had the same "I know my period is coming" feeling. I distinctly remember sitting in the movie Juno (just had to be a movie about pregnancy), feeling so bummed out because I was having such bad cramps that I just knew I must be getting my period soon. Well...those weren't menstrual cramps! I took a preg test the next morning, and it was positive :)

So much easier said than done, but try not to get too discouraged. Like you said, you just recently got off the pill, and it can sometimes take a little time for your body to adjust. GOOD LUCK!!!!

The road to getting pg is definitely an emotional one, but hang in there because like everyone said, for most people it takes time. There are a few "lucky" people who get pg after the first month, but most people take awhile. I say you're still in the early stages since it's only been 3mos off the pill. Good luck and have fun trying!!

I am so sorry! I know exactly how frustrating it can be...We went through years of infertility...But, it does work out! I started to really meditate and breath when I got down or stressed about the whole thing. When I was fearful, I would listen to music and literally just breath and be in the moment. Life works, I promise.

Hang in there - you are not alone in your feelings. It will work out.

I'm another person who was SURE I was about to get my period the month I got pregnant. A lot of PMS symptoms are similar to early pregnancy symptoms: breast tenderness, crampy feeling, mood swings, etc.

Good luck...keeping my fingers crossed for you too!

PS--Sorry for butting into the pregnancy forum...I'm all done having my babies (have 3 kids), but I love lurking here. It's like a trip down memory lane!

No :'(

Not this time....i got you know what today... hurmph!
Thanks guys. life has got me down right now and this is just another factor that doesnt help. But I know it will pass and we will just keep trying when we can. Thanks for your words of encouragement.

I'm so sorry. I truly know that disappointment. It *will* happen for you and when it does you'll look back and say "oh, man! If we had gotten pg when we initially were trying, it would've been so crazy!". That was always how we looked at it anyway. What's meant to be happens but we don't usually see it unless we're looking back.

One thing that might help is a WONDERFUL book called Taking Charge of Your ferttility.. Its be Toni Wesschler (sp?). It will teach you EVERYTHING you ever wanted to know, and then some!, about conceiving. Fairly cheap. If you have any questions about it there are lots of glas here who are familiar with it.

Good luck! Keep us updated!

Sending hugs your way. :) We've been TTC on and off for 2 years or so now. It's so strange, b/c we already have 3 healthy children? Oh well, God has his reasons.

Hang in there, and make sure you don't forget us with your big announcement!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you everyone. Its a new cycle now so just try and try again :)
My period just finished yesterday so im wondering when the best time to ttc would be..

It is hard to know when to try, not everone has a 28 day cycle. The book taking charge of your fertility is great because it helps find signs that you are close to ovulation. I conceived on day 28 of my cycle, had I not been doing temp. charting, I would have assumed I already ovulated.

My sister had great results with this book also.
