DAMAGE CONTROL...WEEK OF May 15th!

Good Morning Everyone.

The party was a success-the food was awesome- but I never stopped! :eek: I think between the hours of 8am and 8pm I sat down to eat and to watch my son open his gifts. That's it! Oh and for 10 mins after cake right before everyone left. :rolleyes:

OMG my upper body is soooo sore this morning. WOW. I guess it's a combo of y'day's work out (lotsa boxing combos with weight gloves in TLC) and whatever I did for the party. I can't do STS today. Not even legs. I'm changing my plan to step. I will do one of the new KCM step work outs today I think. Hopefully I can make it happen BEFORE Joey's CEC party or it probably won't happen at all. :eek:

I was already here once today but posted on the other thread. I never know if we start this thread on Mon's or Sun's.

My workout was short lived this morning. I called work and there was nothing on the go but that changed. I had to be here by 10:45 but my flight didn't show up until 11:40...so I could have worked out alot longer:mad: I did 20 mins on the TM,16 mins on the bike and PH abs. I am hoping to do some reading soon but that usually means I will get sleepy:( I think I will go see what stories these goones I am working with have for me today. They usually have some funny stories to tell.

Wendy** Parties are like that. I was always wiped after b-day parties. The last one I kept a little more low key then normal. I just wanted friends there to be honest but I ended up having a few more. Last night's dinner was like a bday party in itself!

While I was working out this morning, I watched a commercial for kettleworx. Anyone see this? I was interested but I don't think it could be any tougher then the cathe workouts I have. I checked the price online and it was $99 for 3 workouts. Im guessing you get the KB with it. I would much rather preorder the cathe workouts then those.

I set my alarm and got my run in before DS even woke up. I checked the weather last night and it was suppose to be a nice day so I thought WTH! I did 11 k and was home before DH had to go to work. Just ate a bowl of oatmeal and now I am going to do GS chest and tri's I think.

Good Morning Ladies,

I was a lazy girl yesterday and got caught up on all my recordings. I need to make a list and get going on some more household cleanup.

I will be doing cardio this morning, not sure what though.

Lori-that's awesome that you already got your run in!!! We've been having rain for the past few days. It sure is greening up the lawn which is good since 2 of our sprinkler zones are not working in the back. I thought you had a long break from work????

Wendy-so glad Joey's bday party was a big success. You do have to remember to sit down and enjoy these times too.

Laura-How did you spend your weekend?

Morning.

Yesterday I couldn't wrap my mind around a work out. I did one but it was sad and frustrating. :confused: I did about 20 mins of KCM's Get Ready Step Go and couldn't catch on very well to the moves -her stepping style is very different and my brain was not ready for that! Once I got frustrated with that I did the cardio drills at the beginning of Sylwia's Cardio Mat work out and called it a day.

This morning I was going to do D23/Legs but I overslept b/c my phone shut off on me so I didn't get up until 5. I use cell phone for my alarm clock but it needs to be replaced b/c it's old and broken and my DH is dragging his feet on getting to the Verizon store w/me. :mad:

So anyway I changed up my work out to Plyometrics from KCM's 30 Min to Fitness Cardio Blast DVD. Good work out but not what I intended. :rolleyes:

Lori:: IMHO kettleworx is not the way to go for kettlebells. If you want to try the bells then buy a bell and buy a work out from instructors Anthony Dilugio, Lauren Brooks, etc.

Hey Ladies:

I had a WONDERFUL weekend!!! :eek: storms FRI night - but didnt get as bad as we were thinking - had a nice visit w/my friend - she looked better than I was expecting her to - she flew back to TX - having test today - saying a prayer it is gonna be ok!! I stayed up and waiting for DH - we watched a movie LATE and had a little "fun" time - got in bed about 2 a/m - but got up early and felt great!! got the house clean - did speed and agility AND STS bis and back :eek: YUP .. I was toast afterwards - but my DN, DM, and DA came over - DN swam and played - then we did science experiments - and then bathed the dogs - then road the golf carts - I was EXHAUSTED :eek: by the time DH made it home!! LOL no workout to report for ystdy - again ran out of time -

Wendy - sounds like my SAT and your SAT we both were in hyper speed and totally worn out by days end!! :p sounds like the munchkin had a great day!!!! Glad Mom survived!!!

Lori- a friend of mine has kettle worx - she says they are "ok" but ITA w/Wendy I would go w/Anthony Dilugio, Lauren Brooks!!! My friend - she started out w/breast cancer - and now I am not really clear on it?? she doesnt like to talk about it!

