Damage Control...Tired on Hump Day

Morning.

I'm gonna be sleepy today. Didn't get a good night's sleep...went to bed a little late and fell asleep even later. :(

It's my rest day today (thank goodness cause I was NOT getting out of bed at 4:30!) but I just wanted to get us started....

'nother run today. 8/2 intervals and 2.78 miles in 30 minutes. I was proud of myself!

Feeling a bit of DOMS from the bicep "outer body experience" y-day in PUB. LOL. I love it when Cathe admits it's tough!!

Pumped about PLB tomorrow. I love that it's a good solid workout with no low-ends! ;) It was the workout where I actually learned to use heavier weights because I COULD. So it has a special place in my heart. :D

Sorry for the lack of personals this week. The short version of the story is that, here in Uganda, my DH and the team that we work with are starting a new university. Education is such a critical need here. There are actually 35,000 students with exam scores that qualify for university who will NOT be able to go because there are simply not enough spots for them. DH and I both have our Master's degrees and are teachers. He's working on his PhD, and he is the Project Manager for the university and will be Vice-Chancelor (president) when it opens. This week we've had the site-inspection teams on campus to evaluate and see whether or not we get our license to open. Yikes. Busy busy and stressful.

OK. So that wasn't such a short version. Anyway, I'm swamped and thankful to be getting in the workouts and short posts!
 
Good Morning Ladies,

I slept great last night and plan on sticking with the melatonin for a while.

Today is a cardio day and I think I will do Tonique with the drills in between each segment. I count Tonique as cardio since it is a good calorie burner for me. Abs will be thrown in today too!

DS is not doing his best in school which is quite disappointing. He is now pretty much grounded from everything until we see improvement. Boys are so unorganized, we went through this with the older kids too but it was at the middle school level. We had him clean out his backpack and go through all his assignments.

Wendy-thanks for getting us started! You should try melatonin, it seems to be working for me. At least it's on your scheduled rest day.

LauraR-wow, you and your DH are both teachers...very cool, and your opening a University to boot. That is pretty amazing! I hope the inspection goes well for you this week. Nice job keeping up with your running program.

LauraR:: Your work must be so gratifying. Because you and DH work together I am wondering if that's how you met..through work? Good luck with the University! What an awesome thing to be a part of! :) IA w/Diana..great job with the running! Kudos to you! Enjoy the pyramids! :)

Diana:: Sorry your DS is not doing as well as he should be in school. Hopefully he will pick up his grades soon. I may be hitting the lunge segment from Tonique Premier as my extra leg work out this week. Either that or I'll be visiting with Leandro. I haven't made up my mind yet. ;)
 
Morning ladies ...

OMG .. OK .. soooooo DH and Buster kept me up ALL NIGHT SNORING .. I swear they compete on who can snore the loudest .. DH won last night :confused::confused::( it was HORRIBLE .. a nuclear explosion couldnt have woken him up last night ... he was on nights and up all day w/his DM .. I know he was tired .. but OMG makes for a VERY aggravating night for me ..and NO DRUGS would have helped that noise .. UGH :mad:.. I wish i could have caffiene b/c I would force down a cup of the coffee the other girls drink up there .. UGH!!!

Wendy - we will both have to muddle thru the day today .. at least you can have caffiene (insert temper tantrum from me here)

LauraR- WOW .. talk about accomplishments and goals and giving back .. WOW .. you are amazing!!!!

Di - yes .. tonique would count as a cardio .. the moves are so deep and so constant and hard .. it gets the heart rate up and keeps it up ...Hope DS gets his act together ...

hello to all that follow ..

So I did cardio step - w/plyo blast - then LB & UB high rep weight circuits in between - great sweat - and can tell I worked the legs .. but no major DOMS :eek: tonight will be different story - KB work w/plank - pushup - core work :eek: will be complaining tomorrow!!! :D :p

DMIL did great she is at home recovering - DBF is still progressing :D - yayayayayayaayayaya!!!

OK .. have a great one .. I will BBL to check in on everyone! got a TON of paperwork stacked up we were uber busy ystdy - maybe will get a break today!! OH and we have mild temps - supposed to be upper 50's today :eek: have a great one! :D
 
Time to go to bed--5am will come EARLY tomorrow--but I wanted to stop back for a quick hello. Thanks for all your kind remarks.

The inspection is now over, and the team seemed impressed. They started out really stern-faced but were laughing and praising our work by the end. :) They will write their report right away, but the committee doesn't meet till March. So we have a long wait.

Thanks for all your kind words about our work. We certainly never wake up in the morning and say, "hmm, I wonder if what I'm doing really matters?" So that's gratifying.
