Good morning ladies...

Another cardio day for me...I still don't have a shipping notice. But, I am hoping that maybe my hubby deleted or something. If I don't have my DVDs by Thursday, I will contact customer service and check it out. I am hoping that they will come today and I can do one of those workouts today. If they don't show up by workout time, I will have to figure out what to do...Not sure what yet!

Ok, time for breakfast and lessons...

I'm so excited! (can ya tell?)

I think I will got do 4DS: LIS + Abs and then do a Shock Cardio when it comes later!

Kathy: That's weird you didn't get a tracking # or email. Though someone FB'd Cathe last night and told her the same thing, and she said it didn't mean it wasn't coming.

Joanne: Oh , your cookies sound so good too!!! Everytime I hear a new cookie, I want to make it!.... Yes, the PB Kiss Cooies are the ones with the big kiss in the middle. Here's the Lemon Lush recipe. I'm told it's always a BIG RAVE whenever anyone makes it:

Hey Chris: I hope you get your shock cardio today. I am hoping that I get it too. Wow, those cookies sound yummy!!( or are those bars?) I need to write that down and get those ingredients and try it..

Good morning, ladies! Kathy, there is a thread about someone who has no record of the purchase -- I haven't looked at that thread though. I wonder if you picked USPS for delivery you don't get a tracking number? I can't imagine why I didn't pick USPS, since I hate UPS so much, but I seem to have a UPS tracking number.

I've already seen a review for athletic step -- I think that's the step it was -- and they complained about her cueing saying it was like 4DS. People really complain about that cueing -- I think the cueing is ok and it's just that the choreography is harder. Whatever.....

You're going to do double cardio today, Chris? I did disc 7, which is chest, shoulder, bi, and it's one of the discs with the crazy number of pushups. Sheesh it went on and on..... no wonder this thing gets good definition, eh? ;) I complain, but I love it. I did skip one set altogether -- those stagger pushups -- don't like those and somehow I thought it was the last set, but there were many more!

We went to the lights last night and I thought about Chris so much while I was there. Remember how last year I was going to go and you said you'd done it in your are and it just wasn't much of anything and then we went and had a great time? Well, last night it pretty much sucked! First off, last year Larry cut the line, so we didn't have to wait -- last night we had at least a half hour wait, but maybe more, just to get in. Dylan wasn't feeling well and just wanted to go home. We were in the suburu and so the kids ended up sticking out of the sunroof (lots of kids do that, and ours did last year). Well, at one point Larry slammed on the brakes and Dylan went flying forward and bumped his head. That didn't help matters. The whole thing was just no fun. Oh well! We have to come up with some new traditions (though Travis loved it and will want to go back next year, but we won't, I just know it). Oh, the other thing was they were out of the 3D glasses! Oh brother!!!

I got on a bit of a roll with cleaning yesterday -- closets and the desk and just getting rid of stuff. I love that! Hope to do more of that today (though I looked at my closet and just couldn't face it -- will I today?!). Travis has basketball practice.... other than that, nothing....

hope everyone has a nice day! Enjoy your shock cardio packages, ladies....

P.S. Chris, I love it when I have a nurse urging me to take vitamins and all -- it really helps me remember, and I think it's helped! I'm sneezing a lot, but mostly fine -- much better off than Dylan. He wanted to know what he can do to get rid of his runny nose, and I told him to take vitamins, blow his nose a lot, and wait. He said "I'm waiting." :)

Woo hoo!! Chris, I feel your excitement!!! :) :) My Shock Cardios are "out for delivery"! I know the truck doesn't usually deliver to us till around 6:00, so they should arrive shortly after I get home from work. OMG - I thought the lemon lush was one of those frozen slushly alcoholic drinks. ;) Shows you where my mind is!! That recipes looks yummy, though. I may have to try it. Here's the recipe for the toffee turtle cookies:

Peanut Butter-Toffee Turtle Cookies

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup DOMINO Granulated Sugar
1/2 cup firmly packed DOMINO Light Brown Sugar
2/3 cup creamy USA PEANUT Butter
1 large egg
2 cups BISQUICK Original All-Purpose Baking Mix
2/3 cup almond toffee bits
2/3 cup coarsely chopped USA PEANUTS
2/3 cup NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Milk Chocolate Morsels
10 ounce vanilla caramels
2 to 3 tablespoons whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup NESTLE TOLL HOUSE Milk Chocolate Morsels, melted

TIP: The chocolate drizzle on the cookies will harden as it cools.

Preheat oven to 350°. Beat first 4 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy. Add egg, beating until blended. Add baking mix, beating at low speed just until blended. Stir in toffee bits, chopped peanuts, and 2/3 cup chocolate morsels.

Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets; flatten dough with hand.

Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool cookies on baking sheets 1 minute; remove cookies to wire racks.

Microwave caramels and 2 tablespoons cream in a glass bowl at HIGH 1 minute; stir. Continue to microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring until caramels melt and mixture is smooth; add remaining cream, if necessary. Stir in vanilla. Spoon caramel mixture evenly onto tops of cookies; drizzle evenly with melted chocolate.

Beth, too bad the lights outing wasn't good. I know what you mean though. We've had a few of those experiences! ;) It'll still be a family memory, right?! I think the vitamins really help, too. I've been taking lots since I started this cold and it's only been a few days and I'm pretty much back to myself. People are always going to complain about something! I don't think the cuing is so bad in 4DS. I don't even notice any problems with it.

Kathy, hope your package arrives soon. I do remember seeing something about some people not getting shipping notices. Did you try to track it with your phone number?

Today was Christi Taylor's Fit to Dance. Very fun, for the most part. Great music.

It's a ghost town at work today, which is OK! Nice and quiet.

I've feeling a bit paranoid. When Colin had his birthday sleepover last summer one of boys got really sick and had to leave early. Yesterday Jameson had a friend over. He had dinner with us and then started getting a headache. Then he got really dizzy and hot. He said this happens to him a lot - he gets migraines. I gave him a cold pack, but he didn't want any motrin or tylenol. Meanwhile, his dad was on the phone with Jameson trying to find our house. He got there pretty quick. I was worried about the kid - but it sounded like it had happened before. I'm wondering if he had a reaction to dinner. I just made tacos and used the packaged seasoning mix. Maybe he's allergic to MSG or something?

Anyway, should get some work done here...

Joanne

howdy...nothing for me for now at least. I developed a cough after the most useless Costco run ever. I'm cleaning up until traffic clears and going to head out to work for another half day. I was hoping to be here until the Postman comes to see if maybe he brought me a present. I'm going to be seriously pissed if I'm sick again. Joe doesn't look so great either but I think that's an affect of no sleep (he can't sleep the night after he takes an ambien but he won't take it a second time in a row and then complains how he can't sleep). I'm going to go on a cleaning frenzy for the next hour....

HI ladies..

I got my shock cardio DVDs today. They came USPS this morning...So, I did Step Moves for my workout. I loved it. There is a learning factor. But, I got most of it by the end where she put them all together. I haven't looked at the others yet. I will try another one tomorrow. I am thinking of trying one of the MMA DVDs.

Joanne: Yummy cookies...They sound so good. We love peanut butter around here!

Hey Girls!!!!

I ended up ditching the LIS and going out shopping this morning. Did stocking stuffer shopping (costs an arm and a leg in the end) and teacher gifts (Dunkin Donuts Gift Cards + chocolate). And did groceries, and then brought some donuts to Jake's school office. (it's my 3rd day of 29 Gifts!).

I came home, and my brown box from UPS was here !!!! I did Athletic Step!!!! It was fun, a good Cathe step workout, I think. I got a little concerned in the warm up. This is where her cueing wasn't so great. But it was just the warm up, and you catch on after a few times anyway. The rest of the workout, she cued pretty good. there were 2 or 3 complicated moves at the most. Not too bad! All I pretty much got by the end of the workout. Just one I wasn't comfortable with. It's an on -the-step shuffle (off the side) that leads into a SKIP across the top of the step, and into another side step shuffle. During the skip I feel like my legs twist and I might fall. Don't like it. Though maybe next time I will. My HR got UP there though, I checked it a few times and it was almost 180! I didn't realize i was working that hard either.

The music was fun, techno stuff, one recognizable song (instrumental). I liked it though. It motivated me. The stretch music was familiar, she has in another workout, don't know which though! It was making me crazy trying to think which one!

Beth: Just keep telling yourself the push-ups will be GONE by MESO 2. Only temporary! ... OH geesh! I can't believe your christmas light drive was a disaster! I know, I shudder when anyone tells me they're going to our local one. ... Good girl taking your vitamins! I take Zinc and Vit C every day and then Calcium and extra Vit D. I stopped the multivits because they would make my stomach queasy. Hope you stay well !!

Joanne: OMG, those cookies sound awesome!! I wish I had read your recipe before i went to the store for cookie supplies!! ... I know, a Lemon Lush alcoholic drink sounds even better than the dessert! LOL!... The dance workout sounds fun, I'm so uncoordinated, I don't do the dance ones too often, I think I lack rhythm! that's too bad those kids got sick. I know one of Zach's friends got a migraine at my house once. He even threw up! I felt so bad for him and felt guilty, because he had slept over and they stayed up too late, that's why he got it. :(. .... Let us know when you get your Shock Cardios & which one you do!

