Good morning ladies..

Starting out the last week of the year. Wow! Today i will probably try out either Athletic Step or the Circuit workout. Since my recovery week is over, I want to do a few days this week with weights. I am curious to see what Cathe posts for the January rotation. I will more than likely end up doing that one..

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend...

Be back later..

Good Morning!

Getting ready to leave for our Glucose Monitor Training .... I'm getting a little anxious, not because of the new system (which Greg and I had to spend 2 hours reviewing online last night ), but because time is going to be cramped, and I'm not sure when I can get my workout in. Scheduled is DISC 34 (i think?) of MESO 3, my LAST week. Chest and Back. Isn't it sick that I get all worked up thinking about how I might miss my workout??? Tomorrow is going to be tricky too, since my sis is coming. I'm definitely going to try a HiiT, a good time crunch workout. So I'll let you know how I think it compares to CCC, Kathy!

Hottie: Sorry you didn't make it through your workout yesterday. i hate that feeling of thinking you COULD do it, but then not making it. BUT I thought it was amusing how amused YOU were watching Joe do Step Moves. That isn't easy stuff ... the thought of a guy doing the cha-cha's kind of makes me laugh too (but don't tell Joe! ;))

Beth: That is a healthy way to think about cleaning/not cleaning for family. I hope I can find that frame of mind, but I get so anal about having things CLEAN and TIDY and NICE when ANYONE comes over. I did slack a LOT for Christmas , because it was just my mom, and she doesn't go up the stairs. So upstairs wasn't as nice as it could have been..LOL! Hope your shoulder is better today!!!

Joanne: Hope you had a nice Christmas with your family! Are you back to work this week?

Kathy: I'm kind of ready for 2010. This is going to be a tougher week for me with my work schedule, so bring it on! LOL!. I love the start of the year when healthy is ALL over the place, it encourages me. I think I may try to start something on the weekends at work with my friends, on challenging to eat healthy and maybe to bring in healthy snacks. Weekends totally kill me!... Looking forward to what you think of Athletic Step. I think you'll love it!

Good morning! Happy Monday, though it doesn't feel like any particular day to me at all. :)

Hope you got your workout in, Chris -- I understand completely about fretting about trying to get it done. Kathy, I'm very curious to see Cathe's rotation for January, too. I bet it'll be fun with the new stuff mixed in.

I'm still sore. Really sore last night -- I took an ibuprofin, and larry rubbed the crunchies (how's that sound?!). It's still sore this morning. Today is theoretically a rest day anyway, though I had my unplanned rest day xmas day. But, it just doesn't matter -- I don't think even yoga is happening here, but a walk when it's light outside might happen. I actually wondered if I ought to just sell STS! Ug.

Maybe my shock cardio will actually arrive today..... who knows?! It was in Sunnyvale at midnight -- that's only about a half hour away, but it's not saying anything like "out for delivery" -- still saying it's going to be delivered tomorrow. Amazing! (in such a bad way)

Don't know what I'm doing today but I think I should face some reality and pay some bills, maybe even go to work for a while (but I'll have to take the boys if I do). Hope everyone has a good day! Joanne, are you back at work or shutdown this week?

I'm feeling so blah. I came into work with Joe and I've been here for a while and it's totally dead. Because i've been away for so many days today isn't all that interesting (I have to set up a lot of things to grow or be ready)...tomorrow will be, but totally unmotivated. Also, i managed to really hurt my finger...but that's what happens when you lift heavy furniture and no one's around. I still have a tickle in my throat...but I hope to give Step Moves another shot when I go home later after I induce this one culture for overnight. Just don't have my head ready to come back just yet I guess. My boss probably won't even stroll in until around 2p. I really need to kick it into gear though -- so many things got killed this past week. Aah -- stressing out about it is just going to make it worse.

Kathy -- well, you'll be having fun on either right! My recovery week ...eek, maybe I need to catch up on that too.

Chris -- yeah, I convinced him to try it because I was like, "well, there's a step class at the RT and you'd rather just look stupid and learn in here, right?" he has a good sense of humor. He lasted about five minutes. I think what made me it better was despite my hacking, I jumped into it so quickly and he was like, now you're just showing off. But it always makes me laugh what things I get quickly and what gives me problems...but Joe was teasing me too because I always count out the beat (like a metronome) and I refer to the motions as music notes (like, this is a triplet, quarter note, syncopation, etc.) and he was like, "music geek!"

Beth -- man UPS sucks!!! I wonder what the equation is...you live a bit out of the way right? Maybe they either have 1) a rotation system for packages in a designated low travel region or 2) they wait to accumulate to have a certain number of packages before they put them on a truck for a region. Whereas USPS has to come out to you everyday... hmm...there has to be something like that. I'm sorry your shoulder is bothering you -- ground it! or something like that...

Oh, I should get back to stuff but it involved me being in the cold. It's much nicer to just find all these new radio station (I didn't realize about this HD radio multicasting...so much music!). I'm also breaking in my new Ryka Ultimas so I should probably walk around more...

Joanne -- we miss ya!

