Morning! (yup, I purposely left out the "GOOD" part! LOL)

So ladies...Once you all get your Isanities and plan on starting your rotations, I vote that we temporarily change the name of our thread/check-in to tie in with that. Any ideas for a new jazzy name that will inspire us? :D

If you noticed the time on this post, you are not reading it wrong. Yes, it's 4:20 and yes I am up. I woke up and thought about something that has been bugging me. Well it managed to get me out of bed for now but it won't stop me from napping later!!!!!

I need your opinions girls...don't worry, it's nothin' heavy! ;) I had an inspiration last night and was wondering if you think I can do it and if you think it's TOO MUCH. I think it would be OKAY but I want others' opinnions. I am missing the Slim Series (yes, seriously! Can you believe that!? LOL) and was thinking about doing it again after Insanity but then I came up with an even BETTER idea which is what I need your thoughts on! SS and Insanity combined! I would do AM and PM work outs. It would only be a 5 day/week rotation though and the first week would look like this if I started today (which I am not sure I will do-it depends):

day 1) AM: Shape It Up PM: Pure Cardio
day 2) AM: Mix It Up PM: Run
day 3) AM: Tone It Up PM: Pure Cardio/Cardio Abs
day 4) OFF (Cardio Recovery)
day 5) AM: Tear It Up PM: Cardio Power & Resistance
day 6) AM: Off PM: Plyometric Cardio Circuit
day 7) OFF (complete rest day)

If you'll notice I have omitted Firm It Up from the rotation. I don't feel it would be necessary to work legs for an hour since every SS has leg work in it and Insanity is all about plyo leg drills. I think keeping FIU in the rotation would be overkill AND would make it a 6 day rotation besides. I was also considering omitting the SS floor work (lower body) from the rotation but I would still do any upper body she does on the floor plus the abs.
Any thoughts? Judging from the work outs I read about from Laura, Lori and Diana who will work out multiple times a day at times, I am thinking I am capable of doing this. It's just a matter of not being lazy about it and getting it done. Omitting the floor portion of SS will shorten those work outs and month 1 Insanities are only 40 mins a piece with the exception of when Cardio Abs is included. So I ask you.....YAY or NAY and.....*drum roll please*....anyone want to atttempt it with me?? ;)

Laura:: No worries and when you are almost done with week 2, let me know and I'll type out the next 2 weeks for you. ;) Or why don't you ask SIL to give you the "paperwork" that comes with the work outs. The rotation is in there. It's on a poster. YOU keep that while you are doing the program so that you know what's coming and let her keep the rest. Either way. No big deal for me to type it up for ya either. I am just wondering why she doesn't just look at the rotation though??? I can not believe she wants to keep the plyo class going as is along with the rotation. That's kinda crazy! Please be careful! I'd hate to see you over-do it, get injured, etc!!!! :confused:
 
Okay, I still want your opinions for sure but I've decided to try it (for today atleast!). I am up stupid early so no better time to get in an AM work out in, right? ;)

I RARELY get to check in here before working out/work, but when I do it's typically to read the previous day's thread. But today was a giant surprise to see the thread already started by our resident early bird :eek: so I had to post!

Heading out in two minutes to get on the treadmill.

Wendy: I think it's doable, for sure, as long as you take the rests you have scheduled, missy!!! Got it?? Your body will need the recovery with all that work, and you're famous for skipping your rest days, just sayin'. And ah, that'll be a NAY on joining you, thankyouverymuch ;) You crazy chick, you :)

Gotta run, literally, but will bbl when I get to work.

Good Morning!:)

I had to set my alarm for work:confused: It actually wasn't that bad. I was late going to bed and had to go into work for a flight at 6:30. I think I can suffer through the rest of my day. I feel fine right now and I still have the option of going back to bed but its 7:20 now and by the time I actually get back to sleep, DS will be waking up and I will probably just end up with a heading. So I am considering going downstairs and doing a quick CC workout before he wakes up. That way I won't feel like a slug all day. I have my neices for most of the day so running outside isn't an option. Im thinking I may go for another run tonight though...depending on how I feel.

