Damage Control STS Style-Monday...Week of 2/6

Hi Ladies,

Well my computer decided to do install updates and restart during my post. GGRRR This cold is still kicking my azz.

I went to bootcamp class last night and I'm so sore this morning. I actually just took some advil. Some of it is due to STS, but the rest is due to my class. My legs/glutes are so sore today. Hopefully my walk won't show it.:p

This morning I'm going to try Bootcamp (original), just cardio and abs. I'm not feeling up to a full w/o this morning. I want to get the blood flowing to help the dom's and get some ab work in.

Laura-glad the funeral is behind you and you got to catch up with some family. Hopefully the family will stay more in touch now.

LauraR-nice work!!! Imax 3 is on of my favs. I think I say that a lot, but really only have about 5 or 6 favorites. I usually have to try to get my water in during the breaks.

Lori-I'm on coffee number 2, trying to wake up. Although I went to bed early, I woke around 3:30 and tossed/turned the rest of the night.

Wendy-So Leandro is coming out with new w/o's, are they for the bum bum too? I'm looking for some new kickbox w/o's. Would you recommend Criss Cross Cardio and Cardio Combat Surge?

Lori:: Only a couple hours of sleep and you intend to function today? In the words of Laura T....Bless your heart. I couldn't do it! :eek: Yeah, that girl sounds a wee bit cooky to me too! Pay her no mind! :p I haven't been doing the Toniques reguarly in quite some time and right now I can only do them once a week while doing STS. I haven't done a good solid rotation with them yet even though I spent some time using them often. Not sure about actual results cause I wasn't paying that close attn to it at the time :rolleyes: but they definitely increase endurance and they are tough work outs! Now I did a real BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) rotation and got good results with it. Same idea-focus is on endurance work outs for lower body. Why? Are you looking to buy something? ;)

Diana:: My legs are sore today too from y'day's floor work. I am surprised my glutes aren't hurtin' though! :confused: Perhaps I have actually attained...BUNS OF STEEL!? LMAO! :pI am pretty sure Leandro's new work outs are meant to be a part of the Brazilian Butt Lift series so yeah, I'd say the big focus will be on the rear end/legs. ;) I haven't gotten into Criss Cross Cardio much because the 2nd half strings a lot of combos together and I got frustrated and haven't gotten back to it to try and learn it. That being said, with your aptitude for and enjoyment of thought provoking choreo, I'd say go for that one. Not CCS. You might also enjoy Susan Chung's Kick, Box, Core & Burn (or something like that! LOL). :) Good job pushing through class last night. Do what you can this morning and don't feel bad about it if it's not what you had hoped to be able to do!:)

Hello Ladies!!

MAN I finally got some good sleep last night - DH was on nights and my babies were tired - so I slept GOOD!! I feel like a new person today! :D I watched CSI and it was about a chopped up body - so I had bad dreams but was so tired I fell right back asleep afterwards. I taught - did a mish mosh class of everything KB, weights, high reps, low heavy reps, body exercises, plank work, paper plate work - FELT GREAT .. only had a couple coughing spells so I must be better!! DOMS report: hammies, a bit into the buttocks, shoulders, and core!!! :eek: :D :D Yes FEELS GREEEEAAAAT!!!!!

Lori - yes funerals are draining - and I was zonked but the good nights sleep did wonders for me!!! :) .. and your friend .. sometimes running in public makes you run harder .. try harder and have better form - I would tell the girl it is part of your training strategy - most people who dont want to run or exercise in public are scared of looking stupid or weak!!!

Wendy - I will have to look into the new BBL ... YOU KNOW I will end up buying them .. LOL!!!!! it is a great series!!! and VERY effective!! Plus he is quit entertaining w/o being aggrevating!!!

Di - man sorry you are still feeling bad - I think I am finally getting better - hoping next week I can get back to my normal exercise pattern!!! So take the rest you need to recover - get better!!!!