DI - had an AWESOME weekend - was gonna check in w/you gals but I misplaced my phone couldnt find it - so I couldnt!!! I see I missed MOHITO night :mad: I just be danged!!!!

OK .. it is a beauty of a day today - sunshine - cool temps - feels GREAT!!! finally - the high is only 70 today :eek: HUGE change from the 90's we have been in!! may get a walk in at lunch - tonight will be circuit class w/triple sets on the LB - yes havent done that in a while - oooohhh gonna hurt sooo good!!

I am done with GS chest and Tri's. I even debated doing shoulders but DD needed a lunch dropped off at school so I called it quits.

Wendy** I own 3 KB's now. I use them for paper plate lunges and I also use them for the lunges in LBB, where Cathe doesn't use weight. No wonder my arse is sore most of the time:eek: I struggled with what I wanted to do on Sat as well and then I get irritated with everything and everyone. Finally I just went outside and was happy that I did.

Diana** I had to work yesterday and that's it, now I am off until next Mon. I work 4 days straight next week b/c of the Ottawa race. I switched shifts instead of taking holidays. It was nice to have my run done early but I am not nearly has energetic!

Laura** Sounds like you had a awesome busy weekend. This weekend we are going camping with the same friends we went on our trip with. Should be a fun weekend. I may have to check out those instructors.

O.k....must get ready for DS's appt.

Laura:: Glad you had fun this weekend and glad your friend looked better then you expected. Always a good sign Prayers comin' her way! :)

Diana:: A lazy day is much needed once in a while! So what cardio did you opt for? I've been doing cardio for days now. I need some weights back in my life! Hopefully I can bang out some STS tmrw morning with nothing messing it up! :rolleyes:
 
Powerwalk/run at lunch done! :cool: sooooooo pretty out today!!!! I changed my mind I am gonna do ALL SHAPING tonight .. I have not done that in a while .. OOOOHH get ready for some DOMS complaining from this one tmrw!!! :rolleyes: :eek: :p
 
Good Morning.

I was sooo close to missing my STS work out...AGAIN...this morning!:eek: My alarms were set and went off but somehow I STILL managed to sleep an extra 25 minutes! :rolleyes: I never got up, threw work out clothes on and drank coffee so fast in my life! :p

Excellent work out-D23/legs. :D Very worth the rush! I used my new lifting hooks. They worked well. Great inexpensive investment that saved me lots of undue tension/stress/pain! :)

Laura:: Hope you had a good shaping class last night!

Good Morning Ladies,

I have to be to work early today...again...so no morning workout for this girl. It doesn't help that I didn't sleep very well either.

Yesterday I did Intensity through the Hi HIIT drills. Last night while I was doing laundry I also did coremax segments 3 and 1.

So ladies, I applied for a job at another one of our divisions. My follow-up meeting with my boss to go over my card sort results is late this afternoon. We'll see what happens.

Lori-you would be so proud-I decided last night that I was going to run today and laid out my running clothes last night. I may get to run today. Amy Bento also has a couple kettlebell w/o's that good. I only have Anthony's w/o's and am quite happy with them.

Wendy-glad you were able to scramble and get your w/o in. Now that I'm finally feeling awake, it's time to get ready for work.

Laura-How was shaping class? Where are the DOM's today?

I gotta run...bbl!!!
 
Diana:: Good luck with your application for another position within the company. I am curious to see how the card sort comes back. Sorry you are unable to work out this morning. Bummer but we all know you'll find a way to make it up some how! ;)

YEEEOOOOOUUUCCCHHH!!! :eek: DOMS: hammies, butt, and CORE!!! :eek: :confused::confused: FRIED - I ended up doing cardio blasts between the triple sets - WOW - great workout. One of my girls said .. "Dang laura you must have had a really bad day -huh?" :D aaaahhhhhhh ... yesssssss ... that is when I know ... my work is done!! :p

Wendy - I wish I could get my butt up early - but I am late owl and getting my best sleep in the early hours :( but that sure would help if I coudl do that and bang out STS in the mornings before work!! WTG getting it in!!

Di - Good luck on both fronts - the job and your "cards" ... keeping fingers crossed the boss "got it" ..

Lori - how was your DS apnt ysty? guess you are on your OFF days now .. lucky thing!! ENJOY!!!

