Deep South GTG - anybody interested?

Hi all -
We've been tossing this around on other posts, so I decided to make it official. Are any of you southern gals interested?

I'm in Arkansas and would love to have it here, but to be totally honest I just don't have the room - I have a small house with one bed and one couch, and asking guests to sleep on tile/concrete slab is quite out of the question.

So let's see what turns up here... and oh, you don't have to live south of the Mason-Dixon Line to join in!

I would love to meet all you southern belles (and Shelley, Robin, Judy, TiG, Debbie, Nance,---well EVERYBODY)! I don't know if I could come or not. We have a crazy summer and fall lined up. We have lots of family visiting from LA, Pittsburgh, NW Ohio. We have weekends set aside to hide out at my in-laws lakeside cabin. This fall we're going to Italy. I'm dying for a GTG but I may not be able to swing one until next year. If I can possibly come I will!

Oh wow! That looks fantastic. And yes! I'd love to come and run with y'all. However, there's the slight problem of $$$$. Being the most visitingest Catheite should come with some sort of stipend to pay for flights/accommodation

Hey don't forget this Southerner!!! Hopefully the GTG can be arranged to be centrally located for all who might want to participate. I'm in North Carolina in the Piedmont near Charlotte. It's not deep south but definitely below the Mason-Dixon line!!!

Hey, it looks like we've got a good bunch coming - but WHERE? Any ideas? And good heavens, when? Soon? Later? If we hold off until the summer, we'd better make darned sure it doesn't interfere if Cathe calls a road trip.

Hey Shannon.... I have no idea where... I'm game any time but I need at least a month notice as my work calendar comes out around the third week of the month for the next month and I want to make sure I am not working on the weekend we chose.

I am definitely interested. I live in Central Texas. I think we should wait until Cathe announces her filming dates and decides if she is going to host another road trip. I most likely could not afford to do both this year. Somewhere like Nashville would be a central location since Jane is in North Carolina. I have plans in June and July, but I am definitely interested depending on when and where you decide to meet. Cathe might decide to wait until next year to host another road trip. If that is the case, we could do this instead.

Nashville wouldn't be too bad. I am eight hours away from Nashville. DH and I go through Nashville the years we go to the AQHA World Show in OKC. I've always felt I wanted to see more of it.

Melody, Shannon - how far are you from Nashville?

Nashville.... don't know. I'm probably about 5 or 6 hrs from Memphis. Can't visualize Nashville right now and need to go find a map.

Okay, here's what we have so far:

Possible Participants:
Shannon - Arkansas
Michele - Ohio
Melody - Georgia
Kara - Tennessee
Jane - North Carolina (needs 1 mo. notice)
Heather - Texas (has plans in June and July; suggests we wait to see if Cathe will hold a Road Trip)
Robin - Pennsylvania
Shelley - Ontario

If we keep this in the south (you two poor northerners will really have to travel...), it does look like Tennesee is our best bet. Since Kara lives in Nashville, that sounds like a logical place to meet.

Now, since Jane needs one month's notice, the earliest we could have this would be around the first of June. After that... beats me.

I have some work-related issues that might make July and Aug. difficult, but I can try to work around them.

Now, all of you who really want to come... what's your opinion?
