Good Morning!

Just getting us started! Todays workout is cardio and abs which I should be able to do this afternoon...and not before. I have some DOMS in my bic's from yesterdays workout:) Love it!!!

I willl return later! DS is waking up!

Good Morning Lori and all who follow. :D

Today's work out will be a run of 5-6 miles and possibly an upper body work out.

My legs aren't really talkin' to me at this point, surprisingly enough but I have a feeling that they will be SCREAMING after my run! :eek: I want to do an Itrain this morning but I will consider a slower, steadier paced run instead as it will be easier on the legs....I'll decide when I get to the gym!

I caught up with personals last night so if you haven't gone back and read 'em yet, go go go!:p

Gotta go 4 now but I'll be back!:)

Can you see I am “incognito” since I played hookie from the checkin yesterday? :eek: All I am going to say about that is: yesterday sucked – today is a new day ! :D

So Tues nite the Sharks won – high scoring on the home front but actually quite a good game for a couple periods. They played well. Was out way too late and only got a few hours of sleep though – not good but oh well. :confused:

Wendy – OK, you couldn’t pick so you did two workouts? Me thinks me woulda just watched TV or something. :p NICE JOB ! Both workouts sound interesting in the way that they work the legs differently – I love it when I feel the burn but can keep going. (Not like some of Cathe’s lunges where by the end I’m not sure if my legs will get me back up . . .)

Hope your legs treat you nicely today after you annihalated them yesterday. :p

Lori – How fun, a trip to FL. I am betting you won’t have much work to do on those old abs – are you looking for a 12 pack? LOL ! I am a couple weeks behind you as I just started the FF Jan rotation and even missed my workout y’day, but it is back & biceps. Looks as grueling as the chest and tris the other day. I was definitely feeling it when the Sharks scored and the chant started: every time I lifted my arm to cheer I thought of PUB & MM !!! :eek:

Have you ever stayed at a Marriott residence Inn? They are close to living in a house, kinda like a studio apt. I think they have multiple rooms. Not sure if they have them near Disney or not though. Enjoy your cardio & abs today.

Diana – How fun to watch both nieces playing at the same time – and it was a benefit for SIL? How absolutely cool ! Glad you enjoyed it. Good to hear CLX is going well. Wish that STS wasn’t on the way because with the way my schedule keeps turning out, short and sweet would work so well for me ! Perhaps in the future when my credit card is calling for some use? :rolleyes: (Like that will be anytime soon ! Ha !).

Laura – OK – my stomach just growled as I read about your pork chop dinner ! As great as push up as for me, I’m having such a hard time with shoulders cracking and wrists aching ! Tried using weights underneath and repositioning my hands in different places but still hurts after the first round of 15 or 16. Any suggestions? Not a muscular thing, but joints.

Whoa on the sandwich tale there lady ! OMG what a nightmare for you. :eek: Was he the owner? None of our Subways (and we have 3) are EVER that bad ! Bummer for you as Subway is my favorite “fast food” – I love all the veggies on my sandwich !

Well, now that I have caught up it is my usual workout time so off I go, hoping it will add some energy to my day today. Hope to pop back in at lunch, if I get one today that is !

Wendy** No DOMS??? You poor thing! Sounds like your workout was a waste of time yesterday;) have fun with your workout today. Im thinking about hoping on the TM as well but for some reason, I find it sooo boring. I use to be able to stay on that thing for a long time but now I am happy to get 40 mins in:confused:

Jacque** Hmmmm...is there a such thing as a 12 pack? If so...sign me up! hehe! Im really enjoying FF Jan rotation. I also did dec rotation as well. I didn't order the STS series so I am wondering what to do in Feb month. Im not one to follow rotations but I have really been enjoying the past 2 monthes. Maybe I will kind of follow the same thing but add in different workouts. As for the trip to Fl, we are still looking for a place to rent. We need two homes, next to each other, or on the same st in a gated community. Seems as if everything is booked!:(

Geez...I wish I could workout in the mornings. I am just kind of sitting here, waiting for lunch time. I do need to run out and get a few things but its soooooo cold out! Im sure DS wouldn't mind going out just the same, he didn't get out yesterday b/c of the snow storm.

