Good morning ladies!!

I have LOTS of DOMS today in my legs. Wow, I am feeling yesterday's workout. Today I am doing 4 day split kickbox cardio and the abs..I hope I can move my legs...

Hey Beth: I read your post from last night. Yes, I went heavier. I don't have a barbell. So, I used my weight vest, 25 lb dumbbells and I put my 5 pound ankleweights on my wrists and it all worked out..I do want a BB. Maybe Santa will be good to me...
 
Good Morning!

Went out to the bus stop this morning, it's like summer! It was warmer outside (60!!) than it was in my garage! Crazy!!! How I'd love to run again, but I don't want to get an injury 3 days in a row , since I haven't ran for about a month!

OH! But I have something just as exciting!! I got my 2 KCM 30 Minute workouts yesterday!!!!! After I got back from my run, I found them in the mailbox. I have to say, Mary rocks when it comes to customer service, doesnt' she???

So I think I will head down (NOW!) and do one from the Cardio Blast. Not sure which. I wonder if the step is complicated?

Kathy: Holy cow on the leg DOMS! hope KB makes them feel a bit better! I would never even attempt to lift 70 lbs on my back with a bar bell! I think the way you did it is the safest, really. I wonder if I should try one of these when I get to Meso 3? Can you mix up plyo with these or should you just do one or the other, do you think?

Finally, Greg is home today, and we can spend it somewhat together! Not sure if that's good or bad? LOL! We're going to decorate for Christmas today. The boys are so excited! we'll get everything ready so they can do the tree when they get home....

I'm clearly not awake! I read that it's warmer outside than it is in your garbage. Honestly, I had to look at it three times to try to figure out what you were saying!

Kathy, wow! Ankle weights on your wrists! Very creative. I just may have to try it once that way, too. I tried on some jeans last night that I haven't worn in a while and the legs seemed much tighter than I remember! Perhaps I do need Cathe's leg work afterall..... Chris, I think you could alternate weeks of plyo and squat rack -- why not? Shock it more! ;)

Yes, Mary is really so fast it's unbelievable! I always picture her living in a house with a white picket fence right next door to the post office, and when an order comes in, she packages it up, runs next door to the post office, and then goes back home to pack up the next order. :D I hope you like the KCM -- I think I may do that tomorrow myself. Either that or kettlebells, I'm not sure.

I did the Firm Get Chisled this morning..... I had read that it's great for the upper body.... not sure I believe that -- it was ok. But when I was done I had enough time that I wanted some sort of add on, so I stuck in 4DS KB and did just the extended warm up, cool down, and stretch. Not sure it was worth it really, but it was a bit extra.....

Ok, you guys.... I need your advice if you have any for me..... I think I've realized that I'm kind of burned out on Cathe, or maybe splits, or I don't know. The other day when I couldn't face 4DS HIS, it was as much about the weight work as the fancy steps. But, I think I've realized that one of the awesome things about Cathe is her rotations and focus. It's been fun playing around with different workouts and I certainly have some new ones that I want to keep playing with, but I also think I need more focus and I'm not sure how to get that. Seems like Joanne was going through this and hopped back into a Cathe rotation -- I'm not sure I can get myself to do that. I don't know! Any thoughts?

Chris, sounds like you're going to have a fun day with Greg today -- enjoy. Hottie, did you get plyo legs done?

Joanne, we're thinking about you and knowing that you're dealing with very tough emotions right now. Hugs, hugs, and more hugs.
 
Chris: I was going to try and pair up the plyo legs and the squat rack legs. But, my legs were so tired when I was done I just stopped..Have fun with your new workouts. I love getting new ones..

Beth: Thanks. I thought I was being creative. I wanted to buy heavier dumbbells. But, I just didn't have the money for that. But, Maybe after Christmas. The store always start the new year off with health and fitness sales since alot of people focus on that as new yeat resolutions. I know I did way back in 2004...I agree about get chisled. It is ok. But, not the intensity I get from Cathe and that is what I need. Not sure what to suggest on the staying focused. I know for me following a rotation is the only way to keep me focused. Otherwise, I just do whatever. I know Cathe's rotation have the workouts put together for certain benefits. Maybe try a rotation and see if it helps the focus...
 
Hey girls!

Taking a little break from cleaning. Funny how Christmas decorating turned into cleaning/de-cluttering! :eek:

I did do KCM 30 Minute Athletic Step. Okay, was it kind of "easy" or is it just me? I'd say moderate at the most. I mean I did like it, and I liked KCM (LOL about not doing any dance steps!), but I thought she was going to kill me with cardio, and it never happened.. Maybe the Plyo is more difficult?

Beth: LOL! @ reading GARBAGE instead of GARAGE! .., Mary MUST have a very easy commute to the post office! Unbelievable how quick she was! ... Hmmmmm..thinking about your burnout question. ... You're burnt out on splits? You haven't done splits in a long time though, no? Do you think you could do a Cathe rotation or Fitness Freak rotation and do different cardio for the cardio days? I love that I'm doing that with STS now. I get enough of Cathe, and then whoever I feel like doing for cardio. Or even running. .... Could you do a barre and circuit rotation? ... Could it be you haven't really been following too much of a rotation, and maybe you need to just jump into one to get back into it?... There are different total body rotations too. You could even sub another total body weight work with someone besides Cathe too... I'm willing to help you work through this and find a solution though!

Chris, I don't think I've ever done just the step -- I usually do one of the premixes that combines 'em. Probably just the step feels a lot easier than Cathe since Cathe always manages to put in some intense stuff.

I haven't done splits in a long time, and sometimes I think I'm excited to do them again, but boy that chest and back preview in 4DS turned me off! I was thinking that maybe next week I ought to do pyramid or gym styles maybe to try to ease into it. And, as you say, maybe I need to just pick a rotation and go with it. I do get excited about STS when I think about it -- I dunno -- I'm in some strange space, aren't I?!

Beth: Now you tell me! LOL! I *ALMOST* did a premix w/ the Plyo, but thought I should do the basics first, to make sure I get the moves down. It's funny how the different people use different terms. Instead of a 3 knee repeater, she calls it somethign totally different, and it confuses me! LOL!

So do you think I should do the straight plyo tomorrow or a premix?

Maybe you should stay away from the 4DS..LOL! You don't seem to be in the mood for it. Like how HIS turned you off. It's not one of my favorite series right this second either. I know I did the BC a week or so ago , but it didn't make me happy the way it used to.

The boys should be home soon, and we can decorate the tree!! YIPPEE! (don't know why I have the urge to munch today. eating has been crappy today. ugh)
 
I know what you mean about the terms and cueing! It can be confusing going from instructor to instructor! You could go ahead and do the plyo tomorrow -- didn't you get the body weight training, too? If you have time, do the plyo with the standing portion of the body training -- I like that combo and believe it or not it makes your abs/core hurt for days! I think it's some of the plyo moves, actually, but I'm not sure. The one thing about the cardio premix..... she repeats the moves on the plyo in the plyo workout, and so you'd think that for the premix she could not repeat and instead put in more variety, but she does not -- that part was a little disappointing.

Heck, maybe I just need to dive into STS again! I dunno!
