~~ DAMAGE CONTROL ~~ Slow Movin' Super Saturday

Morning morning ladies !

Chatty bunch yesterday as Diana mentioned. I was amazed to see DC’ers over 20 posts ! Go us ! ! ! :D So then today I don’t even see a thread started? Hmmmmm . . . possibly burn out from yesterday or everyone sleeping in ?

Laura – sorry to hear about the rumor re:DH’s work. Mine is a bit leary too as they are owed tons of $ and cannot collect right now. At least you will be having a super great time this weekend – hoping with “work issues” can be left out of it. Speaking of work, do you think you’ll see and end to your overwhelming stacks or is it because of PITA in training being termed? You will catch up on your life=workouts + eating once you can get back to a more normal schedule. It happens to all of us.

Diana – I was the same with shorter workout but if you saw most post the other night I added just a 15 min walk and at least that add to movement and a few cals, right? If you add your CF and your walk you can see the # of steps will add up – good job on hitting the 12K. Seems even walking is about an extra 15 – 20% cal burn over sitting down so hey, not bad there !

Woo Hoo on dumping an interest only loan. :D I was fortunate enough to have a father in real estate so he taught me the “ropes” on loans. Sounds like you got a super deal there. I need my home price to increase a bit so I can refi – we are probably just a bit higher than a 80 LTV but I don’t want to pay the costs unless I know I can get a loan. We’ll drop between ½ - 1 % but I’m doing it for a lower pymt incase DH has job problems. It will drop our mo pymt by about $500. I’ll still take a 30 yr loan out and pay off extra principal – we’re looking at about 10 – 12 years left. I may actually have my house paid off before I can even afford to retire ! Unusual in CA – and I “started over” at 40 – DH had owned nothing prior to that. Just think – I’ll be able to afford Cathe/Insanity, etc like crazy once I hit 65 ! LOL ! :p

Never made it to MM yesterday – had the energy but just kept working on chores. DH is lazing in bed still (8AM) so I’ll straighten up a bit and am sure he’ll still be slow so may get it in before we leave. I’d like that so I could possibly do some cardio tomorrow if we get back early enough. We’ll see how it pans out.

Hope you all have a great day – probably BB tomorrow evening.

Morning Ladies,

I'm just sitting here waiting for the closing agent to show up. He should be here in 30 minutes, but I was expecting a phone call first.

Today I will be doing PLB and a kickbox w/o. I'm leaning towards Amy Bento's Kickbox Extreme. Not sure if any of you have done any AB w/o but I recommend her. She's no Cathe, but you will definitely feel her weight w/o's and her cardio w/o's are pretty intense.

Jacque-So will you be heading today for your Annivers. weekend? I hope you and DH have a fabulouse time. LOL about being able to afford Insanity at 65!! Me too. I hate when my household chores get in the way of my workouts. Sometimes they just need to be done though.

BBL to see what the rest of you are up to.

Good morning, all!

Slept in a bit and then went out for a six mile run. Just got back and showered, and am now waiting for the kids to get home. I'll do some housework while I wait.

Jacque: Hope you and DH have a great time!!

Diana: Yay for low interest rates :) Hope your closing goes smoothly. I've never looked into Amy Bento's stuff, even though there's been a lot of chatter about her here on these boards. May just have to give her a look-see ;)

Will bbl after some housework to see what everyone else is doing today. Later gators,

Jen

Good Afternoon Girls.

Had fun last night with the girls. We all ordered a "fishbowl" drink with dinner. It's a 60 oz drink and they served it in a pitcher with 2 straws in it! LOL I was sooo full from it plus dinner that I couldn't drink anything else the rest of the night and actually never even drank the entire fish bowl either and then it was water for the rest of the night for me.

Not sure that I want to take a rest day today. I may just keep on goin' with Insanity...:D...call it testing the waters if you will. I want to see if I could actually handle the rotation as written. That being said I am probably not going to bother with BBC. Okay so I just checked out what the rotation calls for today and it actually calls for the 'recovery' work out. I'm a bit disappointed but perhaps this will work out better for me. I will be able to consider today an active rest day and then not have to take one until it's called for in the rotation again.

I'll be back a bit later for personals!

BFN!

Hello again.

Just so you all know, Diana pm'd about the Insanity disc so I'm mailing it off to her on Monday.

I did Insanity: Cardio Recovery today. It's essentially a 30 minute stretching routine but it's pretty intense. I enjoyed it. I was hoping for cardio today simply b/c of last night's indulgences but I'll get over it. I didn't over-eat so it's okay I guess.

Jen:: Was your run outdoors this morning? If so then I gather it's not quite as nasty hot by you as it is here here in NJ?? What time did your kids get back? Happy they are home or want to send them back? :D;):p

Diana:: I had Amy's KBX and hated it b/c the choreo was too intricate for my liking. I also have her Slo Mo Strength and like it though I don't use it often for some reason. I still haven't used her bell work out. I pre-ordered it so I've had it for a while. I don't know what the heck I'm waiting for! LOL Hope the closing goes smoothly today.

Jacque:: I had to chuckle at your sleeping in comment as I actually DID sleep in today! I slept later this morning then I have in ages....9am! Can you flippin' believe it!? I was amazed! :p I think I missed what you are up to today but I will go back and read to see if I can find it. Regardless, I hope it's something fun and you enjoy yourself! :)

Guess that's all for now. I'm trying to convince myself to follow Jen's lead and get some house work done but I am soooooo unenthused...

BBL!