SOOOOO - it is FULL MOON!!! :rolleyes: :eek: :rolleyes: that means crazy day ahead!! I am in my cubby so hopefully things will be semi quiet!! After the kickarse class last night .. not sure what tonight will bring .. need some oil for the muscles and joints :p prbly will be KB, plank, pushup torture!! ;) have a great one!:D
 
Well, I'll be a monkey's aunt (LOL)....Laura is SORE again!? Imagine that!?!?! :eek:;):p:D I used to go to bed at 11pm and get up at 6:30 for work (or something along those lines) but having a kid changed all that! With out that I think I'd still be exercising after dinner so I can certainly understand why getting up early in the a.m. to work out doesn't seem managable to you. You would have to change your entire sleep schedule and that's tough to do. My son FORCED that process for me for the most part and then I just pushed the envelope a wee bit farther when I got this job! ;)

Hi ladies,

I ended up going to one of our buildings gyms and did heavy leg training. They don't have the same equipment as my gym, but certainly doable. I did walking lunges w/20# db's, Plie Squats w/50#bb, lunges, leg extensions, leg curls and leg presses, also threw in some ab work too.

I definitely need to hit cardio tomorrow. Maybe Imax 3 or BM2 cardio.

I met with my boss to go over my card sort results, which he said if he's interpreting them correctly, I'm amost a 100% match for the next grade level. He's rescheduling our meeting after he talks to HR. Only 2 items were an 80% match, all others were 100%. I'm not really sure what that means as far as getting a promotion though.

So I'm still entertaining the idea of doing STS/Insanity. I may start as soon as next week sometime. I'm probably going to follow Wendy's suggestion for following the 6 month rotation, but only do Meso's 2 and 3.

Wendy-I need to start following your wake up schedule. I could get so much more done in the morning if I would just get up. I used when DS3 was younger and I had to walk him to school. If I started my w/o at 6am everyday, well let's just say that would be ideal.

Laura-DOM's again...not our Laura!:p Glad your shaping/plyo w/o was a goodie.

So on my rest day I get up on time...actually BEFORE my alarm!:rolleyes::confused:

DOMS is here! Woo hoo I get to wince in pain today every time I sit down or stand up or bend over but you know that I love it! ;):D

The scale is on it's way back down the mountain as I recover from the weekend's eats. It's going down slower then usual this time but going in the right direction none the less! :D Plus it only went up a pound to begin with! :)

Not sure I'll lose those last 2# by Memorial Day Weekend but I'm sure as heck gonna try! Wish me luck! :D

Diana:: So why haven't you been to the WW checkin? I had been considering joining it but you haven't been there so I opted out. I do lurk though and that's good enough. ;) Sounds like the card sort went well. If you don't get the promotion now it's definite BS! :mad: (unless your boss has made a mistake but I doubt it) You can adjust your schedule if you want to. Gotta scale back bed time as you adjust your waking time though and that's what people find the hardest to do! If you work at it I am sure you could do it though! Just do it in small increments. You'll get there! It would be like a vacation for me if I could start my work outs at 6am! WOW! LOL :p

Good Morning,

I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday. I started training at 6:30 a.m and between more training, laundry, DS and my own workout, it was a full day.

I am home alone today and am hoping to do some studying. I always get stumped on certain things and I just wanna move on and just go back to it later! LOL

Yesterday I did GS B,S,B, abs and 20 mins on the bike. After I dropped DS off at school I did 6.5 k outside and it was mainly hills. Im not sure what the plan is today. I will probably run outside and do legs.

I would like to catch up on personals but I just wanted to check in and then bury my head back into these books!!

Good Morning Ladies,

I slept great and even slept in a bit. It's already 7am but I have time for a full workout. No early morning meetings etc. I'm leaning towards BM2 Cardio Blast.

Wendy-I know, I haven't been to the WW thread in a while. I also haven't been tracking my points lately. My weight seems to go up and down the same 5#'s and I can't get below a certain mark. It's very frustrating. They are a great group of gals and very encouraging.

Lori-Nice workout yesterday! I love getting cardio and weights in on the same day. Will you be done with your certification soon?

Laura-what are you up to today?
 
Diana:: Enjoy your work out. I know how you love BM2 cardio! :) Sorry about the plateu you have obviously reached. Perhaps you need to find a way to shake things up and see if that helps get you past it? Change up your eating and your work outs a bit. See if that helps. Sticking points can be VERY frustrating. I should know. I struggled with one for over a year! :confused::rolleyes:
