Damage Control Week of May 9th

Hi Ladies,

Worked my butt off this morning with STS TB! Used heavy weights and loved it. I had to take a few extra breathers in there, but I'm using heavier weight than Cathe & Crew.

This VP came in and cleaned house. I'm not rocking the boat. Employee's have voiced their concerns but I don't see anything changing. He was made a member of the board his first year.

Lori-enjoy coffee with your friend. I love to do that when I have the time, which isn't very often. Sometimes I wish I knew how to play cards....oh well. Have fun with the girls tonight!:)

Wendy-I haven't tried Tabata Inferno yet. I have so many workouts I haven't even tried yet. I have my favorites and have been throwing in some of the new ones here and there. Good job on the weight loss....moreso on the lower bodyfat%!!!:p I'm always smaller when I lift heavy as I can, although my weight never changes more than 5lbs. I can wear a smaller size. For me to lose weight, I need to do a ton of cardio...and healthy eating too.

Laura-I want to come take your class! I'm not surprised you scared away another new student! You must be really intimidating!;) It sounds like you really do know how I feel. I've been beaten down so much lately, I just want to cry. Unfortunately crying about it won't fix the problem. I'm looking at some options, but it could take awhile to find another job.

I'm working from home today, and it's time for me to get back to it! bbl
 
Diana:: It can be tough to find the time to get more cardio in. I know I arranged my STS rotation to allow for more then the 3 days of cardio that it's written for and it's tough to get done sometimes. Those double work outs on weekends are killer at times both physically and time-wise! I was considering cutting back a bit on the extra cardio now that I'm on WW b/c I think I might be okay but I will wait to test that theory out until I've hit my goal I think. I am thinking I can realistically get to goal by month end so I can test out less cardio with Meso 3. :) Board member huh? :eek: They are a big deal around here too. OY. Such politics and red tape and BS if you ask me! :rolleyes:

Im using the computer with missing keys again:confused: Oddly enough, I know which keys are what...it's just the space bar that is the pain.

Yesterday I ended up doing Disc 15,B&G abs, 15 mins on TM,15 mins on bike and 40/20. I don't feel any DOMS yet....we will see what happens. Im not sure what today's workout is. My parents are stopping in on their way to the city and my first client was suppose to be at 12:30 but now she wants to come earlier...which is ok with me. My plan was to run and do disc 14 but my legs feel sore this morning:confused: Go figure.

Wendy** I need to get another bf monitor. I had one but I have no clue what happened to it. My bf% always seemed to be good but of course I can't remember what it was. I would like to have someone take it professional. I have no clue what services they offer in the city. I always wonder about the one where you go under water. You would think I would remember the name cause it was the last chapter I read in my book!:confused: Glad that its going down for you:)

Laura** I am always amazed when people don't know what to do when it comes to working out but I guess if they aren't into in...then that's the way it goes. The simplest things for us are tough for others.

Diana** I need to get STS TB as well...I need alot of things;) Maybe I shouldn't have bought so much lulu! LOL

Wendy, is your bf monitor the handheld one that doesn't pinch the skin? I was looking and the only one I could find was that one and it also tells you the BMI. If that is the one, do you think its accurate??

I have the Omron Hand Held Body Fat Monitor and yes, it also tells you your BMI. No, it's not going to give you an accurate reading of what your true body fat percentage is. Chances are that it will be too low BUT it will give you a proper gauge of wether it's going up or down and by how much. The hand helds though are a bit closer to accurate then the scales and I think if you can get someone to do the calipers (pinchers) properly then that is more accurate still. The Bod Pod though is the next best thing to the dunk tank which in on spot (and which I won't do!:eek:) but I would like to do it but I can't find a Bod Pod in my area. :(

Good Morning.

Disc 22 is done :D and whoa! It's shorter then any U/B sts work out I've done thus far, clocking in at a mere 43 minutes but wow it was tough! I pushed hard and felt it :eek: and I hated every single push up too! :p

Not much else goin' on around here. I'll pop back in once there are more posts to respond to!

Good Morning Ladies,

I was up early today so I could take DS3 to a dentist appt. He got his filling and was at school on time! I just popped home to check in and eat my breakfast. No workout to report this morning. Not sure what's going on today but should be able to get to the rec ctr for some cardio work.

