Digital Cameras

Nice to see you again, Trevor!

Thank you for all of the info. I know rechargeable batteries are very important. The reviews I've read for the Nikon 3200 battery charger seem to be very good. Also, I've read about optical v. digital zoom. Thanks for mentioning that- I think most people would probably assume digital is better.

Thanks again,
Gina

Also wanted to add that when I bought my Nikon (over a year ago) I bought a 128mb San Disk flash card (the card stores your pictures and a 128mb flash card will store approx. 100 photos, you really don't want anything less than that!) and the recovery time, esp. when the battery was low took awhile, close to 10 seconds. This year, before my vacation, I bought a new 128mb San Disk flash card and the recovery time is now under 5 seconds! I couldn't believe it! DH says it's because of the newer technology in the flash cards. It's like a new camera!

The Nikon eats batteries though. So if you buy one, get two batteries. They recharge pretty fast, about 2 hours, but you don't want to get stuck with a dead battery!

Hi Gina, I didn't read all of your responses but I have a Canon PowerShot A70 and I really like it. It was/is my first digital camera and I was up and running in probably 15 minutes after I opened the box. It is very user friendly. I bought it at Amazon.com because I couldn't find that particular Canon in local stores and through my research of reading reviews this one consistently had good performance reviews.

Make sure you buy an additional flash card for it though because the ones that come with the camera's don't hold alot of photos. Get at least one that holds 70 photos for vacation's.

Also, I have two Hp all-in-one printer's and they are easy-peasey to use with digital cameras. And buy a extra set of rechargeable batteries for your camera too. They come in very handy as recharging can take hours.