Wendy: Don't overexert yourself with the housework, because I didn't!! :p I've only done the essentials so far, like cleaning the kitchen and sweeping up the dog hair. My bathroom needs a serious scrubbing, but that's going to wait until tomorrow. My gf just invited us over for drinks in a little while, so that will take priority over the rest of the housework (no brainer, right?) It's seriously hot and humid here today, interrupted by an occasional downpour, which seems to only be making it more humid rather than providing any break. But the garage was hotter and more humid than it was outside this morning, so that's why I ran outdoors. Overall, it was a good run, the hills were killers today though. I'm happy to have the kids home finally. Sometimes it's too quiet around here without them, believe it or not! So you like today's Insanity workout, huh? Did you see Denise R's post on the OD about her five week results? They're pretty impressive, though I'm curious to know if she changed her diet. I'm feeling myself teetering on the fence I've been sitting on re: Insanity, and you can probably guess which way I'm leaning, right  Paycheck comes next Friday, woo hoo ;)

Jen: Bathroom scrubbing is one of my least favorite chores! I love cleaning my kitchen for some reason but cleaning my bathroom is at the bottom of my list. BLECH! That being said I understand why you put off that chore. ;) So you are starting to slowly get sucked in by the call of Insanity huh? LOL I am going to see how the next 2 weeks go. If I am handling it okay and nothing bizarre (bad) is happening to me (ie: weight gain) from all of the cardio, then I will probably consider pushing off starting the X AGAIN in favor of trying to complete a true Insanity rotation. I will keep you closely advised as to my status. I have a feeling if I get through these 2 weeks w/no troubles that you'll be hitting the "process order" button faster then I can say "ENABLED"!!!!:D:D:D

Hi Girls,

My workout is done and I'm a stinky, sweaty mess. It looks like DH is gone...DS2 is sleeping...DS3 left to go watch the air show with some friends.

The airshow is at a small airport right next to my work..we got to watch them practice yesterday. F16's flying straight up and coming straight down, flying very low and fast. It was a nice break from work yesterday afternoon. Once we heard them...we headed outside to watch for a bit.
I can even hear the planes right now!

We weren't that impressed with the interest rate, we were already at 4.875 so going to 4.5 isn't saving us much. What is doing is paying our interest only HELOC from hell. I'm so happy about that.

Jen-nice job getting that run in before the heat set in for the day. We are supposed to be in the 90's tomorrow and high 80's for the rest of the week. Thanks so much for the tip on the trip function! Today it showed the biggest difference from my HR mon, HR mon read 641 cal and GWF showed 743. Prior to today, the differences were within 50 cals. I'll check out the OD on Insanity. I figured since I was the last to post late last night you would've taken wendy's offer already. My lucky night!

Wendy-well I do have to start over each routine after about 10-20 seconds, it takes that long for it to register with my brain...it is still a good w/o. I'm interested in AB's KB w/o's. They look pretty good to me too. I also like her weight w/o's...I don't do them very often either..no reason. Well they are kinda long unless you do a premix. I saw the pic of your fishbowl drink on FB, OMG.

I need to shower and file a bunch stuff...again...still.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday.

I saw the results post on the O/D for Insanity as well. Very impressive. I've been reading about the great results all along though. I'm surprised it took me as long as it did to "get sucked in". :p

Diana:: Hey as long as you got out of the interest only crap it was worth the refi and you did get a lower rate to some degree to go along with it so that's a plus! :) LOL, yes that fishbowl drink was a doozie in size but it wasn't all too strong. It tasted yummy and definitely gave me a bit of a buzz but nothin' like a "regular strength" drink would have given me. For money I will go for the martini next time. Less liquid to fill me up and a better buzz. I'm all over it! ;)

Jen:: I have heard the "it's too quiet when the kids are away" comment before from my DH's cousin and his wife when her kids go with their dad for more then just the weekend. I have been without Joey for a week a couple of times but that is because DH and I were going some where inappropriate for him so that being said, I never felt this way personally. When he's gone for a weekend I appreciate the quiet and the freedom and adult only time and I know Joey is having a blast too so everyone is happy. :)

Well I just finished my dinner. No one but me wanted to eat right now because we all ate something at about 3pm but ofcourse I was hungry again already! I ended up eating the same thing for dinner that I had for lunch cause I was too lazy to cook just for myself and there wasn't much in the way of choices in the house. DH was pickin' on me for that. LOL Oh well, I'm easy to please, right? :p

Okay, my mom is on the phone so I gotta go...BBL!:)

Okay, the room changing has commenced. DS2 is draining his waterbed now and his cousin came over to help him move. They've brought up the larger desk from the basement and already have that set up. Once the bed is drained they have to take it apart and set it up down here....and then fill it again.

Hopefully he will get enough done that I can paint his old room tomorrow and move DS3 in there next weekend. DS3's bedroom is blue now, actually quite a nice paint job my sister and I did with the faux painting. For an office though, I probably want it to be much brighter and may just paint it white.

Wendy-you are right, our refi was the right thing to do for us. We did have to add a year to our loan and pay 5K:mad: I'm still happy to be done with interest only HELOC from hell. We are trying to position ourselves for retirement as DH wants to retire early, actually in 11 years. Not sure if we will make that but 15yrs sounds reasonable.

Jen-I have to say I enjoy only have one kid around most of the time now. When all 3 were here there was a lot of fighting and name calling. DS2 is usually at school or working and DS3 has football in the evenings. You need to learn how to enjoy your quiet time when you get it. Read or do other activities that are harder to do when the kids are with you.

Lori should be poppin' here....