Hottie: You can NOT be sick again! Will it away!!!... Can you come do a cleaning frenzy here? My house is a disaster. it sucks to have to clean for company AND get ready for Santa !!

Kathy: I didn't choose Step Moves because the description on the back made it sound complicated (it said something like don't worry if you don't get it the first few times). But you did get it for the most part? Did you like the music? I think I may do an MMA one on thursday too. Maybe the boxing one? Not sure yet...

Better go get baking, I need to make a ton o cookies!!

Hey Chris: It had some tricky moves. But, very doable moves. I got it after a couple of tries...I am going to do this one again next week so I don't forget it. The music was good from what I remember. I am one that I concentrate on the workout and sometimes I tune the tunes out. But, I remember thinking it was pleasant. I am interested in trying the Athletic Moves DVD though. SOunds good!! I was thinking of the kickboxing one for tomorrow..

Chris, what did you get the boys as stocking stuffers?? I need some ideas. I've gotten candy, but that's about it. Oh, a couple itunes cards. I swear, it gets harder as they get older! Sounds like Athletic Step wasn't too difficult to follow? Still not sure which one to try tomorrow. Maybe one of the MMA's, since you and Kathy have already previewed the step ones for us! I'm curious about cardio core one, though. The Christi dance DVD isn't really too dancey. I'm a major klutz, so any coordinated dancing doesn't suit me! But, it is fun.

Ugh, I feel gross. Too many treats from our "food court" here. We have a lot of vendors sending us treats and if it's chocolate I can't resist. Although someone seemed to have walked off with these out-of-the-world chocolate covered marshmellows. :( Probably for the best, right? ;)

Hottie, take care of yourself - stop getting sick!!

Kathy, I tune out the music, too. I only really notice if it's really good or really bad.

Question About Dec 09 Rotation

Hi

I have a quick question about the rotation for this month (posted to ask cathe, but I know this is a busy time). For the last week of workouts, is leaner legs the only weight training scheduled?

Kathy: I guess now that I think of it, Athletic Step is kind of deceiving. You know how KCM does her 30 Minute Step one, and jokes about not putting in ANY dancy/cha-cha's, etc moves, because it's athletic step. Cathe's is pretty dancey (to me) for Athletic. But it's all ok. It's not horribly hard. No moves like that HIS one. I'm afraid that Step Moves is dancey/hard to get? Doesn't sound like it from what you say!

Joanne: For stockings I find weird stuff. LOL! I went to ocean state job lot. Zach (14) is the hardest. He has pens, pencils, a rain poncho ($1), lottery tickets (they love those), some candy, a little game I found at Staples, heavy socks for sledding/winter . For Jake and Alex, they get some crayons, markers, play doh, Pez (all of them got that). I got Jake that Sponge Bob sponge that's suddses up (CVS) . Lip balm. Yeah, that Core Cardio looked kind of cool. I was debating on doing one of the harder ones w/ plyo moves because I'm doing Plyo Legs tomorrow. I think I'll save those..... AND,hey, I admit it, I stole the Choc Marshmallow thingies (because those would be my ultimate favorite chocolate covered food!!!!)

Tothemax: It's so funny, I don't think anyone is actually doing the DEC 09 Rotation this time around! We started off as the rotation check in, doing it together, and then stayed friends, but do other rotations/workouts. I'm thinking, though, that Leaner Legs could be the only workout for that day since Cathe was going with shorter workouts for DEC 09.

How fun you guys! Your first shock cardios! They both sound good! My tracking hasn't been updated since it was in NJ! It's like it got stuck in the snow or something. :D I'll get it when I get it is my feeling....

Went to basketball and my oh my, I shot some hoops with Dylan and my arms were so sore from the morning workout! How crazy is that.

Your cookie recipes sound great. I think the lemon lush, were it really a drink, would start with lemoncillo -- have you guys had that stuff? It's dangerous! Fortunately my boys are not into the baking (or the results of baking), so I'm just not doing any this year. I did make one batch of fudge, but most of it went in with the teacher's gifts.

We got home and are gardening friends were here, and just making vegetable soup with things grown in the garden -- it was so yummy and perfect since it was suddenly freezing today. So, we've had a nice visit with them and now it's time to get to work!

Oh, I just saw Joanne posted in the time I was typing this (which has been a long time!). Stocking stuffers..... I have candy, deck of cards, battery operated pencil sharpeners (silly, but requested), and I think some other stationary store type stuff. Nothing exciting! Sometimes they're easy, sometimes not!