Wendy** How long are these workouts? I don't know anything about the slim series but Im sure if you think its fine, then it probably is. Im trying to figure out how to juggle running with Insanity. Not now...later. I don't want to stop running entirely so I am trying to figure out how I can work a couple of runs into a rotation. The weather will soon be changing and running outside won't be an option anymore...so I want to keep it up while I can.

Finally, the Canada Post website as been updated re:Insanity but it says it won't be delivered until the 10th:mad: I paid for quick shipping 4-6 business days. Im thinking they give you the worst case scenerio. If it was on Toronto yesterday, I have a feeling it will be here tomorrow or the next day. Its already cleared customs and thats usually what takes the longest.

O.k...I should get this run in before I get lazy!!!

Shape It Up is DONE! I omitted the lower body floor work as stated which brought the work out done from 80 minutes to just a hair over 60. It felt good to do that work out again! :)

I am gonna be soooo tired today. Probably not a good time to start a 2 work out a day plan :rolleyes: but hey, you know me, when I get an idea in my head I gotta try it NOW! I'm like a little kid! :p Hopefully a nap will revive me enough to get Pure Cardio done later on. I would just do it now and get it over with since I'm gonna be tired later but I have to be in work at 8am this morning so I have no more time left....

Anyway....

Jen:: Yes, I will take the rest days! Pinkie swear!;) Any ideas on if or what you might add to Insanity as far as weight work is concerned? Hope you have a good run!

Lori:: You are probably right. They are probably giving you the worst case scenario! I'll bet you get it way before the 10th! WOO HOO! SS work outs are 60-80 minutes a piece if done in full. With the omissions I should be doing 45-65 minute work outs or thereabouts. I am continuing to run while doing Insanity. I've just added an extra day on to my rotation to run. Simple as that. I can't fathom doing any more running then that personally. Shelley (Limecat) is running after doing an Insanity w/o back to back 3 days per week. I won't even ATTEMPT that. I am not that into running right now anyway so I have no reason to even consider it. Good luck working out a plan you can stick with! :)

Okay I am quickly running out of time here...gotta shower and get the boy ready to leave here with in 40 minutes!!!! :eek:

ETA: It occurred to me that Firm It Up fits between Shape It Up and Mix It Up in the rotation as written. Since I am omitting FIU I should PROBABLY have a rest day from the weights in it's place. Doing that though will mess up the 2 rest days which, right now, fit in perfectly. I will do it as I have it written above. If I find myself having trouble and feel the need (for upper body's sake) to include that rest then I will tweak my rotation to make it work the best that I can....stay tuned!

At work :confused:

I hopped on the treadmill this morning for two miles before I finally acknowledged how much I was NOT enjoying it and gave up. So I finished my workout with MM Lower Body premix and all is ok. I should have my Insanity on my doorstep when I get home today, so if I'm super energetic I might give one a shot tonight...maybe ;)

Lori: I agree that they give you the worst case scenario date. I bet you have your package very soon *fingers crossed*!

Wendy: I'm thinking I'll add in at least an upper body workout once or twice a week. Probably something like the MM premix or something that's quick and to the point, but works me good. And I still want to get in one long run a week. That's enough for me! I agree that we should change our name to something Insanity related. Got any ideas?

Hey Girls!

Back again. I am enjoying a cup of coffee and hoping it gives me a kick in the arse. How come the only cup of coffee that really does the trick is the 1st one in the morning? Or maybe thats just me. I can usually get by all day with only one cup in the morning but now I am on my 2nd and I don't feel any differently. Perhaps I should just suck it up that I am tired. Maybe when DD gets up she will watch the kiddos while I lay down for 30 mins or so.

