Damage Control...Tuesday-Well atleast it's not Monday!

Good Morning Chicas. :)

I ended up bring DS with me to the gym right from school at 4pm. I did my own thing just running to music. Mostly steady state with about a minute of increased incline or slightly faster speed every 5 minutes. I ran 4 miles total.

Today will be Tear It Up. It's one of the 2 longer SS work outs at about 80 minutes so there will be no add ons though I may try to get out for a walk. I really want to get back into that!

Diana:: I gotta hand it to you, I would NOT being cooking for my drunk husband and his friends at 11pm on ANY night! You are very sweet to do that for them. I'd tell them to grab a bag of chips and deal with it. :p Thankfully I did make a full recovery before having to go to work y'day. Good job with Newport. What did you think of it? Can't wait to hear your take on Crossfit if you go to look at it. Those work outs look like puke status for sure! :D

Jacque:: DH and I went to the driving range y'day and I hurt myself! :confused: I bruised a knuckle on my hand. Very strange. It hurt so bad that I had to stop hitting balls and let DH finish the 2nd bucket himself. OOPS! :confused: I was talking to DH about walking the course and he thinks I'm nuts to want to walk an 18 hole course. There is a short course where the driving range is. He said walking that one is much more feasable. I think he's just lazy! :p

Jen:: Looks like we were all on the same page about Mondays y'day! Hope today is better for you. :)

Hola girlies !

Well y'day was not good for me. Forgot to take my lunch to my meeting (TG I ate a handful of almonds a bit before lunch time as it kept me from being hungry.) Then after I got home I was in such a "funk" ! I had forgotten to thaw some dinner food and caved to letting DH enable me to yet another dinner out. Was NOT good this time ! :eek: And after dinner we hit Best Buy to get a router to attach DSL to "my" snail slow dial up computer. :D But that took way too long and with my lack of sleep the night before I fell asleep as soon as we got home = no workout for me. :confused:

Today I'll hit a FB and do some cardio afterwards. And will be good on the eats ! :p

Diana - ITA how sweet you were to stay up and tend to "the boys" ! Nice job on the AOS - did bootcamp kick you into another world again? I have checked out the Cross Fit websites but nothing closer than 1/2 an hour from here and it seems that it may have disbanded since the website was put up. They seem like really tough workouts ! Do tell if you get a chance to go over there.

Wendy - UGH on the bruised knuckle. I've done similar to my hands playing VB (the stem would pop a blood vessel) and it hurts ! :( Did you like playing on the driving range? How about your swing? Has DH had someone train him with his swing so he can help you? Yep, my X didn't like to walk either. Some courses don't allow it since it takes longer and holds up those behind you. In that case I'd walk part of the way from shot to shot if I had the time. Helped me contemplate my lie and how to prep for my next shot. Will be interested to see how it goes . . . the short courses are great for beginning but I love to whack my drives ! :p I could outdrive some of the men on the course. My short game though :eek: and definitely what I had to work on.

Good morning girls!

Work was super busy yesterday and I never made it back here :eek: Hopefully today will be better, though it looks like it may be like this for the rest of the week. I do prefer it this way though. Hate being bored.

Anyway, I haven't reported my workouts since Saturday, I think, so a quick summary looks like this: S - 5 miles, M - PLB Standing Exercises, Tu - 5 miles :D Obviously the heel is feeling much better.

I'll join the group of unhealthy eats though. I don't know what got into me yesterday, but I nibbled on crap all day long! Today will be better.

Lori: Your post cracked me up yesterday! All I have to say is been there, done that. Take comfort in the fact that you are not the only one who has had to address an emergency in the woods. Story of my life these days, just sayin'...:rolleyes:

Wendy: Golf is so much harder than it looks! I've tried it a couple times and I do like it, but I get intimidated being out on the course feeling like I'm holding people up. I agree though that part of the benefit of the sport is walking the course, and I really do not understand the cart thing. I mean really, if you're not getting some sort of fitness benefit from the sport, what's the freakin' point?? Isn't that what sport and athleticism are all about? And yet, I know MANY golfers, and they all take carts. Startin' to wonder if golf is just a nice excuse for them to get out of the house and hang with the boys.

Jacque: Today is a new day! 'Nuff said ;) I think sometimes we just need to give ourselves a mental break from the diet/workout routine. We'll chalk yesterday up to that. DSO and I don't drive to work together, but I call him every morning and we chat on my drive in. By the time I leave my house, he's already been in the office for an hour and a half, so I call and give him permission to take a break :p The Garlic Festival sounds like a blast!

Diana: Count me in as one of the biz-nitches (my DS's word :rolleyes:) who would NOT be cooking for her drunk DH and his buddies at 11 p.m. You rock, girl, and I hope he appreciates you!

Hey to Laura! Hope your week is going well so far, with less drama than last week.