LauraR - good job on IMAX3 - that is one that I dont like - I think it is qued too high of a bpm for the moves she does - I hurt my knee doing it so I gave it to my SIL .. she loves it though!!!! I LOVE IMAX 2 though!!!

Jacque - where are you girlie???????

OK - so today DH working over and has tonight off - so we will have a mini date night - then tmrw go out shopping and out to eat!! :D OK .. have a great one .. I will try to bbl to see what everyone is up to!~!;)
 
LauraT...I heard a news story this morning that made me queazy and now I get to read your post about chopped up bodies on CSI. :eek: Thanks a lot! I am sick again! :p So is tmrw night going to be your Valentine's celebration or do you have something else planned for that? ;) Yeah, I like Leandro too. He's a goofball and it's totally endearing to me! :)
 
Wendy - ya tmrw will be our Valentine's Date/Dinner :) He will be on nights MON and I will have to teach. And I am sure tmrw will be the only time he will have to get anything for me .. so I am thinking some workout clothes from the Sports Academy :D :D and I am gonna bite the bullet and BUY MYSELF some lululemon stuff (thanks a lot Lori) What are your plans for V-Day???
 
LauraT....We are going to Atlantic City for the long weekend next week as a combo V-day and Anniversay (March 15) celebration. We will probably just exchange cards on the actual days. So Lori sucked you in on the LuLu Lemon thing huh? Awesome! :D

Wendy** LOL..it didn't seem that long and I wanted to get some good floor work in there. LBB floor work doesn't kick my arse but GS and PLB does!:eek: Actually, I forgot that I have PLB there as well. Maybe that is what I will tack on next week when I do legs. Sounds like you long weekend is gonna be fantastic!!

Laura** So I got to you!?? LOL I had another pair of crops come today but they were delivered to DH's store:mad: I don't know who this A-Holes are that are trying to get me into trouble...its not working though. I already told him how much I spent so the more parcels that come now the better right? It will look like I got more for my money! LOL Glad to hear you are feeling better after your sleep. I can't watch any shows like that. I use to watch unsolved murder mysteries when I worked night shifts. I would fall asleep with the tv on and then wake up and be afraid to go to the washroom!:eek:

Diana** O.k..well maybe after this weekend that stupid bug will leave you alone!!!:eek: I will put in some extra work for you!

Lori:: I just did the LBB floor work yesterday..the first part with the band isn't that bad but the portion done on the knees gets to me. By the end I am dying! :eek: If you want killer floor work, look into the Tonique Mat work out!!! You'll love it! ;) I used to do GS Legs floorwork all the time! I loved it!
 
So, I'm enjoying some interesting DOMS today. I did Slow and Heavy Legs for the first time ever y-day. (I bought it with the discount when I pre-ordered Shock Cardio, but never opened it since I was doing STS.) I really loved the new workout. The different count is just . . . different! :p I am sore in my upper hamstring--I guess you could say the "insertion," and I just never get sore there. I'm either sore LOWER in my hams or HIGHER in my glutes. I think it's because low-ends and pulses are so hard for me that it's tough to hang out at that "sticking point" where I really need it. But with the slower count, I was able to really sink in, use good form, and work slowly through the tough spots where I need to improve my strength and endurance. I'm thrilled.

Lori--I'm with Wendy . . . I need a nap just reading about your workout!! I was about to be really jealous of your new workout clothes, but my STS tower should be cleared by customs pretty soon, so I have something fun to look forward to. :) Still may have to hit the internet to check out some options, though. :p Sorry your delivery guys are trying to get you in trouble!! :p

LauraT & Wendy--Someone tell me about BBL. In 2 weeks I'm going to start a new rotation that is more "leg" focused. I'm going to do include Imax 2 & 3, Low Max, and Intensity, plus all the STS Plyo leg DVDs. IMO, BBL sounds like a catchy name to hook folks wanting a quick fix, but obviously, it's a solid program. What's it like?