Hey Chris, I meant to comment on your work challenge/healthy snack idea -- I like it. I'm really motivated to do better -- it may just be where I am in my cycle -- I seem to go through things like this, but I'm psyched at the moment, and doing well, so running with it (so to speak). Let me know if you come up with any creative ideas!!

Hottie, sorry you aren't feeling well and it's freezing at work. I have to go to work, too, and I'm pretty unmotivated since it entails bringing the boys and keeping them busy but quiet. Anyone taking their kids to see Avatar or is it just too not-kid-friendly? I can't decide. We may see Alvin later (as the carrot for behaving well at the office).

Shock cardio is out for delivery! Finally! I think it has nothing to do with trying to save a trip out here because UPS is up this way every day, and they had so many packages the other day they were moving a bunch from a big truck to a smaller truck. I really think it has to do with the ground -- that seems to be the biggest problem. Well, I don't know.... I do know that when I order from Cathe from now on (if I ever do! -- I'm really feeling depressed about getting older and unable to do things) I will have it sent to the office!

I'd better get moving if I want any time at the office before the movie time!

Hi ladies..

Checking in with Circuit Blast done..I liked that one as well..It remind me of LIC a little except the cardio was more intense. It was 6 rounds all keeping the cardio elevated. I did modify the squat thrust with a pushup. I ended up not doing the pushup part of it. I am still liking the shock cardio stuff. Tomorrow I am probably going to do Athletic Step. I am interested in that one..

Beth: Yeah...hope you are previewing those new videos soon..Enjoy the movie. Not sure about Avatar..

Hottie: HOpe you are feeling better..Yeah for the Rykas. I broke in my Rykas too. Love them!!

Chris: Great idea with the healthy snack idea. I remember when I worked in a office it was so hard to avoid the unhealthy foods. Everyone was always bringing in donuts or candy or junk like that. I get the same away about missing a workout..Hope you get it in today sometime...

Gotta go..

Hey again...

Well, tough day #1, I got my workout done! We got home around 3p, I started about 3:30. I was able to use the heavy weight #'s listed on my workout cards, or just a teeny bit less (1 lb). I think me doing this on a good night's sleep makes a HUGE difference. usually Mondays kill me, and I'm so exhausted, I feel weak getting the weights up into place , but not today! I did great!... Though my low back has been kind of "sore", just generally. Mostly in bed when I'm trying to sleep though. The back stuff wasn't the easiest for me.

Beth: Oh drats on the continued soreness. That really sucks. What will you do tomorrow? It's got to be so frustrating!! Did the "crunchies" go away when you were better the first time?... Oh I heard Avatar was cool!! But that was from adults, so not sure about kids. I'd like to go see it, actually. The chipmunk movie is always good for a laugh!.... I'll see what I end up planning for the weekends. I was so inspired by this guy that worked with us Sat. night. He was sitting there eating a salad, had lost about 40 lbs already, and said it was hard, but he did NOT partake in ANY of the holiday food that is overflowing on EVERY unit at the hospital. Our unit was no exception. It was like overload though. There was TOO much. ... HEY, I got my calendar today! hope your Shock Cardio comes today!!!! It's got TO!!!

Hottie: You must have a short week at work because of the holiday? ..That's funny how you count out the music for step workouts! Hope you get back to Step Moves , and your finger is ok too!... Good point on Joe needing to learn a few moves for the RT too!

Kathy: Circuit Blast sounds great! Was there a lot of weight work in it? Was it Step or just cardio blasts (like Hiit?). ... You'll love Athletic Step. I think I'm going to do the first HiiT tomorrow (is it 30/30?).

Tomorrow is going to be busy, but I had to reschedule the boys' dental cleanings for 8:45a tomorrow, so that will motivate me to get my buttocks moving in the morning to get it all done by the time my sister arrives!

Hi girls! Kathy, thanks for the continued updates on the workouts you've tried! Chris, way to go on your workout today! A good night sleep definitely makes a difference. And drumroll.... yes..... it arrived!!!! So, I've previewed the core one, athletic step, and the 30/30 hiit. What will I do tomorrow with this soreness? I am so unsure! I would really love to finish up the last week of meso 1 -- I'm so close (well, I have the whole week of it, but it's only three days and I could finish it before we leave town). Realistically though, I think that's probably a really bad, stupid idea. So, I'm thinking I may try some new shock cardio, count this as my recovery week, and see if I can hit meso two when I come back (but I'm not going to go as heavy with the weights. Of course, that'll all hinge on how I feel over the next week. So, what do you think my first shock cardio should be? Cathe looks awesome, doesn't she?!

We did not go to the movie..... I had too much to do at work -- we finally left the office at about 2:00 for lunch! It still feels like afternoon to me, but I ought to be getting dinner ready!

Hottie, I also count out on some moves -- not all, but it definitely helps me. And I think it's wise to get Joe to do those new step dvds because she will most likely use moves from them at the RT.

I suppose I had better get busy with dinner! Good luck with the cleaning, Chris.

Beth!!! I'm excited you got Shock Cardio today! I love comparing and doing the workouts "with" you guys!

I think your plan on Meso 1 and 2 are good ones. Maybe you could do at least the lower body one this week? (or is that too much on your shoulders too with holding the heavy weights?). You're very wise in staying safe. I hate that this happened to you :( though.