Mornin' Girls,

Wow, it appears everyone is up early today! Not sure why but I was exhausted last night and went to bed at 9:30. I had a hard time getting up this morning so decided not to work out. Hopefully I can hit the gym at lunch.

My company is making a few changes such as no longer paying for IT employees internet access. I didn't have a problem with that, but some employees are really mad about it. I paid for my own internet before and I'll pay for it again. It did however take me 40 minutes on the phone with comcast to make the switch.

After reading a couple reviews on the OD about Tom Venuto's new book, I caved last night and ordered it. It should be here in a week or so.

Lori-I hope you find somewhere to stay in Florida soon. FF's rotations are always good. I've had success with WW in the past, but not so much recently. I think they do a good job of teaching portion control etc, importance of eating fruits and veggies and getting in enough water. I also don't really care for the leader so I'm going to try something different. Can't believe you didn't preorder STS, as much as you love weight training I figured it would be right up your alley!

Wendy-Wow, 3 workouts yesterday and you call me crazy!!:p I'm going to view the powerstrike workouts on collage. You're such an enabler. CLX is a long rotation which I know isn't really your thing. You do the same workouts for a month before you start the next phase. I haven't looked at the push phase, but I'm guessing the cardio is the same as the first month since the set only came with 2 cardio dvd's, with the option of purchasing a 3rd from BB.

Jacque-4am, what were you thinking?? I'm always so happy when I get a full nights sleep-which I did last night. Sorry you had a bad day yesterday. You are right, today is a new day! I see the Avs and Sharks play each other and the end of the month:D Enjoy your workout! Regarding pushups, have you tried putting your hands in a fist and placing your knuckles on the floor, this allows your wrist to stay straight? They also have push up handle bars you could try.

Laura-Regarding your subway incident, I probably would've walked out. I think a complaint is called for anyway. What's on your agenda today?

Angie-did yah see, I ordered the book too! BFFM is a good book so I'm hoping this one is too. The reviews are good so I'm sure I won't be disappointed. What are you up to today?

Jen-how are ya missy? I hope you are easing back into exercise like you were told. Are you still looking forward to going back to work? I'm sure it will be nice to get out of the house at any rate. Take care and let us know how your doing when you have a chance.

Hi Girls.

I went to the gym immediately after dropping DS off at school. I thought about going home and going back out later but I forced myself to get 'er done and I'm glad I did. :)

I ended up running 5.50 miles. First I did ITrain 2/40 and then rounded it out with a steady state run at a moderate pace until I hit the mileage I wanted. This means Saturday will be 5.50 miles as well to reach my 18 mile goal for the week. :) I am still hoping to squeeze in an upper body work out today as well.

Eats...

Last night's snack was a bowl of cereal. I also had a half glass of wine.:)

Today:
B: 2 mini ww bagels with natural p/b
S: pria bar
L: salad with the usual veggies plus almonds, craisins and 4 slices deli turkey to fill me up, 1 square 70% dark chocolate

I have several chores to do around here so I better get going. I'll be back a bit later for personals....

AAAAHHHH yes today is a new day .... still a full moon though :confused:

Been in a meeting all morning ... think they are preparing us for a bad year to come :( but at least we still have jobs (nock on wood) ...

Wendy .. 3 w/os???? WOW girl .. hey I did review those w/o on collage .. OMG that girl is RIPPED ... looks interesting .. IA w/Di .. you are sooooooo an enabler (but in a good way) ....

Lori .. I cant help you much on Orlando .. I know they are always packed .. have you tried booking thru a agency??? sometimes a google search on vacation houses to rent in Orlando might come up w/something .. I know in the Keys they passed an ordinace where houses had to be rented by the MONTH .. you cant rent them by the week anymore .. we lucked out and got a condo/duplex that rents by the week .. good luck in your search!!

