Damage Control STS Style-Monday...Week of 2/6

Hi Ladies,

So I thought I was starting to feel better so I attempted Intensity this morning. Well that only lasted 15 min, but I did burn 152 cals. This cold is really dragging me down. It seems to be moving into my chest too which is why I had a hard time doing cardio. On a brighter note, I weighed this morning and the scale is moving in the right direction!

DOMs report in the upper body, yeah!!! I need to get some heavier db's or a bench. I know I can go heavier if I had a bench. My heaviest db's are 35's and I use them for chest.

I asked DH to leave me his truck since the weather sucks. Of course he did, and he is putting new tires on my car today. It's about time I say. Seriously ladies, I got stuck in my driveway yesterday. It is only a slight slope and my front wheel drive car couldn't make it up. I can't wait to get my own 4WD vehicle.

Lori-glad to hear you are reaping the benefits of your tough w/o yesterday. No worries, you will definitely not look like a man.

Hey Girls,

Quick check in while everyone is out of the office. I managed to get 4 miles in on the TM but no abs. I also managed to drink my smoothie before I left for work...getting hungry now though. Meal #2 will soon be in my belly!

Diana** I need new tires too. Thankfully when I put my jeep in 4WD its still good. I don't think I will make it through this winter on those tires though. Sorry to hear you are still feeling icky!!

Oh..and where is Miss Wendy the thread starter. She isn't even checking in bright and early anymore. I guess she doesn't have to beat anyone to the punch these days:eek::p
 
Good Morning.

Rest day for me today. Pecs are sore but not nearly as bad as I had imagined after doing disc 7 y'day.

Diana:: Sorry you could only get thru 15 mins of Intensity but glad you didn't push it. Hope you are able to kick the cold soon. Hate when a sickness just drags on for what seems like forever. :mad:

Lori:: I should hope you are sore, lady! Holy bejeezus! And if you added legs to the mix you would be in traction right now!!!! LOL You looking like a man on the beach in Cuba? Uh...some how I doubt that! :rolleyes: :p

I am currently VERY happy for a one-week check-in as I am so behind. I'll try to catch up and read all the posts.

Our new co-workers just received their shipping container with all of their furniture, etc. on it. Crazy day. My Cathe STS tower is on that container. Happy day. We're providing back-up while they unload and deal with customs . . . .keeping kids, making phone calls, etc.. Ought to have my tower in a couple days--also my slanted risers. :p

Yesterday I did ME upper body premix. Today was supposed to be a run, but I got up too late and was NOT prepared to run in the heat like I did the other day. So I did HiiT 40/20. Wowsers. All the running has made me able to do a much better job on that workout, but it is still tough!!! I added a couple more rest breaks because I just couldn't quite do it on the 20 second intervals!

OK. Gotta jet. More folks coming over for dinner.
 
Oh I love this soooo much! I have pretty much been alone all morning!

Wendy** The girl I worked out with this morning said that she thought my arms were getting bigger:confused: Not really the look I am going for but whatev! LOL I thought you would like my comments!

LauraR** I was going to do ME UB yesterday as well but my dvd was skipping. Its the only dvd I ever bought off of ebay and I think its a rip off! I don't think its the real deal and I think it skipped from day one. Wasn't worth it to send it back.

Just had an odd but yummy "meal"...an apple, string cheese and some braided pretzel twists dipped in hummus with a dark chocolate lindt truffle for dessert! :9 Technically I brought in a tuna sammich for lunch but I'll eat that later! This stuff was tastier! :)

Lori...If ya don't want bigger arms then stop doing M2 work outs silly! :p

LauraR...So jealous of your tower. I am still waiting for Cathe to get them back in stock so I can order mine!
 
Wendy** I highly doubt that one workout yesterday gave me bigger arms;)

Well I know THAT! LOL but do you tend to gravitate towards the M2 work outs or no? IDK how much bigger your arms would really get from the work outs but it's a thought since the work outs in that meso are geared for hypertrophy.
 
Quiet here.....Im just getting ready for bed. I already had a nap with DS so I may have trouble getting back to sleep.

Wendy** I haven't done any of the STS in a while but I think you may be right, if I were to choose it would be the 2nd set. Soooooo maybe, just MAYBE you might be right this ONE time!:p:p:p I think the DOMS is getting worse as the day goes by! My shoulders are on fire!

Had a tough time getting up this morning. Almost didn't! :rolleyes: Doing legs and cardio today. BBW is on the schedule but I may trade it in for some Tonique or something. Think I'd rather just follow along with a dvd this morning then have to work from something written. We'll see what happens when I get in there....

Lori:: Try some very low weight/high rep work outs for your u/b for a bit. That might help.

LBB: All floorwork
Tonique: Back lying exercises up to but not including bicycles
Abs/Core: 2.5 min prone plank hold + 30 side plank hip raises on each side

Yeup...BBW went by the wayside but I'm gonna try again next week! :p

Hi Ladies,

My intention was to give Intensity another try this morning, but this cold has moved into my lungs and I just can't do cardio. I do have bootcamp class tonight and plan on going. Keeping up with STS, today will be Legs.

