Hi ladies,

I couldn't get to this site this morning, it appeared to be down. Oh well. I did DWP and abs from SJP! I took more ibuprofen this morning and contemplated bagging my w/o. I do think the w/o helped with the sore legs.

Lori-I definitely want to give running another shot. I expect it to take a while to really get into it. The force of running probably isn't good for already beaten up feet, but to be able to run 6-10 miles is what I'm looking for. No way will I be ready for HM in April/May though.

Wendy-Nice job getting your w/o in this morning!

LauraT-I'm going to check out that tank. For being barely an A, I hate having to wear jog bras under all my shelf bra work out tanks. They just are not supportive enough for all the jumping I do. I'm in the market for a new washer/dryer, ours are 15/16 yrs old respectively. I've had my washer reparied 2 in the last 2 years. My dryers takes 2 cycles to dry jeans/towels....I hate it.

LauraR-nice job with high reps! I really wish Cathe provided the wts she used. I know we are all different, but its a nice gauge to have. I think that's why I prefer Power Hour of HR. Glad your running is coming along nicely.

I never got a response from Jacque either. booh.
 
Diana:: You did DWP on sore legs?! :eek: You are my hero!!!!! :D If my dryer issues get on my nerves enough I will eventually talk to DH about our options. We had the dryer repaired once (in late 2009) and that's all we've had done to it which isn't bad considering the unit is about 8 years old. Not sure if it's worth another repair though or if there is even anything they can do? :confused:

Today is my rest day. Yay me. I am actually glad to be taking one which is unusual for me. :p

My chest is FLAMIN' from Disc 10! OH.MY.GAWD! I started feeling it last night so I KNEW it was gonna be bad! :eek::eek::eek:

My lower body seems to be fine! It recovered from Disc 9 is 2 days instead of 3 this time. Progress! YAY! ;) That's good too cause I plan on taxing the lower body again tmrw! Bwahahahah! (I miss the devil smiley that used to be on these forums!)

Sorry to be such a slacker on personals this week. I've been so busy. The visitors we have are the accountant and the executive director of our board in the US, plus one of the board members. So I've been pretty swamped. Lots of meetings, plus they're staying at our house! The fact that I can kick the ED's tail on our runs has made for lots of fun conversations. ;) He told everyone that both I and the female accountant were twice the "man" he is. :p

We clocked another 3 miles this morning, at 10:13 per mile. I've gone quickly from just being thrilled to make 3 miles to actually thinking I can pick up the pace. While, on the one hand, the group run has added motivation, I think that, on my own, I can really pick up the pace. I'd like to get it down to a flat 10:00 per mile in the next couple weeks.

We leave tomorrow to head toward the capital (where the airport is), and en route, we're going to raft the Nile. I'm taking the pansy trip with the accountant who has back issues, but it's OK 'cause I've already done the steroid version. And I don't really feel like drowning again. So I'm happy with the "float" trip version. Hoping to keep up my workouts while we're gone. Gonna try to do STS plyo legs tomorrow in the am before we leave. That'll be a trick, cause we leave at 6:30am. I may be MIA for the next couple days.
 
Hi Ladies,

I'm not sure what to do today. I'm leaning towards an upper body circuit ala LIC maybe.... I may give running a try again today at lunch.

My nieces team won last night and advance to the Great 8. They play on Friday.

Tonight a bunch of us girls from work are going out to dinner. This week and next is Denver Restaurant week where you get a meal for 2 for $52.80. They are nice restaurants and serve a multi course meal.

My boss has me ordering lunches for the rest of this week and I'm finding it hard to find places that deliver to us. I may have to run out and pick up our order. We have a big project that is going live on Monday, I'm only slightly involved in it but have been doing admin duties for my boss.

Wendy-enjoy your rest day. Yes, the chest work in STS is amazing.

LauraR-are you running with your friends today? I prefer running alone too, but right now while I'm trying to get back into it it's nice to have a buddy to run with.

Laura:: I'd prefer not to drown as well. I've always been intrigued by white water rafting for the thrill factor but have no interest in risking my life in order to experience it. TYVM. :p Have fun taking the pansy route! ;)

Diana:: Dinner sounds fun. Enjoy! Congrats to your neices on their win! Enjoy your work out this morning, whatever you choose. Hope you can squeeze in the run as well.

