Designer duds for a whole lot less

I just heard this report on my local news about invitation-only websites that feature huge discounts on designer stuff. I'm not really a designer stuff kind of girl but when they said that viewers of the local newscast could go to "gilt.com/join" and be allowed permanent access without being personally invited by an existing member I thought I'd let you all know. Evidently, there are some really fantastic bargains for serious fashionista's. They gave an address to a similar site but I tried it and wasn't allowed in. Hmm. Myself, I wouldn't know a fabulous bargain on a high-end handbag if you smacked me in the face with it. But I thought some of you would appreciate the tip.

Oh I think I heard about this and actually went to one of the sites, they offer a very limited amount of items, the one I saw had a handbag and a piece of jewelry, I did not really "get it" though...

Yea, me neither. But they sure acted like it was a big deal on my local news. I mostly shop at Target so, clearly, those goods aren't geared toward people like me!