The DOMs is even worse this morning, CST for sure! Meso 2 is my favorite and I see the difference when doing this program...usually during meso 2 they appear.

I weighed in yesterday instead of today and the scale is going down-yeah. However, I weighed myself today and am down 1.2lbs from yesterday. If I can just keep this off for another week...and more too then I will feel like I'm on a roll.

Wendy-Nice w/o this morning girl. I haven't been able to get in my extra leg w/o in weeks now. It was a nice thought but it just hasn't come to fruition yet.

LauraR-Its seems so strange to hear about you having to hit the pavement early to avoid the heat, while the rest of us our digging out the snow every few days. I ordered a subscription of Runner's World in hopes of helping inspire me to start running a again.

Lori-hope you were able to get to sleep last night. Funny that you mention that. I noticed DS2 had a drink to help him sleep. I saved the bottle so I can look into it. They sell them at our local convenience store. DS1 drinks energy drinks and now DS2 is drinking something to help him sleep.

LauraT-Hug missy. Hope you are getting through this most difficult time okay. Don't forget to take care of yourself.

Jacque-Hey girl, where are you? Come back and visit us when you can.

Diana:: Sounds like you are already on a roll to me! Good job! So will you have to modify some of your class tonight since you can't really do cardio right now? Gotta love the DOMS! I've been taking lots of advil lately. The DOMS have been intense with STS. :)
 
Hey Girls,

I managed to do 5 miles on the TM this morning and 4DS abs. I downloaded some new music last night so I really enjoyed my run.

Wendy** I don't even think my arms are bigger. Actually, I know they aren't b/c I measured my whole body not that long ago. It was just her eyes. Shes a bit nuts anyway so I take what she says with a grain of salt. I haven't been finding it to hard to get out of bed lately. I guess I have adjusted to my new schedule!

Diana** Thats funny about your sons. I noticed the other day that DH was drinking some kind of energy drink before he goes to hockey...and its GROSS! I have never tasted anything so awful before. Congrats on the weight loss!!

I will probably bbl!

Friday Eve ...

Hey Girlies!!!

I am SOOOO TIRED - family left around 7 last night - the funeral was nice - all the cousins were down - had a good turnout of mainly family!! I got to reconnect w/my first cousins I have not seen in a while - it was really nice! and we hope to stay in touch and not let it be that long since we get together!!! My mother and aunt (the one that is like my second mthr) are doing better than expected - I think they are just releived to have it behind them now!!

Wendy - I think I may pull out bumbum and do it this weekend .. I have forgotten about the BBL - i LOVE that workout!

LauraR - sounds like you have a HECTIC day ahead - and YAYAYAYA on the Cathe bar!!! I have debated back and forth about getting it - ??

Di - sorry your cold is doing worse - you prbly shouldnt have tried to workout hard ystdy - mine STARTED in the lungs - and it is NOT fun - I am still hacking up CRUD - but I am much better!!

OK .. so it is catch up today - and I am planning on teaching class tonight - thinkin if I can muster the energy I am going to attempt my mish mosh class!! :eek: Maybe next week my cold will be over- things will settle and I can get back to cleaning up the eats and get back to my extra tuff workotus!!! have a great one!;)
 
LauraT:: Glad you had a nice time catching up with your family. It's ashame that such occassions are what forces a family to spend time together. Have fun with Leandro this weekend! ;) Did you hear he's making new work outs!?!? :D

Lori:: Well if this girl is nutty then don't even worry about it! More definition could be mistaken as larger I suppose. That's probably all it is and that's a GOOD thing! So did you do both ab segments from 4DS? I am not crazy about the ab work in that series for some reason but I do it anyway...:rolleyes:

Good Morning! ( I think )

Nice to be alive I suppose....I went to work last night for a flight and DS won't let me sleep and to be honest, DH didn't really help much either. It got to the point where I just said F IT, time for coffee." And of course today is the day that he decides to start his day at 6:30 and I didn't get into bed until 4! I had some sleep before my flight but it was all broken. I am sure once the coffee kicks in I will be feeling a bit better.

Laura** Funerals are very draining and emotional. Obviously they are draining b/c they are so emotional. Saying good bye to a loved one is so hard. I am sure you have many great memories though. Did you teach your class last night?

Wendy** Yeah, this girl is a bit odd. She has a mind of her own but yet she listens to what other people say. Her friend said to her one time, that the only reason people run busy st's is so that people can look at them:rolleyes:! Do you really have a choose when you live in a small town? I for one don't care who see's me running. So one of her goals is to run the 10 mile race in the city this July, so we have been working on that. I told her that this weekend we were gonna get a good run in and she asked if it would be outside. Weather depending of course. I told her that we could b/c some of the wider st's are usually quit clear a few days after a storm. She didn't want to do that b/c people would see her:mad: I asked her where she was gonna go running that people wouldn't see her? Jump'in dy'ins! If she thinks Im gonna take my car to a hide away spot just b/c of what her friend thinks, she got another thing coming. Anyway...I don't listen to her.
Do you do those tonque (if that is how they are spelled) very often now? Did you see any results from them?

LauraR** Nice workout. I have no idea what I am doing this morning. I can't even really think yet...but I am starting come around.
