Deanie's Rotation Monday 4/9

Good morning all. It looks like it was a slow weekend on the checkin so I'm not feeling quite so guilty now. I just didn't have any time to get on the computer but I'm glad to see that most of you didn't either.

I started the faux rotation today and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. It seemed sort of awkward, kind of like I was following Cathe' but not really. I also should have asked what military push ups were before I started this too. Can anyone explain them?

I'm feeling major doms in my glutes from Saturdays HSC workout. Ouchy!

good morning Tracee and all who come after!

(warning: long post!!)

My parents left today, and it is good to have the house back. I love them, but 10 days is alot for company. They live in Florida.

I also started the faux rotation today. I agree about following Cathe. It was not really helpful, because she was doing more reps then we are, but I did follow her for the first 10reps and let the dvd keep playing, because I used mix and match and it would just go back to that menu.

From what I can tell, military push ups are done with your feet together and standard push ups are the same with your feet apart. Marcy- is that right?

I did my measurements on Sunday:
did not get on the scale, I'm a size 2 or 4 so I don't care what I weigh.
Chest 29(not sure if I measured that right:))
waist 26
hips 32
thighs 20 right and left
bicepts 9 3/4 ( was going to round to 10, but I thought I might get there with this rotation:) )

Todays workout-
did 16 reps of all pushups on toes except the first round of diamond pushups did 10 on toes, 6 on knees. I also did the decline push ups on the ball. And the last round of dive bomber push ups I did 20, I like them:)

I also did 10 reps of weight work, so I may have to raise my weights. I bought a 30# DB this weekend and used it for the 2nd round of 1 arm rows and did 8 reps.

I am definately feeling it already:)

Gin- I don't know if you saw my final post yesterday. What are negitive pushups? What Imax did you do today? I am doing Imax 2 tomorrow. Its the easiest and I haven't done an Imax in a while. I hope your DS is feeling better.

Marcy- Can't wait to find out how your workout went this morning! We want details!!!}(

Tracee- I hope your day is not too hecktic!!

Good Morning Ladies!

I did IMAX1 today and realized I had not ever done this one. The chor. was fairly easy to follow and the blast (all 10 of them!}( ) got my HR up every time. My upper body is a little sore from yesterday. I ended up buying KPC/L&G last night from ebay for $14.00!!:7

Tracee--Glad to have you back with us. I miss you guys over the weekend!

Deanie--You are tiny! Maybe the size of Cathe? You did so well this morning on your pushups...WTG!! Negative pushups are down on your toes, then up on your knees. Then the next cycle I did the opposite..down on my knees and push up on my toes. The hope is that I will eventually get to the real thing! I hope I can follow tomorrow's rotation okay with the dvd.

Marcy--How was the P90X today?? Some one posted on another thread that they saw results in 3 weeks after doing P90X!

Off to shower and mammogram appt. No school today for me!

Hi Ladies!

Sounds like you are all doing well. Me, not so well. Last night I had to be taken by ambulance to the ER. I had an asthma attack. DH said I was turning blue. I was released after about 5 hours. I'm feeling better now but yesterday was really scary. Not being able to breathe is the worst feeling. I got my meds so I'm on my way to recovery and I'm going to the doctor this afternoon. Needless to say, I'm feeling really bummed right now. I know I shouldn't exert myself but I'm going to attempt to do as much as I can on Chest & Back today.

Went shopping at Ann Taylor on my Bday. Got 2 pair of size 2 capri pants.

Gin - 120 pushups is great! Sorry you weren't able to run your 5K (hopefully you'll be able to next time) and hope your DS gets better soon. Great price you got on KPC/L&G. The DVD is a major difference from the Fit TV version. Deanie's suggestion of PS sounds like a good one. I love IMAX 3 (I'm still trying to get that on ebay without spending a fortune.) If you want heavy lifting, I'd go with PS, if you want more endurance, I'd get the Pyramids or BC/ME. Step Blast and SJP are a lot of fun for me. I like IMAX 2 but C&W I don't care for that much.