My run ended up being longer then I had planned but thats o.k! I decided to do CC#6 and to my surprise (haven't done it in a while) there were 5 intervals in that one. I think I was suppose to do 4 intervals today. My run was 50 mins long and 5.5 miles. I am thinking about going for another small run tonight (just to get the dog out) and UB at some point in time. I am totally losing interest in STS and to tell you the truth I don't even care if I finish the last 2 weeks. Im sure Im not going to miss some major results if I give up now

Oh and my stupid washer is acting weird. Its not spinning the clothes (at the beginning) it took me 3 loads to catch on to what was going on. I guess I will need to get someone to come and look at it. Dont really care to spend money on a new washer and dryer (its a stackable one)

Wendy** I have a feeling that I will be doubling up my workouts once I start the Insanity series. By the time I am ready to do the rotation everything here should be calmed down even more. Everything is pretty much back to normal now and the social gatherings have easied off some.

Jen** They say if you don't want to workout you should try for 20 mins and if your not feeling it then stop LOL I guess thats what you did. I usually know about 5 mins in and I don't bother going the full 20 mins.

I should go do some more work. I have lots on the go, hoping it was going to keep me revived but its not looking very good!

Good monring ladies !

I woke at 4 this AM but stayed in bed until 6 ! :eek: I did IMax original last night and though seemingly mundane compared to the other two, think it may be closer to Insanity. And with PLB on the schedule for today decided not to get up early as I definitely wasn't feeling like leg weights this AM.

Wendy - Sorry you were awake so early ! Sounds like you put the time to good use setting up your rotation though. I'd love to chime in but don't know much about either of the sets you are using (yet that is !). I would look at the total time you'll be spending on a daily basis and try not to go for too long. I know it's possible to do two workouts a day, but seems that suggestions I've read will say more than an hour and a half is a little much. Of course that depends on the person and the workouts. It seems you are totally paying attention to time and effort and what the heck - you can alway adjust as you mentioned. Even doing it every other week would probably be fine and quell your thirst for SS.

Jen - well that was a great combo workout this morning - way to switch it up so get a good one in. I love the Terminator workouts for that reason - when I'm not feeling like total cardio or total weights. My Insanity was to have "shipped/billed" on Monday - hopefully will see an update of where the heck it is in CA sometime today. I am totally thinking of something similar - 2 UB's and a run per week. Will have to start checking out the UB premixes. Do you have most of the Cathe weight DVD's?

Diana - what are you thinking for a rotation? Of course you already have a few other classes you have signed up for.

Laura - well we know you are going to go bazonkers with your own classes and then Insanity too.

Lori - guess you'll be just adding a couple perhaps on a weekly basis? By the way, have you completed STS yet? That would be an option too !

Jacque: I think I have all her weight dvds. I even have STS still in its box :eek: I don't think I'll have a shortage of options. Good job with Imax last night. Since she came out with 2 and 3, I haven't been able to face that one at all.

My baby dog is at the vet for his surgery ..no word yet .. was hoping they would do him first thing and let me KNOW HE IS OK .. I am a nervous wreck .. I set off the freaking alarm at work this morning .. :confused: .. i am loosing it!! GEESH

Jen .. think I am Certifiably Insane .. that name so fits ME.. but I do like PleAding Insanity .. LOL .. that one is good ..

Wendy .. WOW .. that is a good schedule .. I/A w/Lori .. I would make sure not to exceed the total workout hours in the day over 1 1/2 to 2 hours .. 2 hours is pushing it ..(I know I am one to talk .. LOL)

TUE: MY 60 min Plyo (done)
WED SIL: Pure Cardio (no class) (me rest)
THURS ME: Pure Cardio (SIL teach my class easy recovery class)
FRI: Plyo Cardio Circuit

Week 2

SAT: Cardio Power and Resistance
SUN: Pure Cardio
MON: Cardio Recovery lunch PM: circuit class or 4 step class
TUE: My Plyo class
WED: Cardio Power and Resistance
THURS:4 or 6 step shaping
FRI: rest
SAT: Pure Cardio + Cardio Abs
SUN:plyo Cardio Circuit

Think that sounds doable ... for now!! ;)

Laura:: Give your new rotation a shot and see if it works for you. You can always tweak it down the line! Glad your dog is OKAY!!!!