LauraT--I'm so very sorry about your aunt. I hope continue to get good sleep to help you recover physically and mentally. Hope you enjoyed your mini-date. I LOVE Imax 2 too! I'll let you know what I think of the STS tower so you can have another opinion to weigh. ;)

Diana--Sorry you're feeling bad. Hope the DOMS works out quickly. Imax 3 is growing on me. I've always liked it fine, but Imax2 was just so fun that Imax3 had a lot to live up to. And it's HARDER. But the more I do it, the more I like it. Yes, it's crazy that you are all shoveling snow and I'm trying to beat the heat. It's so dry, I feel like I've been in an airplane for a week . . . you know that shriveled feeling when all the moisture has been sucked out? :D I drank a liter of water just at lunch time. It's crazy.

Wendy--Glad I could offer inspiration! Of course, you could never just do one single workout in its entirety!! ;) Good job with your Buns of Steel! :D
 
LauraR...BBL: Bum Bum-lower body focused routine that mixes toning with strengthing/sculpting and cardio. High and Tight-Lower body routine that starts out with standing band/loop work, then hits the floor for band work that hits inner/outer thighs and then onto the knees with ankle weights to hammer the butt muscles! Cardio Axe-some latin style cardio dance w/o that I can't hack cause my hips don't move like that. :p Tummy Tuck-20 minute all out attack on the abs. That's a very brief and quick run down of the basic set of BBL work outs from what I can remember. I will check to see if I missed anything when I get home tonight and fill in the blanks after dinner! HTH! :D
 
It's already Sat morn here . . .

Just finished today's workout: Scrambled Eggs premix. Love it! I only did the bonus cardio one time through . . . it's mentally fatiguing for me to try to do it twice. I've heard others say that, too. But then I tagged on the 9 min ab segment to make up for the 6 minutes I skipped. :D

This has been a "too dread" workout for me the last year because of my cardio deficiency. :confused: But it was totally fun today. Woo hoo! :)
 
Good Morning,

I feel a lot better then I did yesterday morning...no question about that.I didn't go to bed early b/c we had friends here for dinner but when I put DS to bed I may have had a little cat nap and I got to sleep in a little longer then I normally do. I have 3 workout sessions in the a.m and one after lunch. I will probably get my own workout in later today. DH is going away for the evening for hockey so I will have tons of time to myself....maybe I will do some online shopping??:eek:;)

I can feel my glutes a little this morning. I am sure its coming.

Wendy** I think I let a few funny noises out of me yesterday when I did GS LB work. I don't feel the way I did the other day when I did legs first and ran after. Obviously when I do the cardio determines how much DOMS I am gonna have. I think I did LBB with ankle weights on but it just wasn't hurting enough.:p

Laura** Nice workout today and yesterday. I know my workouts can seem lengthy at times but I have to do what I can do when I have the time. I don't think next weeks workouts are gonna be to great b/c I pretty much have 2 workouts sessions every morning before I go to work so unless I workout before those sessions, Im not gonna get anything done. I use to love BM2, haven't done it in such a long time!

I will probably bbl!

I have a "funny" situation for you guys. So you all know I work at a refueling stop for private aircraft. Well, this one pilot (who comes in quit often, nice guy,not attractive at all..not that it matters:p) added me to facebook. It came in handy b/c he would always send me an email when there was a flight coming my way. I always had the heads up and that was the only time I would ever hear from him. I was suppose to have a flight last Saturday night and he gave me the heads up. Later that evening I was at my SIL's house and he sent me an email saying that the flight was delayed but he didn't give me any details. I logged into my account on her computer and asked how long...he didn't know. I had no internet connection on my blackberry so I asked him if he had blackberry messenger and he could keep me updated that way...and that is what he did. DUDE hasn't left me alone since! I am not joking! I try to get rid of him with comments like "have a good run on saturday if I am not talking to you"...and this was Monday I said this....but he keeps coming back. I have a very difficult time being mean to people. I find it really,really hard. So in order to get rid of this guy I think I am going to have to tell him that I am buying a Iphone or something...LOL. Isn't this bizarre? I think he is totally bored in his marriage and this is "fun" for him...although its totally innocent and he doesn't say anything out of the ordinary. I just know its not right......I am guessing adding him to bb messenger was a bad idea. I don't know how I get myself in these situations. My friend summed it up though. She says there are some people you just can't be nice to b/c they take it the wrong way and I think this is what is going on here. I think he is mistaking my niceness for something else. I told him " you do realize I am nice to everyone"? Ugh! He even called me at work on Wed to ask me a running question...yeah right. Anyway.....I think that's what I'm gonna have to do. I'd rather lie then say "leave me the "f" alone". I see him to often and it would be very uncomfortable for me.

