Decisions - Weighted Gloves

I have the Turbo Jam weighted Gloves but don't think it is comfortable lifting with the big bulge in the centre of the palm. Has anyone tried any of these. What is your opinion? Are they comfortable to wear and easy to life with dumbells. Do the gloves have the bulge in the centre of the palm, like the turbo Jam ones?

Hi Debbie:

I have both, and another pair of 1.5 each's that you grab onto like the TJ gloves... they all serve their purpose though, so I guess it would just be personal preference... the wrist weights will be more condusive to adding 1 extra lb to db's and bb weights. and the Cathe microloaded gloves allow you to lighten them to .5 lbs if necessary and can be used easily with db/bb's also as they are palmless, so no bulky weights to get in the way...

My only issue with the weighted gloves is that they flop around on my hands as they are one size fits most... I don't like them for KB workouts because of this.. I like to grab onto something when I do KB workouts...

sorry, if I am not very helpful... I guess I would encourage you to try them all and if you can afford a few different pairs, do it :)

Cathe weighted gloves

I have the Cathe weighted gloves and love them, they can be .50 to 1 lb. The weight is on the top of the hand, so you can use with dumbells. Although, I thought I would use for this purpose and it takes so long to get on. I bought a pair of 1lb wrist weights at TJMaxx for $6 to add small weight.

I have used the Cathe gloves for kickboxing and they do flop a little. I would say if you want them for kickboxing you might want to try a glove that has the weight distrubuted better. If you want to use them for small weight increments, it would be good.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your responses.

I really need it so that when I am doing the STS, I can add additional weight before jumping to much. I know the gloves and wrist weights are only 1lb but I think it will be beneficial. I have these kinds of weights and don't think Platemates will work with them. am I correct? If I am wrong, please direct me to the place where I can get platemates for these.

I am leaning on getting the wrist weights.