Jacque .. IA glad today is a NEW day .. yesterday was something else for sure .. and the sandwich fiasco .. HA . nope this dude is a con artist .. never held down a job much less run a business!! What is bad I told my SIL about the story ..she laughed and said I know exactly who you are talking about .. he is a BUM!!! LOL ON the pushups .. HA ..if you can figure out how to keep the joints from popping and crunching during a push up ... PLEASE share w/me .. LOL ... even when the old shoulder heals I am sure the popping will continue :confused: I cant take glucosomine (b/c of my kidney stones) . . but I know it helps LOTS of people w/the joints!! Try that and report!!!

DI .. our company are making conservative changes too .. trying to be proactive instead of reactive to the horrible economy ... very scary times and I dont have much faith in the future either :confused: (that is depressing isnt it) ... I didnt complain on the sandwich bum b/c he wont be there long enough anyways .. now that he knows that I KNOW that he has a job (for now) if he doesnt get fired he will quit!!! (if you know what I mean)

EATS: last night was steak fajitas .. not too bad but I did put a dallop of sour cream and some real cheese on it .. only ate one though! Today had my usual 2 boiled eggs (white only) .. snack: assorted fruit (from meeting) .. lunch is gonna be a lean quisine lasagna ... not taking any chances today .. LOL!

No w/o at lunch .. TOO COLD .. it is not even 40 yet .. and tonight is supposed to be 18 :eek: .. the coldest night since NOV ... and I know I should not complain b/c you guys north of me have been constantly getting freezing temps .. snow .. blizzards .. etc .. I have been chilling in the 70's .. but to go from 70 to 18 :confused: errrrr .. kinda freaks the old bod out ya know???

Tonight .. going to be mish mosh of mostly cardio .. plyo work .. leg and core work using the sliders (oh my sliders ..are paper plates .. you know if the gym wont fix the speakers they are not going to fork over money for REAL sliders .. LOL) ... last weeks class made everyone so sore they are wanting it again .. so I am obliging!! :)

Back for a few mins - needing a break.

Well my 4 AM wakeup time was not intentional, nor apparently productive other than catching up here because I was cold, laid down for a few mins with my down blankie and zzzzzzz'd out. No workout yet so figured I had better come back to confess so I will stick to my guns and do it when I get home !

Did forget to post that eats have been great - need to reel in the CABs a bit but the MGD's don't feel like CABs for the most part. ;)

Boy this weather sure has been weird - last month you all were warm and we were cold, now we are warm and you are cold. End of the week we are supposed to cool off a bit and possibly get rain. Hope the trend continues so you guys can warm up a bit !

Lori - I don't do well just picking out my own workouts - takes time and then I dawdle too much. The rotations are also set up well but love the Cathe book where you can check the type of workout they are and switch them. Or like you, toss in some running too ! Hope today goes well for you.

Diana - funny how some people want it all, but don't realize if a company spends too much there will be no job? I could understand the disappointment if they didn't need or use internet in their personal time or if you are REQUIRED to work from home, but other than that? Will this cut down on your telecommuting?

I have a pull up bar that I can turn over to do push ups - it does put me in a different angle, but actually may be better for my back (which is another issue :( ) Thanks for the reminder !

And now, may have to go check out the Venuto book too ! I need something to spur me on this year ! More input, yes, that just may work ! :p Yes, Sharks play the Avs later this month - did you hear our AHL picked up Lemieux? Think they may be keeping him around for playoffs just in case. That's the one non Sharks jersey I do have 'cuz I liked the logo. :D

Wendy - good job getting your workout done ! (I sure can't say that - at least not yet ! BUT I will do it ! Yep I will ! ;) ) Way to log those miles !

Laura - You guys still have a full moon (for reals or you meaning that life is acting that way?). I noticed Tues that ours dropped to about 2/3 from Sat. nite. Hope all goes well at work for you - we have been making some drastic changes at all locations and at all levels. Sure hoping things pick up soon. We do have an estimate that our strawberry business will pick up pretty well and this sun is helping things ripen much more quickly. Hope it continues - we need the sales !

