Damage Control

Hello! Not much going on here. Living the day to day of work, cook, clean, workout, etc. The world cup of soccer started Thursday so we signed up to be able to see all the matches.

I don't know about another trip this year. We are still waiting to get the Medicare part B card that will allow Dan to see any doctor. Once we get that we're going to see about the second opinion and go from there.
Although, he does seem to be adjusting to his new limitations pretty good and I think he's getting to the acceptance phase. If he gets told again that he's not a candidate for surgery my plans are wide open!

What are your plans for the week? I have a kickoff to summer lunch at work on Tuesday-woohoo (not). Work has been trying. Management is terrible. This girl that's been there just a year and has a 17 year old daughter that was just diagnosed with MS in May is getting the run around about her PTO and FMLA. I'm appalled that the manager is not working with her to help her. Besides the picnic book club is Wednesday and then Saturday we leave for Columbia,PA for my uncle's ash distribution and the family reunion.

I'm still working on deep cleaning-did our bedroom for 8 hours yesterday. Today is the front foyer and upstairs hall way. After that I'm on to closets in our bedroom, the upstairs closet, and then maybe the boys' rooms. Although I probably won't be able to talk Chris into letting me do it! It's been oddly very relaxing to do all this cleaning. I am actively trying to get less stuff to have to clean and take care of at the same time. I want it to be as simple as possible. Honestly, a smaller house would be better. My fantasy self still envisions a two bedroom in San Francisco.

Anyway, have a great day!

I haven't been sleeping, only getting 4-5 hours and its really impacting my life. We had a big upgrade on Frinday night. Thankfully it was my off Friday and I did not volunteer to do testing on Saturday. Honestly, I didn't feel bad about. I have not logged into work once this weekend, and I'm already dreading Monday.

Workouts have been pretty good this past week. Almost done with Meso 3, then will switch to an upper/lower split. The 2 uppers and the length is just a lot get through, especially when doing each week twice. Today was chest/back, walk around the lakes and mow the lawn.

My son from Virginia was here for a week. It was so nice to see him. He's considering moving back and would live here for a short time and then he wants to move back to his previous apartment complex, about 4-5 miles away. He's been working from home for a while, so he wants to come back to CO. We'll see what his company says and what he decides.

We head to our Condo on the 19th or 20th. It will be nice to get out of this heat. We are expected to hit a 100 on Wed or Thursday. This old body does not handle the heat very well. The temps will be in the 70's in the mountains and I'm so looking forward to it. It's just nice to get away.

Not sure I mentioned, my youngest finally got a job as a pharmacy technician. Much different that tire/light mechanic work he has been doing. Hopefully he will like it. He started at the bottom of the payscale, but once he gets some required certifications his salary will go up. David and I want to talk to him about moving out. See how much 1 bedroom apartments are, get a second job if necessary to meet those needs. I need to know he can take care of himself. I won't know that if he continues living here.

Sorry to hear Dan is still struggling. Why does it take so long for medicare to kick in? Our medical programs are horrible in the US. I know where I work, they want you to take all your PTO before you use FMLA. I really dislike that. Enjoy the family reunion. It's nice when family gets together. Let me know how it goes with Dan, still wanting to take a trip in September. My son is starting a new job, Rallie will be starting college, they aren't available to go anywhere either.

Hope you have a great week!