DS2 gave me the rundown on my phone, synched it with my computer and put my itunes playlist on my phone. It's sweet!!! I also have all my cathe downloads on my phone!

Lori-I have the omron too and I like it. For bootcamp, they use a scale that not only gives you bf%, but total fat free mass, water weight etc. It has a lot of useful information to help you see where you need to focus your attention. If your metabolism is too low, they recommend you lift weights etc. I think the term your looking for is "hydrostatic". They do that several times a year at nearby rec centers.

Wendy-pushups...cathe just seems to always throw them in. I struggle with the tricep pushups in sts tb and do them on my knees. I don't get very good range of motion when doing them on my toes. I'm pretty good at standard pushups though...thanks to Cathe.

LauraT- what's on your agenda today?

Diana:: The only time I was ever any good at push ups, pull ups and chin ups was during and immediately following(when I still did them often) my P90X rotation back in 2007. I've never been anywhere near as good since then. :rolleyes: Basically, I stink! :p Enjoy whatever work out you are able to fit into your day today and when you see that VP at work today, give him a dirty look from me please! ;)

HEy ..

we had a wonderful GGT last night - was great!!! I didnt overdo .. but I didnt do real good either :eek: oh well .. today is another day! ;)

Lori - What a workout this morning .. geesh!! I think the problem w/my class is that people come in expecting a Jane Fonda type workout and instead they get a combo of Cathe, SeanT, BH, and TonyH :eek: and they dont know what to think ...??? .. it is hard to "dumb down" a class that is advanced .. even tho I give modifiers they still dont do them??

Wendy - I hate pushups too - my shoulder especially does - they are effective tho - I too was the strongest at them while doing P90X ... the shoulder injury has held me back but I still do them and do fair at them!

Di - what kind of phone did you get? sounds awesome!!! I hate ITUNES .. it is SOOOO not user friendly to me .. ugh

OK .. soooo errands at lunch - cant do much in this heat anyways! Tonight is PLYO class :eek: :D :D bring it on!!!!!! Have a great day ...
 
LauraT:: It's an advanced class that you teach. You offer modifiers for the harder moves. That's all you can do if you intend to keep it ADVANCED and your new students need to and should understand this. :confused: Common sense if you ask me! :rolleyes: Glad you had a blast last night! :D
 
Good Morning:)

Not sure what is on the agenda today. I have training at 12:30 and again 4'ish but that's it. And I think DH is going with a buddy for the night. Would be a good girls nigh out but to tell you the truth, I don't care for a load of towels tomorrow morning;)

I did Disc 14 yesterday and abs. I had intended to run outside but I went to a friend's house and we chatted to much. I didn't get home until 4 and I really didn't want to run on the TM so I did no cardio yesterday:eek: Madness!!! So when this coffee is gone I will be starting in on my workout. I wanted to run outside this morning as well but its raining and DH will have to go to work soon.

Wendy** I found two monitors online. One was the black one and the other was the white one. I am not sure what the difference is but the black one was half of the price which of course leaves me to believe that it isn't as good as the white one. When I do a search I am amazed at how few there are.

Diana** Did you get a workout in yesterday?? Kids really know their electronics...its b/c they have the time!! My bathroom scale tells me a few things as well but I threw the manual out and now I have no clue what percentage is what.

Laura** I'm sure your students would prefer a tougher workout then a Jane workout. I *looked* at my Insanity set yesterday but I didn't pull anything out. Maybe I should today b/c yesterday was a no cardio day. Glad to hear you had a fun night!

Morning Glories. TGIF!!!

I am only working at my JOB 1/2 a day today but I'll still be working my tail off getting ready for Joey's party tomorrow!:D

Today's work out:

KCM Circuit Burn: Cardio/Leg premix - 1/2 of it because it goes thru moves once and then repeats so I did everything 1 time (15 mins)
KCM Circuit Burn: Boxing/Leg premix - same as above (15 mins)
KCM Split Sessions: Floor work (band work for lower body plus one ab move) (15 mins?)
Plank Hold on Elbows: 2 1/2 mins.

Great sweaty burner there! No weighted gloves today for the boxing moves though cause of all things, I have some intense lat DOMS from work Chest/Shoulders/Triceps y'day!? Go figure! :confused:

Off to get my food packed, etc.

