I just checked my TV listing to see if Desperate Housewives was on this week and its not - AGAIN! What is up with this? I so hate when a show that I can't wait to watch isn't on for weeks on end. Why do they do this? Same thing is happening with Everwood. Its not now until somewhere in the middle of April. How ignorant, by then I'll forget what was going on!!! Can you tell I'm mad???

What a CROCK!! E.R. is another show that does that, it will be on for two weeks and then take 3 weeks off. You think these shows would lose viewers because of this..it ticks me off too!!

I just heard today that the next episode will be a double one. I don't know if that's true or not. I'd rather have the show on regularly then have a month off and then a double episode.

It IS very annoying! And I think it has to do with "sweeps." Three times a year (in November, February and, I think, May), television networks set their advertising prices, and they want to have the best, most interesting episodes on at this time, to attract more viewers (viewers who are, more-or-less, "sold" to advertisers) and show advertisers how many people will be seeing their message if they buy time during such-and-such a show. The backlash from this seems to be that in December, March and June, the shows are off the air for a few weeks.

I know! I was very upset to see that it's being pre-empted for Jake in Progress. John Stamos is a cutie and everything...but I couldn't care less about his new show! Of course, I kind of like when my favorite shows aren't on, or are reruns, right now because I'm trying to finish a really good book and am always torn between which I'd rather do.

I'm so disappointed. I asked DH to check the listing and he told me it wasn't on. I didn't believe him and checked myself x(. I'm starting to get frustrated with it and I'm losing interest. I used to wait all week for that show, it's one of the few programs I watch. I completely agree that it has to do with sweeps.