Good Morning Ladies,

I couldn't sleep last night and am so groggy this morning. At least I am working from home today so nobody has to see the dark circles under my eyes!

Have some DOMs in my back which is pretty unusual but glad to have it! I did my own circuit at the rec ctr yesterday. Lots of running, walking lunges, jumps, tucks, mixed in with upper body weight training (only used 12# db's) and abs. Bootcamp...that's another story. We basically did the whole class with bands around our ankles. Our hips and glutes were on fire. Yep, we had to run around the field with the bands on, lookin' like Charlie Chaplin...hill runs. She also mixed in some upper body working with tubing. I'm surprised my glutes aren't sore this morning.

I was planning on going for a run this morning but that's not happenin'. Will do some kind of cardio/leg workout at lunch. I'm kinda leaning towards one of the Plyo leg w/o's from STS. Who knows, I could change my mind between now and then.

Wendy-good job getting that run in. Sorry to hear about the golfing mishap! Have you or DH golfed before??? I only do putt-putt.:D

Jacque-We all have those days when our eating isn't the best. Just pick right back up and try to do better today. For the most part my eating has been pretty good. I hope the scale shows that at the end of the week. My weigh in is on Sunday afternoon.

Jen-I've finally been given some new stuff to learn at work. Some new coding that I will be taking over from some consultants that are doing it now. I need to get my running in like you are...nice job!

Diana: Glad to hear you've got new stuff going on at work! Does that make you feel a little better about the security of your job? How in the world could you even consider a run this morning after the workouts you did yesterday :eek: They both sound like killers and I think your body deserved a little rest this morning. And btw, I'm totally picturing a bunck of people running around like Charlie Chaplin! Too funny.

sorry .. been MIA .. my world has been a whirlwind .. more so than usual ... work drama .. pia in trng drama .. pia in trng supposedly a family friend (her parents are family friends of ours forever) .. she is something else .. talking smack and blowing BS up her parents arse .. I would really like to tell them what a peice of work she is .. but I am afraid it would fall on deaf ears .. they think she does no wrong and she is completly opposite ..

ey .. anyway .. had a bug this weekend .. some kind of stomach bug .. prbly brought on my stress .. my tummy rebels when I get worried or upset .. but I logged couch and toilet time this weekend .. the eats have been good though ... I am DOMing from the circuit class last night .. I HAD A MAN attempt my class :eek: yes he was drenched and he couldnt of got a good w/o b/c he could NOT follow the choreography .. anyways .. 4 step torture is tonight and he said if he was moving he would be there .. think he will get more out of that class being that it is more athletic and not dancy .. we will see if he shows .. BRAVE man though :p

Jacque .. I had the work FUNK all week last week .. and FRI is prbly the topper that made me sick all weekend . . shorthanded .. we were so busy and I was STRESSED out!!! hoping this week is gonna get better but .. hhmmm ... I have my doubts ..

Jen ... see you are still logging lots of miles huh?? I am making my goal for the most part .. but was hoping to really get some better numbers ..

Di ... dont know what you cooked up for DH .. I will have to go back and read that post .. LOL .. sounds like you are a good wifey .. hey .. my poor DH is the one that usually ends up cooking for a bunch of enebriated ladies that find their way to my house .... but when deer season rolls around I return the favor .. LOL!!!

Have a great one .. got my extra walk in at lunch .. we actually have LOW humidity and it feels great .. tonight is 4 step plyo torture .. then think DH has plans for me too ... ;).. this weekend is our 23 rd anniversary :eek: we have a fishing trip planned (real romace there huh?) .. but weather might push up over to Biloxi for some gambling :D wooohooooo:cool:

Laura: Congrats on the 23 years girl! That's awesome! I hope you and DH have a great celebratory weekend. And maybe tonight will help to work out some of that stress ;):D
 
Hi Girls.

I did Tear It Up and then after eating a small bowl of cereal to rejuvinate myself, I took off for the gym to get my walking in. I ended up doing Itread 21/30 walking intervals. I skipped the final recovery and cool down and went straight into set 1/20 mins (still walking it) and did that until I got to the 3 mile mark and then I cooled down. I walked that 3 miles in 46:06 mins! When I walk outside it takes me about an hour to walk 3 miles so I am very happy with this! I also finally put my pedometer on again right before heading off to work this morning. I took it off for Tear It Up but otherwise have had it on and am at almost 8500 steps now thanks to that walk. Not sure I'll hit 10k today but I'll take it!

Gotta grab a shower and get dinner going. I am not usually home on Tuesday night (visit mom night) but I am not going this week. DH bowls so he has to be outta here by 6 which means if I am opting to cook, it's gotta be on the table by 5:30 so I'm on a tight schedule here! :eek:

I should definately BBL for personals since DH won't be home to bug me! :p