Mish mosh class was AWESOME .. DOMS report: butt, shoulders, traps and a bit into the back and core!! WOOT woot!;) No class today .. I think I am gonna hit HEAVY weight legs in the gym at lunch .. may try the leg press since the weather is different .. if it hurts my knee this time I will know something about it is NOT for me!!!!

LauraR - LOLOLOLOL yup drowning would not be fun - WOW what an adventure though .. I would LOVE that!!!! But since you have braved it once have fun on the pansey route. that would be sooooo awesome though .. cant even imagine it!!!! What kind of wild animals would you see on a trip like that - the adrenaline trip I mean ??? and what about BUGS .. mosquitos????

Di - congrats to your niece .. WTG!!!!! sounds like you have a busy rest of the week at work . yikes .. good luck w/that!!!! and if your feet so NO to running .. give it a little more time!!! oh .. and the Y tank .. I am a full B .. and the tank gave me LOTS of support .. I am telling you I am just very impressed with it!! You will love it ... and it shows off definition in the shoulders great!!! ;)

Wendy - Hey .. been meaning to ask you .. do you feel like your lats get/got bigger doing STS .. I swear mine exploded .. so much to where when I do the chest stretch (arms clasped behind your back) .. I have to manuver my dang tris over my lats to get them to stretch :confused:

LauraT:: Nice DOMS report for you! I am dying in my chest, biceps and shoulders! It was just chest at first but it has grown! I took 3 advil almost an hour ago and I swear it's done NOTHING to ease the pain! :eek: No "lat explosion" from STS yet but I have not been doing pull/chin ups and those are what really get my lats good! I will have the tower in just a few short days though so may the exploding begin! :D
 
legs done! :D did leg press didnt hurt my knee .. must be the weather affecting them!!!!

:eek: and let me say .. I filled up w/gas at lunch :mad: it cost me $53 to fill up my Maxima!!! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: WTH??????? That is ridiculous!! $3.38 a gallon!!!! :mad::mad: and it is steadily climbing by the day .. heck by the hour here lately!! GEESH what is going to happen to our economy!! :( My 60+ total mile commute every day is gonna KILL my wallet .. me and SIL may really have to car pool!! UGH

Wendy let me know if you get the lat explosion .. so I can figure out it if is normal .. or is it just my HUNGA BUNGA body that puts on muscle like that :confused:

LauraT:: Well I did the X with all of it's pull/chin ups and got great definition but never felt like my lats "exploded" so it might just be you :p OR it could be the particular combination of exercises as Cathe has them put together thru out STS. Time will tell I guess! Yeah, gas prices are rising for sure! We've been through this many times over the years though. I don't like it but it doesn't surprise me anymore and I am used to it by now.... :rolleyes:

Hello.

Not going to be happy today. Woke up at 2:30 and couldn't fall back to sleep. Laid in bed with my eyes closed but awake until 4. :(:mad::confused:

Work out report:
LBB w/u, cardio blast 1, disc exercise, cardio blast 2, disc exercise, cardio blast 3, band work, all cardio blasts, prone hamstring work wearing 1# ankle weights, all cardio balsts, all standing leg conditioning drills, HR abs, 1 minute side planks, stretch. :D

Thursday Thursday....

Dinner was delicious. I had arugula salad for the appetizer, beef filet with mashed potatoes and green beans, dessert was creme brulee....delicious!!! There were 9 ladies in our group last night and it we had a good time.

Yesterday day morning I did LIC upper body circuit. I'm leaning towards Intensity this morning and maybe legs/running/or weigh in at lunch. This is the last nice day this week as we are expecting snow tomorrow. I'd like to run again if only for a short distance. I need to work my way back into it.

Wendy-It's not very often I hear you having to take ibuprofen, I did earlier in the week too.:D What's on tap for today?

LauraT-Glad you got your heavy leg work in. I'm having a knee issue too. I'm not even sure how I hurt it. Yeah, the gas prices suck. How is our economy ever supposed to recover???? I'm checking out that lulu Tank. It sounds like I may need it.:)

LauraR-enjoy your rafting trip. I've gone white water rafting in Alaska and it was awesome.

THURS .. help PT ladies!!

Morning Ladies!!!