Jacque:: Not surprised you didn't want to do leg work this morning after the original IMAX. That one is definitely a leg burner in a big way!!! Glad I wasn't the only one awake at 4 this morning. :p My limit for staying in bed if I can't sleep is an hour and lots of times I don't even last THAT long!

Jen:: So will you atleast have some Insanity preview time tonight? :) I have no better ideas for a check in name then what's been mentioned here. After that work out, my brain is fried! :p Your Insanity rotation sounds like mine was before my scatter-brained SS idea came along! LOL Well, with the exception of the word LONG before the word RUN. That wasn't and isn't gonna happen. I barely plodded out my 30 min run/walk last week! :eek:

Lori:: So what's up with the loss of interest in STS? Just too long of a rotation or too into your race training right now? The more time goes on, the more I know I did the right thing by cancelling my STS order. Just not my thang, ya know? I have given up quite a few of my daily coffee times. I would drink it in the morning at home (1 or 2 cups), in the morning at work (1 medium Dunkin), after lunch, at around 3 or 4, as I was cooking dinner and/or right after dinner and then usually a cup later in the evening!!! Now, for the most part I have given up everything but the 2 cups in the morning (wether it's both at home or one home and one at work) and the one cup after dinner or later in the evening. I started drinking Arizona diet Green Tea and it's hitting the spot so I don't feel the need for the coffee as much now. :)

Alrighty, I gotta jet for now babes but I'll be back later or in the morning!

Hi ladies,

Well I did whatever the second w/o was, Cardio Power and Resistance I think. This one really hurt my feet. Reminded me of the reason I rarely do Hi/Lo anymore and stick to step. Before I even started-my quads, hamstrings, calves and back are all sore.

I think my fav is Control the Insanity.

DS has been coughing, just a cold..no fever. DH asked me to take him in anway. So I had to leave work early, after already being off for 2 days, just for the dr. to tell me he has a cold! I'm so mad.

Wendy-I think your rotation looks great. There shouldn't be any issues since you are splitting your w/o's into morning and evening sessions. Obviously just take a day off when you need it and pick back up again.

Jen-Well I for one never want to run on a treadmill... at least your w/o time wasn't a total loss. Nice job with MM. I'm surprised I've never done a premix from that dvd. Hopefully you'll have a chance to take a look at Insanity tonight. You and Jacque are quite creative. I'm up for starting the rotation next week.

Lori-sounds to me like you need a nap. Get DD to watch the kiddo's for bit. Nice job on that long run! I actually saw improvements the last two weeks of STS. If that's not your goal you can always do something else. I'm looking forward to another round of STS...maybe after Insanity.

Jacque-Good Job with Imax original. I have to say that is my least favorite Imax. It's not the workout, I just can't stand the warmup. You and Jen are quite creative. I'm not creative at all. Actually the plyo w/o I did the other day was the first Insanity w/o. I'm not familiar with the names of all the discs as they are in basement. I'm up for starting the Insanity rotation next week with you and Jen.

Laura-glad your doggie came through surgery fine. It looks like you were able to come up with a rotation taking into account your teaching schedule. Yep, did the second w/o today. My feet took a beating. I do have supportive shoes, but I am on puzzle mats over concrete.

Hi Girls:)

Whata day:confused: I had 4 kids all day. The girls were absolutley no trouble at all but DS was his usual self. I don't know why he isn't even bothered by the girls at all. You would think that he would want to play with them or interact on some level...but NO...lets torture mommy instead! I felt kinda tied to the house b/c I had so many children and not enough car seats...if I did want to venture out into public:rolleyes: Prehaps I should just pretend that I had booster seats cause Im sure I wouldn't go anywhere anyways. Its just knowing that I can't makes me want to. Then SIL broke it to me this afternoon that she needs me again tomorrow. So my 2 days off...I was stuck in the house. I can't say anything though b/c she took DS Mon and Tues...so I kinda owe her. I don't really have anywhere to go.

After dinner DH went FISHING (first time since I got mad at him last week) and I had DS...(AGAIN) His balloon floated away while he was outside, which he is usually o.k with but of course it couldn't float far, far away. It just got stuck in the trees by our house. Unfortunatley I am not 30 feet tall so i couldn't reach the GD thing and he lost his MIND! I took him for a drive and bought him a new one but when we were pulling out of the parking lot he seen something else he wanted and LOST his MIND again...then I started to LOSE my MIND! I seriously thought i was going to snap! Thank God he fell asleep while we were out!

If I ever get on your nerves for whining alot...please tell me! There are certain places I feel like I can vent and one of them is Catheland.

Wendy** So the 2 workouts went over well? That was my goal today but I don't think I can drag my lazy arse to the basement, never mind actually lifting something. But you just wait, when its time to go to bed...i will be wide awake! I do like STS but I think I could hand it over to my sister now and tell her to keep it for a while. Also, one of the girls kinda gets on my nerves a little. Im not sure which one it is...one of the new ones. When cathe is talking she is nodding her head, always looking at her muscles and blah blah...I don't know...just can't take to her. There were a few in the P90X series that I didn't like either! LOL I know Im a *itch!

Laura** So glad to hear you dog is o.k! When the girls were here this afternoon they started talking about Chico and I told them that he was in the box on the fireplace. Of course they didn't beleive me! Why would they...they are 4,6 & 7! I probably told them more then they should know at this age. Ah...i also painted their toenails and nails. Im sure if the parents don't like it they can remove it themselves:p

Diana** Your Dh sounds like mine. We never went to the dr when we were growing up. Well, we did but not for every ache and pain. But DH and his fam go to the Dr for everything! I can't say much anymore though. We should have taken him earlier when he had pnemonia and the other day when he was sick I kinda brushed that off as well...but Dh was right again. From now on (when it comes to temps) I will listen to him. DS wouldn't have been in the hospital as long as he was if we had taken him earlier. Prehaps i should stick to STS, there is only 2 weeks left anyway.

Jacque** I haven't done PLB in such along time! I need a new ball actually. Good job with Imax. Have you received Insanity yet? Im still hoping mine will show up here on time!

Jen** what about you? Insanity show up at your door yet? I don't know what Wendy as done to us!!!! She is a good sells lady!

As for the thread title, isn't there already an Insanity thread? Whats that all about? I don't care what we do. Im to tired to think of a name right now...my brain is mush!

Yes, yes, we do need to keep in mind there is already one Insanity thread going. I think we can still use Insanity in our title and be okay as long as its a little different than the other.

Lori-I notice that I'm not nearly as patient as I was when I was younger. However, I am pretty patient with my gd's...they are awesome. I'm sure the girls enjoyed Auntie Lori painting their nails. What a good auntie you are! I think the new girls are Denise and Deazie. My guess is your talking about Denise.
 
Well I'm at home now and shortly before getting off work my stomach started hurting. Had some pretzels hoping it will calm down a bit - and it's nearly 100" and MUGGY too ! Not quite sure I'll workout this evening. I do need to color them "grays" so . . . :rolleyes:

So Lori I'll whine right along with you ! :p Never bothers me as I have surely done my share when having my bad or glum days and everyone is always so supportive. Hope the remainder of today and then tomorrow go better for you.