Tracee - Military pushups are done with your hands close together near ribs. Try not to flare the elbows.

Deanie - Congrats on your new equipment. Hope you'll enjoy them and get a lot of use out of them. Machines are kind of boring for me, but eventually I might get a treadmill to help me with running. I think it's good you took your measurements. You'll be happier at the end when you see how far you've come.

Glad you all had great workouts. I know it's going to feel completely different at first but we need to change things up to get stronger fitness gains, so keep up the good work everyone.

Hi again all-

Gin- that was a great price for KPC/L&G! You will definately love the longer versions. I think you said your version didn't have the ab work. KPC abs are on my top 3 of favorites. I think I am going to try ebay, you always have such good luck on it. I wouuld like to buy the core synergists (? spelling?) from P90X. Just an fyi, I don't know if you have it, but I am going to add the planks from CTX kickbox to which ever abs I choose to do on day 3 (BC,MM,ME) Its a good mishmosh and I've done it before. It only adds 2-3 more min. on.

Marcy - OMG!!!! I hope you are okay!! That must have been so scary for you and your DH!! I hope you had a very happy birthday! Which Capris did you get at Ann Taylor? The ones that roll up at the bottom and are held in place with buttons? I got those and a black pair just plain. I agree about the machines. My DH now uses the elliptical and the bike is just for him, but I like the treadmill. I walk, run, or do intervals, and its a change from step or kickbox. Plus Cathe uses runs in her rotations and I usually sub with a step, so I'm excited to now be able to "run" :). You are funny- in the hospital yesterday, working out today. I would probably do the same thing!!:) Take it easy though!

Marcy--I'm so sorry that you had an asthma attack yesterday and had to go to the hospital. I don't know anything about asthma. Is there anything that triggers it for you? Hope you really are doing better. Please take care of yourself.
Thank you so much for your advice on the dvds. I do eventually want them all.:D I have learned sooo much about fitness from you ladies!!
Have you guys seen Kelly Ripa on the cover of Shape (I think?) magazine? She looks pretty good.
I am freezing here and am really ready for warmer weather!!

Marcy - OMG how scary!! Please take it easy and follow the doctors orders. Have you always had asthma or is it a recent thing for you? Do you usually have bad attacks like that? I can't even imagine how scary it was for you and DH.

I guess I was doing the right stuff during the workout today. That makes me feel better. Thanks Marcy for the description of military push ups.

Gin - awesome job on the pushups. Are you going to take your measurements to see how much progress you make? I've taken mine every month for the last 4 months but I should do it again to get a starting point today.

I think I'm going to do IMAX2 tomorrow too Deanie. I like it better than IMAX3!!

Hi Again!

Deanie--I do have Ab Hits which has CTX Kickbox section, so I will add that on tomorrow. I don't have either ME abs or BC abs, so I will have to MM abs and any other suggestions for the other weeks? I have a question about tomorrow's workout...after the rear delt flys and concentration curls do I do kickbacks, dips with weight in lap or see/saw? or rotate those? Hope I am doing all of this correctly.:7

Tracee--I took my measurements on March 1 and I know I haven't changed, so I'll go by those. I'm hoping for some progress, since I haven't seen any in AGES!:-(
Enjoy IMAX2 tomorrow. I only have the FitTV version of that, but will probably still do it next week.

Gin- Tomorrow is rear delt flys, concentration curl and dips with weight on lap. Maybe do B&G stability ball ab work one day and B&G weight abs another day instead of BC or ME without adding on CTX. Here is the final copy of day 3. I hope it goes smoothly for you:)

Thank you Deanie for posting that. We had to replace our printer and I was not able to print your final copy. Should have saved it. When I went back to print ,I think I printed the wrong version.
I enjoyed Debbie's rotation, but really didn't see any results. I think I need to severely tighten up on my diet and do this long term! I ate very clean last week and lost....zero! I just need to not get discouraged. Thanks for letting me vent.