THIRD of mnth .. gonna be insane here .. but we have extra help so I am at my desk .. WOOOHOOO :D OK - went for a run after work - felt great - did great - strong - BUT AGAIN at the end of the run after the 6 sets of sprints my DANG QUAD started up again .. WTH??? this really has me stumped .. it comes on slowly .. like I can "work thru it" .. then it gets WORSE - well when I was cooling down - it got ever worse!!! :mad: it is definatly the small muscle that is on top of the femur that tendons connect to the knee - same one I TORE 3 years ago .. but this is in the MIDDLE Of my leg .. like it feel like on top of the femur in middle . COME ON PT GIRLIES .. WTH is going on with it??? It was hurting so bad I had to use cruise control on way home b/c I couldnt press the gas peddal w/my foot :( I took a hot bath, ibuprofen, and put freeze it on it - took about 2 hours and it finally started feeling better ???? it is fine today .. ?????WTH?????????:mad::confused::mad:

Wendy - sorry about the bad night's sleep .. but WTG on the kick arse workout!!!

I am up earlier then usual today but I went to bed earlier then usual so it should all even itself out. Yesterday was such a crazy day. I am not sure how I did this for 2 months before I cut back a little at work. DS is being a real pain lately as well, so that doesn't help. I am hoping its just a phase and not something that is linked to his speech delay. But with that being said, whenever he goes to anyone elses home he is an angel and he listens and behaves so well. Atleast I have that going for me.;)

Back to work today and I think the boss is coming. He never actually comes to see us....just where he parks his plane. And then my boss whines because they never spend anytime talking to him...LOL. Who in their right mind would want that. (For some reason I have no question mark today:mad:

So I am leaning towards a run and then disc 11. I haven`t had a chance to do that one yet. The main reason why I am up so early is to workout before my 6:30 client gets here. So I can either do cardio or weights before she gets here. Weights would be the smarter choice because it gives me more time to wake up and then i won`t be all sweaty while she is here. But I have more time on this end of it and would like to get a good run in:confused:


I may try to catch up on personals later. It may be hard with the boss around and my manager under my feet. I wish they would take him with them sometimes...wherever it is that they go! LOL

I am going to a hockey game tonight with DH, my BFF and her fiancee. I've never been to one and am askeered. They tell me it's fun so we'll see. I don't even like hockey but I've been getting begged to come and there will be food and booze there to gorge on before the game starts so I'm good! :p

Hi Ladies,

My body is sore today! I got 3 workouts in yesterday and was brave enough to step on the scale this morning! I did Intensity, heavy leg training and lunch, and bootcamp last night. My weight is back down. I opted to skip my weigh in to work out at lunch yesterday.

My niece is playing in the quarter finals tonight but her team has the first game, 4pm. I had to call her last night and let her know I probably can't make it. DH and I are trying to find a way to get out of work early so we can be there for her.

My workout will have to a short one this morning, probably 4ds kickbox.

Lori-Fortunately, my boss is not a hoverer....as a matter of fact we hardly can catch him when we need him. How is Rylan's speech therapy coming along?

LauraT-sorry, I don't have any suggestions for your knee pain. Rest, ice, and ibuprofen.

Wendy-I must've started my post yesterday before you posted, but you finished first! Have fun at the Hockey game. DH and I are big Avalanche fans....Colorado's Professional Hockey Team. DH watches every game on TV and we try to make it to a few games too.

well Hello ladies!!!!

I did try to teach plyo class last night .. the leg started off good .. but then it got tight .. then started feeling "iffy" .. like if I pushed it much harder I would REALLY injure it - even felt some of the "iffyness" in my bad knee :confused: and I damned sure dont want to injur that again!!! so I stopped about 1/2 way thru and did POWER YOGA :eek: which was AWESOME BTW .. I needed it bad!! My shoulders are sore this morning from it .. so it is obvious I am slacking in my yoga practice!~

Ok since my PT people FLUNKED out on suggestions on the knee problem :mad: .. DR LAURA has diagnosed herself :p - it is the same quad muscle that I tore the tendon on 3 years ag0 - I am blaming the heavy weight leg press as the culprit - so NO MORE LEG PRESS for me - I dont think I have a tear or a pull - but a strain - SOOOOOO REST IS BEST!! Plus Ibuprofen and freeze it!!!

Lori - man hate the hovering boss thing ..LOL .. have fun on your workout!

Wendy - I think you will have fun at the hockey game .. hey .. snack and cold beer :D I would be in no matter!!!! :p

Di - hope your neices team wins!!!!

OK .. I am leaving early today .. DH surprised me w/a GOOD DATE NIGHT tonight :eek: so NO WORKOUT - REST day for sure .. and more than liekly I will take ONE MORE REST DAY TMRW ... then try something low impact like high reps or STS TB???