Happy Saturday Morning Girls...Saturday Afternoon in your case, LauraR! :D

Today's agenda is a big one! I need Lori to come over with her whip and keep me moving so I can get it all done. I know she would get 2x as much done in the end as I will. :confused: I have house cleaning, laundry, exercise, food shopping, taking Joey out somewhere fun and making a new recipe for dinner tonight to tackle today. I would usually split it up between today and tmrw but I am going shopping with my mom tmrw and even though I will say I don't want to be out all day, I never know how long the trip will last so I can't really count on having much extra time there. :rolleyes: I don't even know what time we are getting together yet...

LauraR:: I *did* forget a work out that's in the basic BBL set. It's Sculpt. It's a full body high rep low weight lifting routine. Pretty self explanatory. :) I also have the deluxe discs too if you want any info! LOL

Lori:: IDK what it is about that kneeling segment of Cathe's LBB that gets me so bad. I can do BBL's ankle weight work with 3# AW's on each ankle and get through it. I wanna cry but I can get through it! It doesn't seem that Cathe's would be any tougher. Maybe it's the way she sequences it??? Who knows. I am gonna hafta do it with 1# AW's on next time and I will be sure to curse you out when my azz starts to cramp so bad that I think it will get stuck in that postion!!! :eek::p Yup---too nice Lori! I am the same way!!!

Well off to hopefully finish my coffee and get movin'! In my defense tho there's already a load of laundry that's finished washing...just need to throw it in the dryer so I'm doin' good! lol
 
Happy Saturday is right!

My workout will be Back & Biceps and possibly a cardio. I did original bootcamp & abs yesterday and it was about all the cardio I could muster. We'll see if today is better.

I have a morning appt with a laser tech to see about having my lip/chin area lasered. I normally have it waxed when I get my haircut and use a depilatory cream in between. I'm sick of and want something permanent. I have fine blonde/clear hair on my face so it will take twice as many sessions as someone who has darker hair. I will get all the details today and if I choose to, can also have my first laser treatment.

DH and the boys are going to start tackling the garage. It has become a dumping ground since Christmas. DH said their not going to go crazy, but it does need some major cleaning. Just getting things back where they belong so we can walk through the garage will be nice. Once the weather is nicer we do the major cleaning that it needs.

LauraR-I like Imax 2, but Imax 3 is much more fun IMO. I remember the first time I did it, the first blast really got me, the direction changes etc. When I get a new w/o, I do it in sections and rewind, repeat etc until I get it down. They usually end up taking well over an hour but its worth it to me to learn it. My favorite premix on BM2 is Cardio Blast. Love your "too dread" comment!:D Slow & Heavy, haven't done those in ages, glad you liked it. It's just very different, but you will get stronger and see results.

Lori-How is your PT certification coming along? Not sure what you should do regarding the work situation. ITA, although it is innocent it is also inappropriate.

Wendy-We don't have much going on today. DS2 cleaned the whole house yesterday :) so I just have laundry, grocery shopping and w/o. Hope you have a fun time shopping with your mom tomorrow!

Diana:: I've considered looking into laser treatment for my bikini line! Haven't researched it yet though. Can't wait to hear what you have to say about it.

PS..I've actually gotten some things accomplished already this morning! YAY me! I'm on a roll! Need to get off this computer again pronto and keep going..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