Good Morning Ladies,

So happy it is finally Friday! I have a few meetings today but expect it to be a great day!

I have cardio on tap this morning and will pick out a short cardio when I get downstairs. I'm kind of leaning towards a circuit but know I won't have time to complete it. I'll figure something out.

By the way, I got botoxed last night....ssshhhhh don't tell. DH doesn't know. The dr. said the full effects would be noticeable by day 10. I can see a difference already this morning.

Wendy-love the new avatar! Nice mish mosh this morning. Woo Hoo, is Joey going to be 6? How fun!!

Lori-No, I did not get a workout in yesterday. I'm not worried about it though. They just occur when my work schedule gets in the way and fortunately it happens about once a week.

LauraT-ITA w/Wendy, you teach an advanced class. Your class is probably not the best to start with. Do you have any plans for the weekend? I need to get back to Asylum. Agility and Speed...will be doing that one tomorrow.
 
Hi Girls,

Just finished my workout. It took a while b/c I did laundry and called a friend in between. I thought it was going to be a short conversation b/c she just came off of night shifts...but there are no short conversations with her.

My workout was slo mo shoul,bic,tri, CM2, 30 min on the TM, 10 bike and 30/30.

Wendy** Parties are alot of work. He will enjoy it though. Nice workout to get your day going.

Diana** I always wonder if I will take the plunge someday. The only lady that offers the service in town...well, her face doesn't move. I won't tell DH:p You guys have kept my lulu secret after all. Do you think he will notice?

Hey Ladies ..

Class was AWESOME and a sweat fest! I did the harder plyos - repeated cycles once :eek: it was GREAT .. and I left a sweaty trembling mess!!! :D I love it!!! the new girl came back :confused: :eek: :confused: she didnt do 3/4 of the workout but she DID modify and she is trying .. I will give her kudos there .. she left when the burpess started (about 40 min in) not sure what that is about :confused:

Lori - guessing the girls night out would have been in the jacuzzi if towels are involved??? LOL .. sounds fun to me!!! I am having a NICE QUIET relaxing time at home tonight - jacuzzi and candles and some ME time sound just devine!~!:)

Wendy - wow what a w/o this morning .. wish I had your engery in the mornings .. I am for sure a NIGHT person!!! How old is the munchkin now??? I saw his pics on FB .. WOW he is growing up .. getting long and lean!!! My DN is same way .. growing like a bean sprout - tall and lanky!!!

DI - botox? Ok I REALLY think you took the comment about you looking older than your hubby too much to heart .. I have seen your pics and you dont!!! You look AWESOME .. but your secret is safe w/me ;) DId you see news clip of a mother giving botox injections to HER 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER .. b/c she had lines in her face ???? :confused: :mad::mad::mad: WTF??? she needs to be put under the jail .. crap the world has gone mad!!!

OK .. it is FRIDAY13th!! Hoping for a GOOD one not a bad one!!! Not sure what is on tap for today - going to visit my friend that is battling cancer - she is not doing real good - gonna take some food over and have a short visit .. so not sure what tonight will bring!!

The weekend - no plans it is to rain FINALLY - we need it .. the crops need it and we need this pollen to get washed away .. it is horrible .. my Baby Buster was out in it all day ystdy and now he is back to coughing and gagging .. ??

Lori:: Yup, and this party is going to be even more work then usual since I decided that I enjoy cooking. I have 6 things on the menu for tmrw that I need to make! :eek: I am hoping that DH and DS will make one of them for me since it's something they should be able to handle!;)

Diana:: LOL so how did you end up getting botoxed in secret? :)

So today was week #4 weigh in for WW. No loss. No gain. I can deal with that.....for now! ;)

well looks like today will be forced REST day - we are about to get hit w/some REAL bad weather :( and it has been WILD .. can tell FULL MOON on the rise!!! GEESH .. still somehow got to manage to get food and go visit my friend - the bad storm is headed straight to my house .. dang it .. large hail and 70 mph winds ... no mention of tornado warnings soooo that is GREAT tho!!

OK .. so if I miss today - that means DOUBLE whammy workout tmrw - :eek: - ok .. will check in later ladies .. have a great night .. i will try to check in w/you girlies this weekend to report!!!
 
Hi Ladies,

I've been really busy at work lately which is a good thing. Unfortunately, I didn't work out this morning. I had an early meeting and just didn't get up early enough.

My weekend plans include buying a new lawn mower and mowing the lawn! I love mowing the lawn!!! It's been raining the last few days and the lawn is getting pretty long. We are also supposed to get more rain this weekend. I'm also going to see Fast Five..and it's received rave reviews...like this is the best one. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie tomorrow...along with a laser hair removal appt. I promise I will get in a w/o tomorrow.

As for the botox, I went yesterday and it was pretty painless. I have wrinkles from my eyes that run down into my cheeks making me look old. The difference I can see today is that the wrinkles are just around the eye area, not down into the cheek area. She said I would see the full results in 10 days and the process would need to be repeated in about 4 mos. or so. If it does make a noticeable difference, then I will try to keep it up. If not, this will be the end of it.

Lori-I'll keep your lulu secret, afterall that's what friends do!! I think it will be a subtle difference. I'm not sure if he will notice or not. I can see the small difference today, but hope it is much improved by day 10.

Wendy-so glad you are enjoying cooking! I'm actually starting to enjoy cooking myself. It was difficult with three picky kids who only wanted chicken nuggets and french fries. Make time to enjoy Joey's party tomorrow, they really do grow up so fast.

Laura-I'm glad your newbie came back for another try. I've been in our bodystep classes before and there are women there who have never stepped before. They end up struggling through the whole class. Sorry to hear your friend is not doing very well. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers. You are such a good friend to her. Stay safe and warm this weekend. I think I'm doing agility and speed tomorrow. In my mind, this was the toughest w/o and I'm having a hard time getting my mind wrapped around doing this w/o again. Hopefully it won't be as hard as I've imagined.

Good Morning:)

What a nap I had:D DH went to his friends cabin for the night (which you guys knew about cause you were suppose to come hot tub'in ;)) and I fell asleep with DS. I then got into my own bed and woke up at 4:37 with the tv still on! Right back to sleep again until 8:45. We don't normal sleep that long in this house.

I am not entirely sure that the plan is here today. DH wants me to bring DS where he is and then I can go for my run but its raining and cold out there. I have no desire to run in this. Hopefully it will clear up. The only other thing I have on the go is having friends over for dinner. We have been trying to get together atleast once a month. We take turns going to each other's house and we pick a theme. Tonight its Chinese.

I feel some DOMS in my shoulders from yesterday's workout. But that's it. Today would have normally been a leg day but I still have some DOMS going on in my butt cheeks:eek: So I will probably lay off until tomorrow.

Wendy** Is Joey excited about his party!? You had a busy day in the kitchen. I decided to make a couple of dishes yesterday as well and I was pretty much at it all evening. One of my clients brought snowman cookies for DS and he loves them. He loves how they look, more so then how they taste. So I made some of those. I also made cream cheese brownies for DH and burgers for his supper. Oh yeah...and a cheese cake for tonight. Hope he has a good day!

Diana** Hopefully you will get the results you are looking for. Im sure I will be digging into my wallet in another few years. I sometimes wonder if everyone else is in denial about their age like I am. One of DH's employees graduated from highschool yesterday and DH said "remember when we graduated"? Its only then do I realize how long ago I graduated. I don't think our minds ever catch up with our bodies.

Laura** What kind of cancer does your friend have? Is she in the hospital or at home? Glad to hear your student came back!! That's a good sign. She might be the stubborn type who won't give up. Hope the storms aren't to bad....or maybe they will pass by altogether!

Hi ladies,

I just finished Super Sets. I hadn't done this in it's entirety in probably years. I love the Lower Body Blast premix and do that most often. It was a nice change of pace but I used much heavier weights.

Lori-glad you finally got to sleep in. When my kids were little, we were always up early on the weekends. I think your chinese dinner with friends sounds like fun! Remember, I'm 10yrs older than you young lady!

Wendy-Hope you are taking some time to enjoy Joey's party. You worked on it yesterday and this morning too I'm sure, you need to sit back and enjoy your efforts too. Happy Birthday Joey!!!