And ! ! ! ! All that is showing on my tracking is Shipped/Billed 8/31 but no delivery info at all ! May not have it in time to start next week . . . :mad:


Jen - so you never even opened STS? Was that when you were "laid up"? It is not something I would pair with Insanity from what I am hearing. STS was quite intense and they were 60 min workouts. I just don't think I'm up for spending that much time working out. Plus I could never eat enough to sustain my energy !

Laura - wonderful your baby is fine and hungry ! :D Hungry says it all ! :p Wow that's quite a rotation you got going there. Should take care of all the extra indulgences you have taken on the past couple of vacations ! ;)

Diana - so sorry to hear the Insanity has hurt your feet. Will you be able to continue? Have you checked out the cal burn vs other Cathe workouts yet? I'm anxious to see how that goes - though HIIT is supposed to be better over the course of the next day or so. Guess that's why so many are losing lbs quickly cuz it sounds like you continue the HIIT daily? :eek: I'm with you and would like to keep "control" or "damage" in our thread title. I'm kinda used to that . . . old dogs don't like new tricks - at least for me ! ;)

Wendy - glad your double workouts went well. You should sleep past 4 tonight, huh? :p

Time to get moving here . . . enjoy the evening ! Perhaps I'll investigate some UB premixes in a bit to come up with a rotation ASSUMING BB EVER DECIDES TO SHIP MY INSANITY WORKOUTS ! ! ! :rolleyes:

back in my location but filling in on counter ..3rdof month and checks dropped .. insane crazy again here .. will be worse tmrw /w3rd check and FRI payday.. plus I will be in another office .. ugh .. :confused::confused: .. so I worked myself into such a frenzy gave myself a headache .. took so many ibuprofen and it didnt touch it ..by the time I got home I had a full blown migraine .. had to take meds and get on couch .. took some more b-4 bed .. feeling DRUGGED today .. but head is better ... my baby dog is home and he was soo tired.. doing good though .. the thing on his face was worse than I thought he must have cut deep b/c he has a 6 inch incision w/ aobut 10 -12 staples :confused: .. poor baby!!! but he is doing good! Thank God! :D

Wendy .. I am going to attempt Pure Cardio today .. if my head allows it .. it looks TERRIBLY hard .. hope I dont pass out!! :confused:

Lori .. I was LOLROTF at your post ... you, the kiddo, and the balloon tragedy .. I am sorry that was hillarious :p .. feel free to share your frustration any time .. we all have those days .. think I am the one w/the most whinning and fussing stories .. LOL .. I remember one time when DN was a little bitty thing SIL and I took him on his first REAL outting at the mall they had new cars on display there .. he latched onto one and started begging his mother to buy it .. crying screaming .. she got on to him .. but that wasnt gonna quiet him .. he pitched a ROYAL fit .. clinging on screaming at each car we came to .. we were SOOOOO embarrassed .. kept walking off from him thinking he would leave it alone .. OH NOOOOOOO not that day :confused::mad: .. he was on a one of a kind TEAR that day .. LOL!!!! :p

Di - the cardio and resistance was easier than the plyo one to me .. I will say I dont think pushups should be done that fast .. dont really think you make any gains doing them that fast .. he keeps talking proper form .. but H### he dont even give you time to GET INTO proper form .. he is done by the time I am getting the first few done.. LOL (guess that is showing my age huh?)

Jacque .. if your billing says the 31st you should be getting it any day now right???? I saw your temps into 100 degrees??? WOW .. stay cool woman!! It is NICE here today .. around 82 or so .. supposed to get into the 60's tonight they have been saying that but so far we have not made it .. but it is less humid today and cloudy not rainy .. so we may make it tonight .. :)

OK .. so as long as my headache stays at bay the plan is for SIL to teach for me tonight and me try to tackle Pure Cardio .. SIL did it yesterday .. said it was hard .. she was sore today .. but it was not as hard as Plyo one .. so we will see .. I keep thinking .. NO REST >> NO REST >> UGH NO REST >>> hope I dont pass out.. LOL!!!! OK .. gotta run ladies .. have a great one!:D
