Diane Sue!!! I have a question....

Hey Diane - I remember seeing on the Maniacs thread that you recently bought a plyo mat from Stagestep. I saw that they have one for $50, that's 3.5 x 3.5 feet. Is this what you got? Do you like it? What sort of moves can you do on it?

Okay, that's more than one question...

Thanks a lot!

Shannon, yes that is the one I got. I did the Kickbox plyo video tape to it which was a decent workout lead by Keli Roberts. These video tapes were made in 2002. The fun factor was really not there on the one I did. It has the cushioning and stuff I need. That being said I will say it is not big enough. It stays in place pretty well on carpet or floor. It has a textured back and large velcro strips. I was afraid the velcro strips would tear up the carpet but they do not seem to stick that much. I put it under my step bench when doing step with most of it on one side. It is great for plyo jumps like the lunge jumps and jacks work fine on it. My feet slide better on it than on carpet for pivots and turns when doing some of the Kickbox workouts. I place it in a central area so I can work my way toward it for most of the jumps and jacks etc.. P90X+ Intervals was nice on it because it does not require to much traveling around the room. I guess it just depends on how much space you have to have on the workout. Works nice on the straddle jumps on the bench as well because it can be placed enough on both sides of the bench. ANother thing though is that I have had it move on me some when working out agressively on it. Hope this helps with your decision.

Thanks a lot, Diane! It does help. I work out on tile floor with puzzle mats. I'm thinking it might not stay in place very well if it moves on you, on carpet.

Oh, okay! I put pieces of that non-skid stuff under my mats and then weight the corners with dumbbells and they never move. So maybe there is hope.