I am currently taking some glucosamine/chondroitin but maybe upping it a bit will help? Will try adding another pill per day and see. Also do pretty well with the fish oils/Omega 3's too. Old age can be old age though. I keep telling my kids - if I knew how I was going to feel now, I would have done things differently when I was in high school and college. Though back in those days :)rolleyes:) we didn't even have very good athletic shoes to help cushion our knees/ankles/hips. At least things have progressed ! ;)

LOL about your one fajita - lately I have been putting so much on mine that I cannot even close it ! But I like to load it with homemade salsa, a dollop sour cream and 1/4 avocado. And only eat the one, low carb tortilla ! Enjoy you mish mosh tonight !

Back to work - forgot to do a couple of things ! :confused:
 
Jacque .. our moon was full last night .. I just check it and it is smaller tonight .. but last night you could see the whole thing .. and people loose their minds on a full moon .. everything and everyone seems to be a bit more loopy and crazy acting .. LOL .. so I meant it literally and meaning of way of life antics both!!!:) strange guess we get a delay from our location huh?? never really thought about it ..

The eats: lunch was lasagna Lean Quisine . .and mixed greens w/balsamic vinegar ... snack was a green apple .. tummy is growling again .. it is not liking this cutting down on the calories thing .. LOL!!! BUT .. I have a pot roast I put in the crock pot waiting on me when I get home .. MMM MMM MMM .. lots of veggies and the roast was a sirloin so should not be bad fattening.. I put lots of tomatoes - carrots - corn and peas in it .. DH said it smelled so good ... :D .. dang I'm good .. ;) jk!!!

OK .. 'bout to get outta here .. gonna be a cold one tonight .. bundle up ladies!! :)
 
Hey Ladies,

I think I'm coming down with something which would explain why I was so tired last night. I went to Costco at lunch and left work a bit early as I'm not feeling too good. The laundry is started and dinner is in the oven so at least I'm being productive at home. I made grilled chicken quesadilla's with refried beans, cheese, and homemade green chile. Just waiting for Jerod and DH to get home from basketball practice so we can eat.

Jacque-I can still telecommute since I switched my internet service back to me. It's kind of hard to justify telecommuting if you can't log into work or email. I paid for it before and it's no big deal to pay for now, My whole family uses the internet and the kids really need it for school. I have a Sakic jersey, he's my man!!!

Wendy-good job getting your work out in right away. Sometimes if I procrastinate the day gets away from me and I miss my workout time.

Laura-I can't believe your gym doesn't have real gliders. Both of my rec ctrs have the purple gliders. At home I found out I can use a washcloth on my puzzle at that seems to work fine. There are gliders for hard surfaces or carpet but I'm not sure which one of those would work on the puzzle mats. Enjoy your dinner- it sounds delicious!

Angie-Where are you missy??? snowed in from the sounds of the news.
 
Well I finally got through my workout. The past couple of nights I have ended up on the phone :confused: so working out has been tough ! I am not one to make many calls so when I have the chance to catch up, I take it.

Man oh man, will be anxious to see how I do with doubling up on the body parts each time. I get so tempted to not do the entire second round, but keep going.

Diana - Like your family, we'd have internet anyway. The company paying for it would be a big bonus, but I don't do much telecommuting since all my files are on my HD at work. Sometimes I put them on a USB drive and bring them home when I can't get off the phone to do any work ! Happy to hear you can still work outta the house. And WOW, Sakic ! Niiiiiicccccceeeee. He is one of DS's favs. Din din sounds scrumptious ! I have soooo many leftovers which I usually have for lunch, but have missed lunch a few times this week. However, still have some carne asada that would make a delish quesadilla ! Thanks for the inspiration ! :p

Laura - OK, kinda weird about the moon thing. I may ask my local IT "dude" who loves astrology if he has a clue. Did you do a sirloin roast? Remember Mom made pot roast nearly every weekend when I was a kid. I was one of those who chewed their meat at least 1,000 times before I could swallow it and she used chuck. Yeppers, I spent at least FOUR hours at the table on those nights, LOL ! So, not a meal that I typically cook, but have done tri tips (BBQ'd first) and then simmer with a little water and tequila. Toss in some beans and spices (or BBQ sauce) and make burritos.

Okie dokie ladies, off to shower and eat some din din - thinking it will be an asada quesadilla ~ yum yum ! :eek:
